One more thing before you go running off to enter more giveaways. My What I Learned This Week carnival starts tomorrow. Why don’t you plan to play along?
My best valentines day gift ever was some homemade truffles! Very sweet, both the thought and the candy.
Best: Flowers that my husband sent to my office he was on call and wouldn’t be home for a Valentines Dinner. He even remembered that my favorite flower is the gerbera daisy.
Worst: Guess it’s a good thing that I can’t think of a ‘worst.’ (But I have received a toilet and a trash can as gifts before!)
Last year on Valentine’s Day I asked my husband to bring me an orange from the kitchen… he peeled it for me and crafted a cute little heart out of the peel. It’s a small gift but it is still sitting on my window ledge. One of my favorite Valentine’s Day gifts (although the AMAZING roses I got when we were dating are a close second)!
This is very sad I only ever got one valentine’s gift and it was from my ex fiance’
My fave galaxy chocolates
A t shirt for my fave football team
Hugo new perfume
and an album with the engagement party pics
looking forward to my second gift !!!
I think my worst “gift” was the boyfriend who broke up with me right before V-day…not much a romantic.
My best gift was finding out I was pregnant with our second child.
Thanks for the great giveaway!
I’d love to win this for the laptop I have yet to own but will someday! Worst Valentine ever? Hmm… I think I’ve only had GOOD Valentine’s Days to be honest! : )
Steph
I think my worst valentine’s day gifts was a box of those candy hearts. Blech LOL
My best one was the year my mom got me some hair products. I was in high school and not dating that year so it really touched me that she knew that I would really appreciate being thought of.
hematopoiesis at hotmail dot com
When I was a senior in high school my then boyfriend got me a plastic cup covered in hearts. The fact that it was a cup wasn’t what made it so bad. It’s the fact that he then stuck a dorky pin THROUGH the front of the cup. Can’t really use a cup with HOLES IN IT!!!
Worst: A used card. Don’t even ask, but yes I got a used card LOL
Best: A day off. Being a mom is a 24/7 job. A whole day off to do my own thing was wonderful.
Best gift: Was for my hubby, not me, and that was sending him flowers to his work and telling him he was going to be a dad again
Worst gift: Was getting nothing, not even a card. Husband was away actually looking for houses in another state and he went to Chick-Fil-A with our realtor ( a man too) for dinner.
I’d love to win this because my laptop bag broke over 6 months ago.
My worst present? Really, I haven’t gotten any.
The best? Finding out I was pregnant with my first.
Best-easy, Husband proposed on Valentine’s Day! Tiffany’s, yay me!
Worst-The last few have been pretty dumpy…no sitter:P C’mon Husband, you can’t coat forever on that ring;)
My best Valentines ever was when my then boyfriend (now husband) SURPRISED me with a trip to Jamaica! I had never been able to afford a vacation before. It was amazing. Worst? I’ve had a lot of those. I had a boyfriend break up with me and ask for his opal ring back, both of which I adored, for Valentines. Funny how the pressure of that day brings things to a head one way or another. Cary
Best: the puppy on Valentines day that resulted in a baby nine months later
worst: nothing? We don’t really do ‘big things’ just cards and i love yous.
Tweeted it!
Best Valentine’s Day ever – Husband – then boyfriend – surprised me in parking lot of the restaurant I worked in with V-day gifts. I’d had to work late and thought we wouldn’t see each other. Was an awesome surprise.
Worst Valentine’s ever – When my husband was in the military and we couldn’t see or talk to each other. He was in a training session and had no access to phone or computer. It sucked!
Wow you’re going to make us work at this huh?
Best – The 1st time I was pregnant DH wrote this amazing card about how happy he was to be having a baby with me and how much he loved me and all the mushy stuff that I just love.
Worst – getting nothing because he forgot not even a card.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a “bad” Valentine’s gift, though I remember that I hated V-day when I didn’t have a boyfriend to give me something lol. One boyfriend gave me 18 roses and a singing teddy bear, that was my first Vday gift, and probably my favorite because I felt so special. My Hubby always gets me white roses (my favorite) and a sweet card telling me how much he loves me.
Posted on Twitter
Best: Roses when we were still dating and also a spongebob playstation controller.
Worst: Nothing. As in last VDay I got nothing
And as a side note, he bought me a shotgun for Christmas. I realize that for some this is a dream come true, but not me. Not ever. Oi vay!
Best: My fiance’ had flowers delivered to my workplace (he’s not one to send flowers) then he picked the kids up from school, dropped them at the sitter and we were off to a quiet dinner by ourselves!
Worst: 12 pk Mt Dew & Peanut Butter Twix (the big box like from Sam’s)
My best was an engagement ring.
The worst was a perfume set that was something I would never choose.
Hmmmm…my husband and I try to give little, practical gifts for Valentine’s day since we celebrate our anniversary in January. The best one I gave (a little twist, I know, to your request) was a needle for a pump. My husband is a huge college basketball fan and wanted to shoot some hoops, but his basketball was flat. It cost all of $2, but made him so happy! I don’t think I’ve ever received a bad Valentine’s Day gift…
Best ~ My best valentines was probably my first one with my husband. We had just started talking the month before, so for vday we went to the movies. He ended up asking me out the next day, planned to on vday but chickened out. Too funny, lol. Brings back good memories though.
Worst ~ probably one year in school when I didn’t get a ton of cards. Makes you feel silly!
Before my husband and myself were married the first Valentines gift he gave me was … Spark Plugs for my car. I wasn’t happy about the gift until he said … You spark my interest so I bought you spark plugs … I know he was just trying to get out of trouble but after 21 years of marriage I guess he did mean it. He is my Sparkie!

Oh my gosh that is so beautiful!
Well, the worst V-day gift would definitely have to be nothing — no gift, no card. We aren’t really gift people, so that’s expected, but after one disappointment, I specifically asked for a card and didn’t get it!!
Best — we do usually go out to a nice dinner, and I can’t think of one in particular, but if HE planned it all, it was a good thing.
The best: Scavenger hunt last year to find my new Coach purse
The worst: Lingerie (because, yeah, well.)
I subscribe already!
My dh and I have both of our birthdays in February, so we rarely celebrate Valentine’s Day. However he always makes it special in some way or another. We will usually have a nicer dinner…although with 3 kids now, that dinner has to be not too nice — I don’t want really good food ending up on the floor or in someone’s hair
tweeted it! @prairiemama1
Best and worst tied into one: My first vday with boyfriend (now hubby). He took me to a local park and wanted to sit out by the lake. IT WAS FREEZING – snowing, middle of winter. That was the worst part. While we were out there, he gave me a heart-shaped ruby necklace/earrings set that’s become a favorite.
My best Valentine’s present was last year. We don’t go all out for anniversaries or V-day, but last year my husband took me out to supper and very nice restaurant. We sat down and I was casually looking around at the other tables and the centerpieces. I noticed ours was different and there was a business card at the base.I thought the owner was letting local florists do centerpieces and put out cards.I picked it up and it was from HIM! He had them delivered before we got there. It was a beautiful bouquet of yet unopened purple tulips. I’m not a flower person, but I adored those flowers. I still have a picture of them as my cell phone wallpaper.
