As If You Don’t Know Enough

Ahem. Yes, we’re I’m a little bit wound up about  our trip.

Anyway, here it is. A mindless meme. Thanks, fancythis. My brain  couldn’t handle anything more substantial than this today.

1. Explain what ended your last  relationship.

Wow. That would have been 1991. We had been  together for a year and a half. He bugged me. So I ended it. Need I say  more?

2. When was the last time you  shaved?

I can’t even remember. What does THAT tell  you?

3. What were you doing this morning at 8  a.m.?

Probably sitting right here.

4. What were you doing 15 minutes  ago?

Sitting right here.

(I did get up in between. I swear.)

5. Are you any good at math?

Pretty good, yeah. I used to be better before three  kids stole half my brain cells.

6. Your prom night?

Same as fancythis. I went with aforementioned  relationship boyfriend. I wore a hideous iridescent taffeta tea-length dress  with an enormous bow on my left hip, dye-to-match shoes, and wayyyy too much  makeup. And let’s not EVEN talk about the big hair. Hey, it was the 80′s in the  south. What do you want from me?

We went out to dinner with another couple before  the prom, came back to my house afterwards, and hung out until dawn. We were  supposed to meet up with the aforementioned (I love saying aforementioned. Can  you tell??) couple for breakfast. But they stood us up. Ahem.

7. Do you have any famous ancestors?

Does my theologian uncle  count?

8. Have you had to take a loan out for  school?

No, thanks to the generosity of my parents who paid  my tuition in full.

9. Do you know the words to the song on your  myspace profile?

Okay. This is how behind the times I am. I do not  have a myspace profile.

10. Last thing received in the mail?

Bills and catalogs. What else comes in the mail  these days?

11. How many different beverages have you had  today?

Three, two of which consisted of enormous amounts  of caffeine.

12. Do you ever leave messages on people’s  answering machines?

Always. I usually prefer to leave a message over  talking directly to the recipient of the phone call. And email is even better.  Anything not to have to interact with another human being. Gotta love modern  technology!

13. Who did you lose your CONCERT virginity  to?

Ew. I hate that word. It’s so  vulgar.

It was a Steve Miller Band concert when I was in  college. I went to Raleigh to visit a high school girlfriend, and we went  together. Since then I’ve seen Billy Joel once and The Boss four  times.

14. Do you draw your name in the sand when you go  to the beach?

Never. I don’t like sand. Gritty.

15. What’s the most painful dental procedure you’ve  had?

The Novocain is the painful part. Ugh.

16. What is out your back door?

A deck. With no steps to the backyard. We’ve gotta  do something about that.

17. Any plans for Friday night?

Glad you asked. I’ll be with my family in DISNEY  WORLD!!!!!!!!

18. Do you like what the ocean does to your  hair?

No. It makes it feel sticky and tangly. Do you see  a pattern here? I’m not exactly a beach bum.

19. Have you ever received one of those big tins of  3 different popcorns?

Sure.

20. Have you ever been to a  planetarium?

I think so. Can’t remember when or where,  though.

21. Do you re-use towels after you  shower?

Yes, but usually just once. It kind of skeeves me  out.

22. Some things you are excited  about?

DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!! Original, aren’t  I?

But seriously, more than that, I’m excited about  watching my kids grow up, about growing old with Hubby, and about growing in my  walk with the Lord. I pray I am given the opportunity to do all of those  things.

23. What is your favorite flavor of  JELL-O?

I’d rather eat sand than any flavor of Jell-O. And  you know how I feel about sand. See #14.

24. Describe your key chain(s)?

It’s just the little electronic key fob that goes  to my Toyota and two keys (house and car).

25. Where do you keep your change?

In the zippered portion of my wallet.

26. When was the last time you spoke in front of a  large group of people?

Oh, that’s one of my four worst fears: public  speaking. It was several years ago, briefly in front of my church. I still have  nightmares.

27. What kind of winter coat do you  own?

Love my winter coat. It’s a gorgeous cerulean-blue,  3/4-length, funnel-neck wool dress coat from Ann Taylor. I wear it with  everything from blue jeans to Sunday dresses.

28. What was the weather like on your graduation  day?

Sunny and cool and windy – typical Massachusetts in  May.

29. Do you sleep with the door to your room open or  closed?

Open.
