Q&A Session #1

Yall, this is fun!!  Nothing like a little narcissism to get the blog rockin’!  Okay, I’m going to group the questions by topics.  I’ll do a few every day until I get through them.

1) I knew someone was going to ask me this one.  And I guess it’s a good place to start.  Megan asks: Have you ever or will you ever reveal your real name on your blog?  I’d tell you, but then I’d have to kill you.  Naw, I’m just kiddin’ with ya.  I don’t use my real name because it is rather unusual, and I’m afraid if I use it, I might be easier to track down (as if there are all these people out there who would care to track me down.)  I don’t plan to start using it regularly on The Blob, but I will tell you this one time.  It’s Jo-Lynne.  Now forget I ever told ya.  ‘K?

2) Georgia Mom asks: Am I the only "early riser" on the internet?

Um.  Apparently you are.  I’m always surprised by how few comments I get during the early morning hours.  I like to sit at the computer with my morning cup o’ java, but maybe we’re the only ones!  Oh, was that supposed to be a rhetorical question?  Sorry, getting carried away here.  Okay, here we go.

Do you make your bed everyday?  Hahahahaha.  That would be NO.  I would say I make our beds about 50% of the time.  I’ve tried to get in a daily habit, but that never quite took.

3)  And while we’re on housekeeping questions, Barb asks: What are your most favorite and least favorite household chores?   My most favorite household chore is vacuuming.  I find immense satisfaction in those delightful tracks the vacuum cleaner leaves on my carpet.  And my Oreck is so lightweight and easy to use that vacuuming is a breeze.  My least favorite chore?  Cleaning the bathrooms.  I detest, despise, and otherwise abhor cleaning bathrooms.

4) Girlymama wants to know:  If you could hire someone to do one household chore, what would it be? Refer to answer #3 — the bathrooms, for sure.

5) Sari asks: When do you actually *do* your ironing?   Usually about five minutes before I am ready to walk out the door wearing the wrinkled item.  Procrastination at its best!

Or do you send it out?  Now there’s an idea worthy of consideration.  I didn’t even know you COULD send ironing out.  This could seriously change my life.  I think I’m going to research professional ironing services now.  I’ll be back to answer more of your burning questions tomorrow!

If you have any questions you’d like to ask me, leave a comment on this post.

I always check my bloglines while getting ready in the mornings just don’t usually have time to comment on what I am reading.
I’m up around 5:15 a.m CST, sipping my coffee and puttering around.

Right there with you on the bathrooms. HATE them. This was a really good idea, by the way.

  3. I’ve always enjoyed vacuuming too.

I used to jump from furniture to furniture to keep from stepping on the lines after I vacuumed.

    Obsessed much???

    Blessings,
    Karla

    Bathrooms are the worst!!!

What a fun post. Might have to copy you. =)

  5. Thanks for the name answer! It’s very pretty… Very very pretty. I’m gonna be so glad to be able to think your name now instead of DCRMom when I think of you… not that there’s anything wrong with DCRMom. And yes, bathrooms. I don’t like vaccuuming, either, though. Too loud. My favorite household chore is doing laundry.

  6. nicole says:

That is not the name I would have put with your face and personality at all. Funny. Now I promise to forget it.

I do my ironing right before wearing the item as well. Why iron everything at one time?

  7. dcrmom says:

Girlyamam – Oh yes ma’am, I surely do. Is there any other way?

  8. TX Poppet says:

In nomenology (can you believe there is such a thing?) a given name with double “nn”s means a tendency to start many difficult projects enthusiastically then abandon them once they become easy. It is difficult to keep long term goals and projects going. My christian name? Joanna Lynn

  9. QUESTION: What is your favorite family pastime?

  11. I don’t like bathrooms either. But hubby enjoys cleaning them so it has worked out great for me :)

I LOVE vacuum lines. Do you vac your way out of a room so it looks just perfect?? (For 3 seconds until your kids all run through it?)

  21. Holly says:

I usually read blogs in the morning too with my cup o joe. I am also a last minute ironer. I’ve never understood those people that can iron ahead of time. They scare me.

  22. OMG… you’re real name! Oh, right. I don’t even remember what you just said, cause it’s already gone….hee, hee.

  23. Hi, I stopped by and loved the 20 questions!!!!! How fun!
I love your name. Part of your name is my middle name. I won’t give it away in case you want to delete anything related to your name.
Oh, so many similarities. I LOVE to vacuum also! I hate bathrooms, but with 3 boys (and let us not forget hubby), it’s a CONSTANT chore.
I know Pennsylvania is pretty big, but was the plane crash of 9/11 anywhere near you?
It’s hard for me to go back also, I get an instant worry headache every time I even think of it.
Oh! I have a question – do you watch Oprah???? Do you absolutely love her?
I was baptized Presbyterian and have always wanted to go back, but haven’t found the right one. Right now I’m a member of the Methodist Church (which actually is closely related to the Presbyterians).
Ok, enough of me already, I’ve had way too much coffee this afternoon…… my son’s football is kicking my butt……

I guess I missed this, I’ve been reading all your other posts about your 20 questions and missed the one where you answered mine!
    :-)

Most dry cleaning places will do a “press only” if you want to wash your shirts/whatever and bring them in. I’ve been saved a few times by that, and usually for under about $15 or so. (yes, I let a lot of stuff pile up to get to that point!)