My hubby and I don’t really do gifts for Valentine’s Day, we prefer going out on a date. But my favorite Valentine’s Day gift might be a sweet craft my oldest made for me in preschool. Handprints, of course. Worst gift? I can’t think of one. My grandma likes to wrap up random junk from her house for gifts. She even leaves the dust on it. Does that count?
Worst: last year when I got nothing because the flu moved into Seth’s big ol’ heart and made him forget.
Best: Seth makes me a card every year. The year before last he made me a steamy collage card indicating that he loved me a lot and thought I was super HOT even though I was surprise pregnant and grumpy.
My best valentine’s gift was a hot tub (which was also for our 25th anniversary). The worst was early in our marriage, when hubby was clueless, he received a set of steak knives from a vendor and yep..he gave them to me!
Best? On our first Valentine’s Day, Hubs (who was not yet Hubs!) gave me several daffodils that he had picked out in the countryside. He knew they were my favorite.
Worst? The next year, he gave me a Winnie-the-Pooh baseball hat. Yeah.

What a gorgeous bag. I just got a laptop for my birthday so this would be PERFECT.
It’s not exactly a present, but my best Valentine’s Day was the year we closed on our house on Feb. 14! I was pregnant with my first baby and really wanted to be settled by the end of spring. My husband bent over backwards to make that happen, and closing on V-Day was the sweetest touch.
Best Valentine Day: Getting a cute Valentine plush
bunny from my husband. When the paw is squeezed, the
bunny says, Some bunny loves you.
Worst Valentine Day: All the valentine days when I did
not receive anything at all, not even a verbal greeting.
Such a cute idea!
Best Valentine’s Day gift ever:
My then boyfriend flew down to visit me from Boston and surprised me with chocolate and a poem he wrote himself. Then he proceeded to make me dinner (which he overcooked) – it was delicious anyways. I was just happy that I got to spend time with him for an entire week!
Worst Valentine’s Day gift ever:
I found out my boyfriend of the time (different from the one above) was cheating on me – with multiple girls. Yes, on Valentine’s Day, I found out he was with someone else. (cue the booing and hissing)
I don’t get Valentine’s gifts. My hubby is of the mindset that it’s a Hallmark holiday (and he’s right) but nonetheless, it would be nice to get a little somethin’ now and then. Right? So my worst gift and my best gift are both non-existent.
I tweeted! http://twitter.com/blueviolet/status/1149182628
Best~ My husband made me a home made photo album/scrap book of our travels together while we were dating/engaged.
Worst- I went on a first date on Valentines day (bad idea to start) and another guy who had a crush on me showed up half an hour before my date to bring me a present! I quickly got him out the door and my real date showed up with a bad attitude and took me to dinner moaning the whole night about how he hated valentines day!! Should have gone with the first guy huh????
I tweeted the link too!!
My worst Valentine’s Day is all the days I was alone. Now I spend each Valentine’s Day with my husband and kids. I always look forward to those yummy assorted chocolates each year.
The worst Valentine’s gift I ever got was a vcr. That was the 1st valentines after I got married!
The best was a massage from my hubby. That was last year!
So, he’s improving
Best gift–big stuffed red and white gorilla and candy (chocolate/pink trimmed heart)from my penpal Trina in West Virginia.
Worst Valentine’s Day–sitting by myself in a restaurant….watching people coming and going out of a nearby floral shop with roses and bouquets~~~knowing I wouldn’t be getting anything like that from anybody…feeling utterly alone! Sigh
My best Valentine’s gift was my DD. I know it sounds corny and lame but it’s true. She was born on the 11th of February almost 4 yrs ago, and she’s the most loving and caring kid I’ve ever seen. (I know I’m biased, being her mother and all… but it’s true!) She’s always willing to share, and always makes sure everyone has enough food at any meal time or snack time. She’s the best gift I could ever receive and she just happens to have been born just a few days before Valentine’s Day. So that’s my best Valentine’s gift.
The best and worst happened at the same time…
After a bad (very bad) hair experience, I had shied away from having my hair cut/styled/touched and had fallen into a hair slump. Clip, ponytail, limp described my style. Already feeling frumpy from pregnancy, this made me very grouchy. My sweet husband arranged for me to go to a salon and get my hair done. He consulted with the stylist prior to my appointment about cut I would like. (It was the height of the “Rachel” shag from friends)
When I arrived, we talked briefly about the new shag style and she went to work. When she was finished, it was so NOT the “Rachel” cut…it was awful! But how do you say fix this to a stylist who is now bringing out of the back room an enormous box of chocolate and a vase of roses?!
So the best~ for my husbands thoughtfulness in knowing that a new look would help me feel better about myself. The worst~ that hair cut just made me stay away from salons all over again.
Best Gift: Surprise trip to the Virgin Islands
Worst Valentine’s Day: When my husband forgot!
Best ever, Diamond heart necklace. Worst He sent it to make up for the fact that he was canceling his Valentine weekend trip to see me so he could hang out with his frat Brothers in DC.
Hey Jo-Lynne,
Can I just tell ya how badly I wanna win this? You have no idea!
My FAVORITE Valentine’s is easy–it’s when my husband (then boyfriend) MADE me a book (http://pensieve.typepad.com/pensieve/2008/02/my-favorite-val.html) To this day, it’s one of my favorite gifts for ANY occasion!
I can’t think of a bad one, really…though it was probably 3 years ago when we were in one of those “rough” seasons….
Anyway…make my day??? I LOST my giveaway post 5 minutes before the giveaway linky went live in a way I’ve never lost a post before (too hard to explain). I NEED a “happy” and this darlin’ lappy bag could be it! (I’ll tweet latah, too)
.
best: diamonds
worst: forgetting flowers
let’s see, best was the year my sweetie actually remembered v-day and got me a rose (he never gets flowers and usually forgets holidays…)…….
worst would def. be in high school when someone broke up with me that day, by proxy!!
The worst Valentines day present (other then none at all) was a little chocolate sampler (4pieces) that was so old and nasty all the chocolate had turned white.
The best was a bouquet of Daisy’s. I know people think roses or jewelry are the best but I love Daisy’s and the person who got me flowers took the time to find out what my favorite flower was and also realized I don’t wear jewelry hardly at all.
The worst Valentine’s day present? a package of socks. The guy I was dating was from Ghana and new to the country and our customs. He thought the gift had to be practical or something. The best Vday present was from Hubby and was a pair of diamond and sapphire earrings.
Very sweet!
Best- a hot tub!
Worst-In high school when people ordered tulips for their friends for Vday and I didnt get any.
The best one was last year when my husband was abroad and took a flight a day early so he could spend valentines day with a very pregnant me and pamper me.
My husband gave me a bouquet of wooden spoons. It was tied with a bow just like he was giving me flowers. I was thrilled because I really needed those spoons!
I just gave the contest a good Tweet!
I’ve never really celebrated Valentine’s Day. My most memorable gift was a dozen roses, though. My boyfriend and I were going to be apart for February 14, so he gave me roses on the 13th. Those were the first flowers he had ever given me.
This year, we’re going to be embarking on a road trip to New York City starting on Valentine’s Day, by coincidence. Something tells me we’re going to end up eating McDonald’s on the big day. No big loss, though.
I’ve been trying to comment since this morning and finally got the form to work a few minutes ago – but my comment appears to be anonymous now? Just in case, the comment about a road trip to NYC is from me, Kaitlin (kaitlinklaas[at]gmail[dot]com)
Best: He planned a sitter for the whole night! Yes, that was the best gift
We enjoyed each other’s company and I didn’t have to do anything!
Worst: Well the worst had to be tires for my car. Seriously. That is one of the reasons he is now my ex! LOL
I would love to win this! Thanks for the great giveaway! janine at lovegiveaways.com
I blogged!
http://blog.lovegiveaways.com/2009/01/bloggy-carnival.html
Best – A silver Guess? watch with a baby pink face. I saw it in the store a few weeks before and told him I liked it and he remembered.
Worst – An Eeyore sweatshirt. Eww
My best Valentine’s gift is the one I’m getting this year from my husband. My in-laws are watching our daughter, and we’re going away for the weekend. I’m really looking forward to it.
Hubs and I don’t do Valentines Day, except for cards, so I had to go back to my childhood for this.
In fourth grade, I got 2 boxes of candy from 2 different boys. No other girl got anything extra, so of course, I thought I was hot stuff:) Then, in fifth grade, I was expecting something extra, from at least one boy, you know! And…I got nothing! So that was my best and worst:)
PS Red is soooooo my favorite color in the wholewideworld!
My best Valentines Gift was a scavenger hunt my now husband sent me on – at each place there was a rose with a note. At the final destination he was present with a rose and a song that he wrote (and then sang) for me. Hands down best.
My worst was the many V-days at school when lots of gals received flowers or special notes and I did not. What made that bearable is the fact that my Dad always blessed me and my sister with chocolates at home asking us to be his valentine too. Mom always got more chocolates then us of course. You know what? He still does this today and it still makes me feel very special.
My worst gift would be candy from my husband. I was on a diet and said, “NO candy”. They were delicious truffles, though.
My best gift would have to be light purple roses on my first Valentine’s Day as a Mommy. He delivered them himself and left hem on the kitchen table when he knew I would be away from the house.
And I link to you on my blog…because I heart you!
“young love” – my “boyfriend” in the 6th and 7th grades gave me the HUGE heart shaped candy for 2 years. But the funnest was when he planned it with my mom and sister and snuck into my bedroom and hide the box of candy under my bed and left notes so I would go on a “Hunt” to find it.
The best with my husband – when he and a bunch of our friends planned a Valentine dinner – in a great restaurant and the really smoozed all of us – it was great!
Ummmmmm, first off I WANT THAT BAG FOR MY LAPTOP. Now that I have that off my chest… here’s my VDay favorite:
Two (or three?) years ago my hubby got me a card and inside the card was a round button pin that said “Perfect Wife”. He asked if giving that to me counted as jewelry since I’m always dropping hints about jewelry I love and asking him why he doesn’t shower me with more sparkly things to wear!
) I have worn it proudly every VDay since– my silliest piece of jewelry!
My WORST was my junior year in high school. I was dating this big dumb football player and he took me to Arby’s for dinner where he proceeded to consume FIVE FOR FIVE and it was DISGUSTING to watch. And THAT? THAT. Was. MY. PRESENT. Dinner at Arby’s!!
My best was probably last year, hubby got me a memory foam mattress topper and it is the best! I loves me so SLEEP!! That ties with my first cell phone, which he got me when I was in college. We weren’t married yet then!
I would have to say the worst V-Day gift was…no gift at all. You know…that lonely V-Day when you had no significant other to even buy you a gift??? But then, my best V-Day gift ever was the year that my then-boyfriend (now-husband) proposed to me!
I’m not sure if it was my worse Valentine’s Day but I do feel like I may have made it his worse Valentine’s Day. When I was in sixth grade a boy who liked me gave me one of those little heart boxes with chocolates. I really didn’t like him, not as a boyfriend, so I told him that I was allergic to chocolate. ALLERGIC TO CHOCOLATE? I was so dumb and really feel bad about it now.
Thankfully he is married now so I don’t feel like I scared him for life, but I do think about that every Valentine’s Day. Geesh, allergic to chocolate…
That is one beautiful bag! Okay, this is quite pathetic, but I honestly have not received many Valentine’s Day gifts. I’ve gotten the usual gifts from boyfriends in high school – roses and stuffed animals but my husband and I are not big on the “minor” holidays. If I had to choose, I would say the worst gift would be the very small stuffed bear I received in high school and the best gift would be the gift card to Sephora my husband gave me a few years ago.
My best MUST have involved chocolate, worst must NOT have involved chocolate. I’ve got priorities after all!
My favorite Valentine’s Day gift ever, was our first positive pregnancy test!!! 8 months later we had our first daughter!
My husband and I have a saying *You are the Zig to my Zag*. He puts the ice in the glasses, I pour the tea. He folds the clothes, I put them away. Get it? Zig to Zag. A few years ago, he made me a GIANT *Z* out of red card stock explaining how the Z in zag to zag meant the world to him. He still has it after 33 years!
I would love to have this bag for my laptop, but could not justify spending the money for it anytime soon!
Worst: My boyfriend at 19 was lying about working overtime when he was out partying. He led me to believe it was to buy me an engagement ring. SO when I got a fake rose from 7-11 instead and found out he had been cheating on me at these parties…I think that was the worst at the time. However, it truly turned out for the best. I am now so glad I did NOT marry that boy.
Best: My best Valentine’s Day has to be when my hubby asked my dad for my hand in marriage and then worked very hard to make it a wonderful day for me. He has turned out to be the man of my prayers, even though there were a few times in the past I wondered! God has blessed us immensely. Now every Valentine’s Day we spend together building upon traditions that have become significant to us!
Thank you so much and blessings to you!
My favorite valentines gift was roses that my parents gave me.
Worst when I think about it I don’t recall getting anything really strange or weird, however one year my parents had planned to go out to a fancy restaurant for valentines, my dad made the reservations, they went to the restaurant only to find out that the restaurant had a set menu for the night, and it was all fish entrees, which was bad for my mom since she hates fish. My parents ended up having Burger King for dinner that night!
Thanks again!
I have had some notorious bad, awful, horrible valentines days. I’ve actually never had some fabulous valentines gifts so I’ve instead decided to share TWO of my bad ones.
My freshman year of college I just feel totally in love with this boy, he went to college about 4-5 hours away and we would drive to see each other all the time, I did most of the driving, but in my love-stupor I didn’t mind. One valentines day weekend after we had hit some rough patches I said “Are you at least going to come see me for Valentines Day?” and his response was “Well, 4 hours is a long way to drive JUST TO SEE YOU.” He did end up driving down to see me, I took him out to dinner, gave him an adorable valentines gift and he just looked at me blankly and said “oh, well, I didn’t get you anything” THEN! He actually got one of the valentines on of the students in the classroom I was working in had given me and wrote his name in the “from” area. Happy Valentines day! pfft!
The second was from the boy I am currently dating, he is extremely shy and hates using the telephone. We were part of a long distance relationship for 3 years before I graduated from college and moved up to Seattle with him, he had taken a picture of us and had it made into a puzzle, but it never made it to my house. I had to make all the phone calls to find out why it wasn’t delivered and then once I did get it was so poorly made that the pieces wouldn’t fit together. On the bright side, it is the thought that counts and it is a cute idea. I guess I’ll keep him around for a while.
My husband and I have never really exchanged Valentine’s Day gifts. We’ve always been saving for something special when Valentines Day rolls around – our wedding, our house, new furniture, etc. – so we’ve always just exchanged cards. He usually stops at Wegman’s on the way home and buys me gerbera daisies though. AEK was born right before Valentine’s Day last year and he bought me diamond earrings when she was born as a “push present.” Maybe that should count…
Worst: half eaten hershey kiss from my husband. It was a gift I had given him (whole of course) that he forgot that I had given him and he also forgot that he opened it and took a bite out of and put back in the box. He forgot it was Valentine’s Day and grabbed that put it in a gift bag and wa la! Do you know when I took the kiss out of it’s box and saw it half eaten he stammered “it came that way!” Can you say DOG HOUSE!
Best: a beautiful crystal carousel with gold tipped carousel horses. This was when we first were dating 15 years ago and he knew how much I loved Carousel’s.
I guess I don’t have any wonderful Valentine’s Day gifts. My husband bought me a large, ugly corsage one time. I hate those big things. They make me feel old; it’s something my mom would wear.
Great giveaway. I’ve wanted a laptop bag in forever. I always borrow my son’s bag when I go somewhere.
the best gift was when my girlfriend bought me the lord of the rings extended editions, and put them in box surrounded by mini chocolates !
the worst gift had to be a “how to organize your clutter book”… i know im untidy i dont need her reminding me
Best… My Birthday is the day before V-day. When I was 15 years old, my long distance boyfriend sent me two dozen white roses to my high school for my birthday. Two hours later I got called back to the office for two dozen red ones for v-day. Talk about one cool high school freshman. I loved it.
Worst… the year between college and husband that I spent V-day alone in a hotel room traveling for work. Yuck.
My best was the year my man asked me to be his wife. The worst was the first Valentine’s holiday after being married….he forgot!!
I am soo pathetic. I don’t have any stories about Valentine’s Day. Mostly because there hasn’t ever been anyone to celebrate with…
I would have to say that 2 years ago, on Valentine’s Day on my way to work, I was rollerblading there and ended up dislocating my knee. So, I guess that so far that has been the worst.
Best: a couple of years ago when a bunch of my single friends and I got together and ate chocolate and watched silly movies.
Worst: Breaking up with my fiance a month before valentines day
Hmmm – well, the worst has to be when my current hubby broke up with me 3 days before Valentines day over dinner. And he did it before we ate, so I really didn’t have much of an appetite that night.
Best Valentines – to be honest, don’t think there is a best. We usually only do a card for each other and the occasional dinner, but we are believers that Valentines Day is a commercial holiday and we can do special things for each other whenever we want to. And we try to do that.
Hope you comments are back up and running and you don’t have to type this.
Ha Ha – I say current hubby like I’m planning on getting a new one – just caught that!
The best was probably when my husband and kids made dinner for me and hand made cards…I’m a sap for that kind of stuff! The worst was while I was getting ready for a big V-day date with my hubby, a water main broke and our whole neighborhood was without water…right in the middle of my shower. I wrapped up my head and went to the hotel on base (we’re military!) and got a room for the night and pretended it was part of my gift to him. It turned out well in the end but it was no fun getting there
Worst-those chocolates. I hate all those filling things
Best-last year my husband had my grandmother’s ring fixed for me. The band had broken and it was pinching my skin! It was so thoughtful!
My best Valentines Day gift was diamond earrings my husband gave me last Valentines Day. The worst was all of the stuffed animals that I received from him over the prior years.
Best Valentine’s gift was a stuffed bear that I slept with for years. Worst was a big fat nothing from my husband!
I just twittered the giveaway. http://twitter.com/andiee1123/status/1150170248
The lap top tote is beautiful and I love the shade of red. My best Valentines gift was a diamond ring and my worst was some really stinky, sad looking roses from a grocery store (needless to say I am no longer with that person).
Best present: a quiet “be selfish” day to spend how I desired with no wife and mom responsibilities (a coupon that I later cashed in)
Worst present: “I’m sorry honey. I didn’t (make the time to) go get a card this week. I forgot.”
I love Valentines day so when I got a vacuum ,I felt so hurt. I wanted flowers or even a beautiful card .The kicker was the following year my husband brought home flowers for me and my sister in law. Her bunch of flowers were quite large and mine were smaller. I was hurt. He said my flowers cost more . Happy to report he is now my ex husband. Happy Valentines Day!!
My best Valentine’s Day gift was from my children. They organised a three course meal for my husband and I, complete with music piped from a CD player in the tree (we ate out of doors on our farm, under a lovely gum tree with a mosquito net for protection from flies and bugs). The children dressed in black pants and white tops to look the part of waiters.
First course was caesar salad with grape juice to drink. Main course: Atlantic salmon on a wasabi mash, and to top it off a dessert of: moist, individual chocolate cakes with raspberry sauce. It was quite a memorable occasion.
My worst was waiting for my eighth child to be born. I knew he was coming on Valentine’s Day and didn’t want to go through labour right then. After spending the day in anxst, he waited until the 15th.
Well I am going to tell you what an awesome giveaway this is and ask you to please pick me
but…. I’ll also answer your questions
The best Valentine’s Day ever (is it really sad that I’m going way back for this?) is probably in the 4th grade. You know – we all had those little Valentines shoe boxes that classmates would slip their Valentines into. There was this boy named Luke (I ended up marrying a Lucas… but not the same person) that I really ‘liked’. He put 10 cards in my box asking me to be his girlfriend. I felt like the coolest kid in the class. That was a great Valentine’s Day.
My worst Valentine’s Day…. I haven’t really had any bad Valentine’s Day but I’ll tell you about a single Valentine’s Day I had in college. Everyone was making their plans and all happy. That day, I wore my shirt to school that said ‘Love is for Losers’ (I play tennis. It is a tennis shirt. But I thought it was clever to wear it that day.) It was fun walking around the halls in that shirt that day… an especially yucky day for most single gals. I don’t even remember what I did that night… nothing too fun I’m sure. But I enjoyed the day without sulking… too much.
I sure could use this fabulous bag. Love it!
Let’s see, worse valentines gift would have to be a stuffed animal and best one would be a nice dinner with the the hubby!
My worst was in grade school from a boy I had a crush. On he wrote Hi Maureen on a ripped piece of of binder paper (my nane is Noreen!)
My best is the roses and stargazer lillies my husband buys me every year
So my best and worst valentines day has to be the same one
actually…. I was admitted to the hospital due to a cyst on my ovary
on feb 13th and was so upset because it was the first valentines day
with my boyfriend… but he made it be so wonderful by bring v day to
me… dinner, flowers and unlit candles of course… It was so cute in
a creepy hospital way lol
Hmm…best present was a gift certificate at a spa here in town.. I was totally surprised. I wish I could think of a bad valentine gift…I am a fan of the gift… generally not picky. thanks for the contest!
also blogged about you on my blog. http://www.kelleysfamilyjewels.blogspot.com
Gee, My best Valentines gift was a beautiful ruby and diamond ring my husband gave me right after my daughter was born.
My worst was a heart shaped box of old (turning white) candy! Yuck!
My best Valentines gift, was my wedding! My wedding anniversary is the 15th…6 years coming up! It was sort of a gift from my Husband who REALLY didn’t want to get married that weekend, because it was corny and cliche. But he finally agreed, knowing it would make me super happy…cliche and all!
The worst Valentines present….hmmm I am debating between a bouquet of flowers that looked to be about a week old…or a packet of peanut M&M’s taped to the outside of a greeting card.
The worst Valentines gift had to be from my now husband when we were dating and young was a pair of earings gold (fake gold) and they were cherubs and they could bend! Oh they were aweful! We still joke around about it to this day!
Thank you so much for the chance and have a lovely day!
This is the second time I’m sending this…I don’t think it went on my first try! If it did I’m sorry!
I can’t say if it was for Valentine’s Day, but I can say the sweetest gift I ever received was from my first husband. This guy was walking through the Winn Dixie parking lot selling roses and he bought me a dozen. He shook them a bit to get rid of any lose leaves and such and some of the heads fell off. He tried to fix them, but by the time he came home there were about 5 good ones left. He was so upset. And I still remember it fondly.
A chocolate shaped like a frog!
This is gorgeous. Thank you for the giveaway.
No question…..time together…a special weekend away is the best present ever. Makes you remember what you love/like so much about each other!
Thanks
Well, my BEST Valentine’s gift was my son who was born a few days before 2/14 and my worst gift was a black eye I received from running into a glass door a few days before Valentines Day. The swelling went down in time to reveal not one, but two lovely black eyes…just days before V-Day. Nice, huh?
LOVE the bag!
Best: The Valentine’s Day before my wedding when my husband gave me this necklace given to him by his parents–it was intended for his future wife (he hadn’t asked me to marry him yet)–it says “Someone Special”!
Worst: Those Valentine’s Days in high school when you don’t get a carnation, but the prettiest girl in school get a dozen or so!
Thanks for the chance to win!
My worst Valentines gift was a Proactive face kit(so cruel) and the best ever gift was my engagement ring!
My birthday is on Valentines’ Day…so it’s tough to narrow it down to one worst gift! I’d have to say the “combo” birthday V-Day gift of flowers (pretty cheap!). My best gift was a trip to one of those cheesy couples resorts in the Poconos in Pennsylvania. Cheesy, yes…but we had both a POOL and a champagne glass hot tub in our room!
Hmm I honestly can’t think of a bad gift. I guess that is lucky eh?
Best gift is probably just the one that is the sweetest memory for me. The first valentines my husband and I were together, we had just begun dating. He gave me a card and candy in the morning before work. Then I received a big beautiful bouqet of roses at work. That night we had pizza and watched a movie in with my daughter and his daughter. It was very special and was truly the first Valentine’s day I ever enjoyed.
great giveaway!
My best would have to be the year I called my husband on his way home from work and asked him to bring a bag of potting soil. My sons and I were making these cute little sweet pea flower pots for their teachers.
We finished the little pots and we were sitting around watching tv. My husband kept giving me this odd look and asking if the dirt was okay. Well, it was potting soil, so yeah it was okay. He finally said something about me being clueless.
I had to figure out what he was talking about. I went back to the bag of potting soil, opened it and moved the dirt around in there and saw another blue bag. I had seen it before, but figured it was special food or something. I pulled it out this time and opened it to find a jeweler’s box. I immediately started crying.
Inside the box was a little Valentine’s card and a beautiful XO diamond bracelet. The BEST present EVER and the sweetest way to get it.
The worst would have to be each time he has been deployed and I didn’t even get a phone call. =-(
Wow, sorry about the novel. LOL
Cece
My husband and I started dating in high school, but went to different schools. One Valentine’s I started finding all of these notes and little gifts from him in all my classes. It turns out he had given all the notes and things to my best friend, and she had been sneaking them into my notebooks when I wasn’t looking. After school he came over to my house with my fav flowers, birds of paradise. No wonder I married him!
My Best V-day gift was my lovely pink laptop, flowers, candy, perfume and a sweet card a few years ago.
The worst I don’t know I am not sure yet maybe this v-day lol…JUST JOKING
Best Valentines Gift would have to be the first real gift that I got on the special day. I got some chocolates from the family I nannied. They knew that I needed some extra love and they were so sweet and took me out to dinner too.
Worst gift would have to be while I was single and had no one special to spend the day with…
Well this Valentines day will be great! I have a very loving husband who adores me and we have two boys so even if I don’t get a gift I know that I am very loved!!!
Sara
best-engagement ring. Happiest day of my life for a while
worst-matching toilet seat rug, bathroom rug and toilet paper cover
My best valentine’s gift was when I was 8 months pregnant with my son and had been on bed rest for quite some time and my husband arranged for me to have a massage by an expert in pregnancy massages. He even went as far as checking with my doctor to ensure that it would be okay.
My worst Valentine’s gift was getting no gift at all, no dinner, nada. The date just escaped him.
ndair4ce@cox.net
This sounds like a cop out but I rarely ever GET Valentine’s Day presents – and THAT’s the worst! I could instead tell you about the time my hubby bought me a slip thinking it was a nightgown — BECAUSE HE WAS TOO EMBARRASSED so he practically grabbed something and ran. =P
The sweetest gift my hubs has ever given me was a bracelet he bought for our first anniversary. I still have that. And thinking about it now – I should wear that more often.
My worst Valentines gift was the year my husband just totally flaked and forgot about it. I make sure that won’t happen again.
My best Valentines gift was our first year together, coming home from work to candles and roses, with a bath drawn he shocked me! It was lovely.
Okay, Tweeted and done. Hope I win, I’d hate to disappoint my Mac. =P
My best Valentines gift was the year my husband proposed. A beautiful restaurant on the waterfront in Seattle; he set up the whole thing with the manager and I can remember every second of that evening! He put SO much thought into every moment!
The worst? A pack of cigarettes…I kid you not! And no, it wasn’t from my now dear hubby…this was WAY before him. Funny thing is I was trying to quit at the time but he thought I was too crabby.
first off i carry a laptop to and from work everyday so a new bag would be splendid. Now onto business…what was my best/worst v’day gift??? Yikes…I can’t remember one single v’day we don’t do much to celebrate that holiday here. We usually do dinner and flowers at home. Boring I know but those are the times you cherish right? Maybe the best v’day is this year??? I just asked dh what was our worst/favorite and he said oh yeah that’s right around the corner….i better get moving. So it is possible in a couple weeks it will be the best v’day ever.
Totally sweet!!
So… the best gift was a promise ring from my now husband, eight years ago. And the worst… a stuffed cat. That sounds weird, I mean a stuffed toy cat. I don’t like cats.
My best valentine’s was 2 years ago when my husband suprised me with a new wedding ring that was much bigger than my 1st one.
sadly, my worst gift is no gift. the best was the year dh surprised me with a sitter, and we had a night out to dinner with no kids!!
Oooooh, that’s is simply gorgeous!
So, best and wost, huh? Okay, you asked for it. The best was probably the first Valentine’s Day hubby and I had. He sent 2 dozen roses to work. All the gals (and all married except me!) told me that if I didn’t marry him, they would. I did, and we are happily still going strong 15 years later. And, he’s still sends flowers.
Worst. Okay, I don’t really have a worst but I have a strange – does that count? We were living in Japan at the time and hubby was in charge of dinner. He came home with pork chops … cut into the shape of a heart! Seriously. Cute, but odd.
I dont really have a worse… although one year I just got some chocolate. not much thought. My best was from my husband. he made me a card and got me a few things that had a meaning behind them. =)
One year for Valentine’s Day, my hubby (then he was my boyfriend) got me 3 dozen roses! He usually would give me 3 roses to represent “I Love You” but that year, I got 3 dozen! 1 dozen for each word!
My best Valentine’s present was last year when I got a surprise weekend at a cabin in the mountains. It was so cozy and romantic tucked by in the woods. We spent the night either curled up by the fire or enjoying the hot tub.
Thanks!
April

My best valentine’s day gift ever was really just a bunch of pieces of paper, but it was the most adorable thing ever. My boyfriend of 3 years had cut out at least a hundred hearts in different colored paper and wrote a different message on each one and hid them all over my house. I was finding little notes for months!
The worst ever was a date with a guy that I didn’t really want to be out with but I also didn’t want to be home alone on VDay. So we went to a bar and I had the worst time. Totally not worth it.
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
Best V-day gift was 2001 hubby sent me 2 dozen roses to work – I was VERY pregnant with boy #1, one dozen was from him and the other was from our unborn son! The florist was crying! Too sweet! To top it all off, he gave me my diamond ring – I didn’t have one when we got married. He saved for an entire year to buy it! Best V-day EVER!
Thanks!
Worst: I’d been going with a guy from a different school for over a year, and when I heard that he’d gotten flowers & candy that day from my spies I knew he’d be bringing them to me later that day when his bus came to our voc. center. I knew I was wrong, however, when another spy called to tell me that he gave those to my BEST FRIEND in his school! Her boyfriend that went to my school was pretty miserable about the whole thing too… what a sweet way to break up and stab your best buddy in the back, huh?
BEST: A year later, after above ex was so miserable with Ms. Drama Queen and pining for me, he ended up coming to MY school Valentine’s dance looking for me. In addition to being thrown out of the dance for not being with a student from my school, he had the pleasure of seeing me dancing very happily with my NEW boyfriend! Now THAT was sweet revenge, lol!
micaela6955 at msn dot com
My best was when my hubby (then boyfriend) gave me a dozen roses and attached a paper heart to each rose. And on the heart was a reason why he loved me. My worst….not getting anything.
Best V-day gift ever–a homemade Valentine card made by my then-boyfriend, four-years-later-husband’s 5th grade class. It was sent to the school where I was teaching at the time. How cute is that!?
Thanks for the give-away!
:*)

Heck, I think all the men that comment here should win a prize! (both of us).
I can’t pick one best Valentine’s Day gift because every day with my wife is Valentines! And yes, I tell her that all the time. Am I a swell guy or what?
My favorite gift I gave my wife was having a barbershop quartet show up at our Valentines Dinner and sing “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” to her. That was our 2nd Valentines and the gifts have been downhill since.
You have no idea how much I need this! I’m going to be so horrified carrying around my laptop in a Target bag during BlissDom.
Best and worst are the same gift…given by me.
Here’s the best part:
I had been dating my now-Hubster for a few months. I was head over heels and decided that I was going to knit my man a beautiful scarf for Valentines.
Only, I didn’t know how to knit. So I taught myself. I was working (for a paycheck) in those days and I worked on that thing constantly. I would knit on airplanes when I travelled. (Can’t do that anymore)
It should have taken me about 3 hours to finish the thing but I worked on it for weeks and it still wasn’t finished. I wrapped it up for him (with the knitting needles still in it) and promised to finish it the following weekend. He was so touched and thought it was the sweetest gift he’d ever received.
Here’s the worst part:
We moved 6 months ago and found that scarf in a bag in the basement. Knitting needles still in place. It’s been over 10 years since I started it.

Pick me… great giveaway…
Just kidding. LOL
My favorite Valentine’s Gift – Hummm…that’s a tough one as I can’t remember getting a valentine’s day gift from my husband. My first niece was born on February 13th so that was definately a great Valentine’s Day gift!
I blogged about your giveaway on my blog – http://startenjoyinglife.blogspot.com
My worst was a crumpled card that he didn’t even sign just put his initials.
My best was a flower and balloon bouquet with a cute stuffed animal, candy and a card. He also cooked me dinner.
My worst Valentines gift ever was a big ole bag of mint chocolates from my husband. I hate mint and chocolate. Not sure how he missed that lil tidbit about me but he knows now.
Best: I am a simple girl so my best VDay was getting peanut butter cups and hockey tickets to the Beanpot Tourny, which is a huge college hockey tourny in Boston.
Worst: Last year both my roommates broke up with their boyfriends a week before VDay and I was very single so we got really drunk together and played in a snow storm. I know it doesn’t sound like the worst but the hangover the next day was rough. And despite the snow classes weren’t cancelled.

I also blogged about it here

My favorite Valentine’s Day gift was a bottle of code red mt. dew this guy in college gave me because he was crushing on me. It showed me he was listening (‘cuz I only told him once it was my favorite) and it was very sweet.
My best Valentine’s gift was a day at the spa – mani/pedi, massage, facial and lunch! It was fabulous – I would love another one………soon
I honestly cannot think of my worst, though……a couple of years ago my hubby bought me a purse that I did not care for. I tried, but I ended up returning it.
Best: My hubby gave me a Coach heart keyfob for Valentine’s a few years back.
Worst: I honestly don’t think I have one for that. I appreciate any tokens of love I have gotten, big or small (yes, seriously).
And I would LOVE LOVE LOVE this laptop case. It is gorgeous. I carry mine to work by hand because the bag my job gave me was used and it broke.
Great giveaway, thanks!
The worse Valentine’s Day gift was the bouquet of flowers my husband sent me. He knows I’m deathly allergic to Stargazer Lillies and the florist does too but must have read the order wrong because I received a bouquet of the Lillies instead of roses. We joke about it now how he tried to have me killed.
I also Tweeted about your contest here: http://twitter.com/laurie_pooh/status/1150747711
Best: Silky Blue Nighties from my hubby.
Worst: Those Valentine’s Days without a valentine…and no chocolate!
Red is a great color on my & my laptop, by the way!
Ready with a Michigan addy!

Best: My now-husband proposed to me on Valentines Day (even though I was walking with a cane and drugged up on a LOT of pain meds) I have had a hate-hate relationship with V-Day and he gave his best effort and a huge ring to change that.
Worst: Back in my 20′s I was dating someone, and had plans with him for V-Day. He called an hour after he was supposed to pick me up and broke up with me ON THE PHONE. Not learning my lesson, I started dating him again the following fall, only to have him show up to my house the 2nd V-Day – late – with another girl in the car – and tell me he had to cancel dinner reservations he had planned because he was sick. Funny, he looked really good all dressed up with another girl in the car for being sick.
I also tweeted about it from Tweet Deck:

My best gift was this chocolate-scented dog from my so, just a few months after we started dating. I wasn’t expecting anything (don’t ask me why), so the surprise is what made it so great. He’s surpased that every year, but the first is always the best. I don’t, fortunately, have a worst gift…
My best Valentines’ gift ever was from my new Dad. He bought me a rose in a vase, the first one I had ever had, the first year he was with mom.
My worst Valentines’ gift was the three years I was married, when my ex didn’t get me anything, because he didn’t believe in the holiday.
Wow the best gift I’ve gotten for vday is kinda funny. A few years ago I went to Central Market and picked up a bottle of wine for myself and Nerd’s favorite beer, and dinner. He came home a few hours later with roses the same bottle of wine I got (total coincidence, had never tried it) and the same bottle of beer for himself.
I’m not all that crazy about Valentines Day, I just love being with Nerd and relaxing.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Best: My favorite Valentine’s Day was when I got to pick up my friend, her husband and there new adopted baby from the airport. Then take them back to their house for a V-Day/Welcome Home Celebration.
Worst: One year in high school when I had just broken up with my boyfriend and had to spend V-Day serving at a catered V-Day dinner at my church.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I really can’t think of a worst. wow I flush out the bad ones… anyway I tweeted!
http://www.twitter.com/kristacular
My best Valentine’s Day gift was a pair of ruby earrings that my husband picked out all by himself.
Worst… this really is a toss up. I’ve had a lot of loser boyfriends who gave me things like ugly blouses. Covered in hearts. With embroidery. So not my style.
I Tweeted your giveaway. @Feelslikehome
Best – The first year we were dating on Valentine’s Day, he bought me an awesome dozen roses. Worst – After 20 years of marriage, he totally forgot to get anything. So zip for worse. On my wedding day, I would have sworn I was marrying the most romantic man in the world. But each year, he slowly lost the romance. But I love him anyway.
Let’s see my best was last year when my boyfriend came over to my friends house where I was and gave me this gorgeous diamond necklace and a beautiful rose. I haven’t had my worst yet… unless you count dorky valentines cards from when I was little… one even had my name spelled incorrectly!
I e-mailed some friends!
my best v day gift was when my husband came home from Iraq!
My favorite was a personalized necklace w/ my favorite Bible verse…my least favorite was a box of chocolates that were stale! lol
contact me at:
celeste@mail4me.com
Best? An actual night out for supper ON V-day, at my favorite restaurant.
Worst? Nothing. Nada. Nil. Seriously. Nothing.
Ok…Valentines day is also my birthday..and I ALWAYS get candy…even thought I’m trying to lose 35 lbs. The worse gift I got was when I was about 18 or 19 and my Grandmother bought me one of those sweatshirts with a puffy valentine bear picture…ugh..Cash would have been just fine!!
Okay, I’m spillin’. Best Valentine’s Day gift ever? Amethyst ring (my birthstone). Worst gift? Cheap, and I mean cheap, chocolates bought the day AFTER Valentine’s Day. I think that was worse than just not doing anything.
My favorite valentiene’s day was when I got a engagement ring in a heart shaped candy box, boy was I surprised, the worst was and mind you this is the same man several years later, was 7 roses, because that is all Krogers had left, when he came home from work 5 hours late, and in not to good of shape. Just for the record we are still together, thanks for the giveaway
The best valentines gift i ever got was a weekender at a remote beach. the food was great, it was a great way to relax and it was a blissful experience.
The worst? a pair of pink fluffy slippers. Well i wasn’t a slippers person back then, much more of the fluffy kind. besides, i was in high school!
katch05(at)gmail(dot)com
i bought my ex a dozen of white roses with blue tips (which i sprayed myself) and he gave me a carnation.
The best v-day gift would probably have to be receiving a dozen red roses at work to make all my collegues jelous.
I really can’t think of a bad Valentines Day. My husband and I don’t really exchange gifts on Valentines. We usually just get each other a card and candy. There was this one Valentines where he surprised me with a Tiffany heart charm bracelet. I love that Tiffany blue box.
My worst gift was from a boyfriend in college. A pair of racing petals for my car which he drove most of the time hmhmhm. And lucky for me almost every Valentine’s day my wonderful husband gets me the most beautifull jewelry.
I think my worst Valentine’s Day was the year I received nothing. ): The best was always the homemade cards my daughters would make.
Worst – on vacation with my girlfriend, at a beach resort with no phones in the rooms, no tv, etc. Instead, the resort “posted” messages on a board in the lobby. The entire week, my girlfriend and I went to that board looking for a Happy Valentine’s Day message from our boyfriends. Neither one of us got one. When I think of the time & energy we spent going to that stupid board for our “non existent” messages…what a waste of time.
Best – ever since I was a little girl, my Dad would always give me a Valentine’s Day gift. Every. Single. Year. Most times it was a box of chocolates, stuffed animal, or some other small gift. But I was always excited that my Dad thought of ME (in addition to my Mom) for that special day. Always made me so happy. I think he finally stopped when I got married. Kind of left it to my husband to “take over” so to speak. But as a little girl my dad always made me feel special on that day. (And yes, my husband always makes me feel special on that day too!)
one valentine DH gave me a pulsar wrist watch with rectangle dial , next year, exact same with round dial..i don’t know whether it was best or worst:).
herry123_us@live.com
ANYwhere in the world? Oh boy. Now you have a giveaway!
My best valentines present was the biggest bunch of flowers I have ever seen delivered at work while I was working interstate. Sent by my fiance – now hubby.
Thanks for the reminder, I hadnt thought of that in years
Best is the little heart pillow my daughter made me in 2nd grade – its lopsided but beautiful! Worst gift – a stuffed animal from my ex, why couldn’t he have gotten me jewelry?
Thanks!
My favorite Valentine’s Day gift was a 7 years ago. I was a new mom and back then if I got a shower a day I was thrilled. My husband surprised me with a gift certificate to a spa. It had the works, a massage, a facial, manicure, pedicure, hair cut and style. So after a day of pampering I come home and find my husband all dressed up, a new dress, shoes, and my nylons laying on the bed. He had arranged for my sister to take our daughter overnight and he took me out to a real fancy dinner and even booked a hotel room for us for the night.
The worst was when we were dating and he got me this long sleeved tye dyed t- shirt with a big yellow Have A NICE DAY smiley face on it. I don’t know what he was thinking.
Just Tweeted about it
@EatWithoutGuilt: The COOLEST contest for us women who want to look stylish carrying our laptops. You’ve GOT to check it out: http://tinyurl.com/bobohy
Worst has to be this:
I’m 17. A boy that I call a friend gives me his grandmother’s diamond heart next- Yes it was real. I was in shock. I didn’t keep it-I gave it back. He wanted to be more than friends and I didn’t. Broke his heart. AND he gave me a HUGE box of chocolates the ones in the heart box-well, my BFF (that was way before I met you!) stuck her finger or bit into EVERYONE one of them in the box. I didn’t get any of them that she hadn’t touched already.
Did I win? Was that the worst? ♥
It isn’t exactly a gift, but the best thing my husband has ever done for Valentine’s Day was on our first one together he cooked my homemade stir-fry. We had no money and I was on a college meal plan, so this was a special treat.
There really isn’t a worst gift, but I remember my senior year of high school one a the clubs put on a fundraiser where you could send people flowers in homeroom. I didn’t have a boyfriend and none of my friends sent me one! I was the only person who didn’t get a flower in my homeroom!
My best Valentine’s day gift was the first year I was married. My husband, all on his own, chose diamond earrings and a necklace that were princess cut to match my wedding ring. What a guy!
My best Valentine’s day gift had to be a rubber spatula. I know it may seem weird but my first year of marriage I wanted one so bad. We were still in college and money was tight. I was so touched that my husband remembered. It tops the list for me. I’ll always remember that spatula.
The worst Valentine’s Day present was the disappointment of not getting our washer fixed. We lived overseas and upon arriving our washer didn’t work, we ordered a part and after weeks and weeks of calling and asking about it, they assured us it would be in on Valentine’s Day. I was so pumped about this Valentine’s day present because I had been handwashing all our laundry and was dreaming of a working washer. My hubby went to pick up the part and apparently nobody ordered it. Yep it was a terrible day.
My best Valentine’s Gift ever was a beautiful anonymous flower arrangement sent to me when I was 15. I wonder to this day who sent it and will I ever get something that nice again
My now husband wrote me a poem for Valentines Day when we were dating, and it was the best present I’ve ever gotten…hands down. In my early 20′s I got stood up on Valentines once, and that was the worst feeling ever and certainly the worst gift!
Thanks for the great giveaway!
Blog post! ♥
Best: A home cooked meal with dessert that was out of my weight watchers cook book so I wasn’t tempted to go off plan.
Worst: Finding out the day after V-day that my husband had sent flowers to my office that never arrived
I’ll do worst first because it’s just too painful.
Worst-My boyfriend brought me a blue stuffed teddy bear that his mother had obviously bought for him to give to me (we were in our early 20s). He also made me pay for dinner.
Best-My boyfriend (different one) bought me tickets to a hockey game that my favorite hockey team was playing in. He then surprised me with a Claddagh Ring and a $200 Amazon gift certificate. Best gifts I have ever gotten.
my best valentines…. it was when my hubby and i were dating and i was out of town teaching, he sent me a box full of small valentines with different love notes on it… and lots of chocolates (the only way to show you care)
It is hard to come up with the best because my birthday in the day before and love ones like to think they can combine the two.
the best: could be when i was 16 and i got my first roses.
the worst: my husband just forgot because he had already done something for my birthday
My best Valentine present was a new grandson, born a few days prior to the 14th.
My best present is a wonderful loving husband for 43 years.
I blogged about this Giveaway here:
http://bibliophile23.wordpress.com/giveaways/
My best gift was when a really good friend gave me roses and belgian chocolates. I haven’t really had a bad gift…but no gift isn’t so good! Thanks!
My favorite was a day at the spa and dinner out at a French restaurant. It was a wonderful, relaxing day!
My worst…well, I haven’t had a worst so I’ll share my mom’s. She got a snow shovel one year for Valentines Day! Horrible present!
Best Valentine Gift…. getting pregnant with my first son – Feb 1978. Worst – getting nothing (I thought it was insulting).
Oh, the boyfriend is generally quite good with his gifts. I got a knitting book last year! One I really wanted!
Every year my Mom does a Valentine Heart hunt, the whole family searches for the hearts and then once all the hearts are found they are turned in for money. It’s a fun little game and a great little monetary gift.
As for the worst gift I’ve gotten on Valentine’s day… well I was married for several years and my ex always made sure to start a fight with me so he wouldn’t have to give a gift, so lack of Valentine’s Day recognition was the worst that happened.
Both my best and worst Valentines were cards I received (from different people).
The best was last year when my current partner gave me new water-efficient bathroom taps (I was renovating at the time) and a card that said, “I care for you so much that if we were in prison, I’d protect you in the shower.” It was just perfect because it suited my sense of humor and we weren’t at the I-love-you stage in our r/ship. (This year it better be something more substantial though!)
The worst was back in college when someone I’d been dating for a while gave me a card and on the front it said, “On Valentine’s Day I thought it’s about time I told you…” I opened it expecting it to say I love you or something equally sweet. Instead the inside said “…that we should only be friends.” I was broken up with by Valentine card!
best – spa getaway
worst – bad box of chocolates
I emailed some friends! great bag!!
My best gift was when a guy was sitting on my car after school with homemade chocolates and flowers. Very romantic.
The worst was….when my guy got me nothing. How lame is that?
My best Valentines Day gift was the first year my oldest was able to make me a card with a heart on it. It was very sweet.
Thanks For Entry
tonyamcrain [at] aol [dot] com
best was kids making me homemade pancakes- although unedible I still ate them becuase they were full of love
the worst thing- my husband bought some lingerie at a thrift store- yep gross
Nice bag! I love the versatility of it – the color and I have a mac – does that help
Best V gift: Doris Day DVD collection
Worse: My bag of favorite milk chocolates were melted and they were an odd white color
The worst Valentine’s Day gift I ever got was three plastic utensils. Seriously? Cheap-o 99 cent utensils say “I love you” to some people?
The best Valentine’s Day gift I ever got? That’s a tough one, my husband is a darn good Valentine gift giver. I’ll say this year it’s still January and he has already given me a bright pink patent leather coach bag, a fuschia Longchamp bag, and a gorgeous necklace – for Valentine’s Day. (Which happens in a few weeks) The necklace is my favorite of the three, but it’s a photo finish, let me tell ya’.
It’s a heart with a big heart shaped pink sapphire. I love being a girl. *sigh*
I tweety-tweeted, too.
My best gift was a pink Teddy Bear that I really wanted. The worst was a card that said “From your friend”…given to me by my BOYFRIEND! I wanted to cry forever.
LOVE IT!!! My best Valentine’s Day gift was a date (alone) with my husband. He took me to P.F. Chang’s, my favorite restaurant in the world. And then we went to the waterfall (artificial) in Houston and we danced in the moon light to him humming “I Love You” by Lenny Williams.
Worst Valentine’s Day gift, a box of chocolates and every one of them included nuts. I hate nuts. LOL! Caramel and chocolate for me please.
Thanks for the giveaway! Best one I’ve seen and my new X-Mas gift, a laptop, is beggin’ for a sleek sleeve and matching tote.

My best valentines gift was that my husband surprised me by ordering a dozen roses online to be delivered on v-day, the kids made me a nice card and then my husband cooked me a steak dinner.
The worse would be getting nothing at all.
My worst Valentine’s Day: My husband picked a huge fight that wound up with me in tears and him sleeping on the sofa.
My best Valentine’s Day: I came home from work and my husband had decorated our entire bedroom in hand-cut hearts and hand written notes, including one heart (that he put over the headboard of our bed) that was about 4ft x 4ft.
tweeted. http://twitter.com/smokey4/status/1151077931
Hmmm, I think the worst would be the Valentines day that I got NOTHING from my hubby cause he forgot!!!
The best was when he and I got to take a whole night away from the kids….fun and very theraputic!!
Thanks for the chance to win such a great gift!!
My worst valentine’s day included no gift at all. My best valentine’s day a long walk with my husband on the beach in North Carolina.
Hm…my best Valentines would be the chocolates that my children made for and delivered to me while I was judging a music competition. My worst..honestly, I’ve never had a bad one. My hubby is so great with Valentine’s Day and before him, the couple of guys I dated were wonderful too.
Lets see worst Valentines day would have to be the ones where you’re single. Though when I was in a relationship the worst was when my boyfriend didn’t even do ANYTHING for me yep I kicked his butt to the curb.
I tweeted this giveaway http://twitter.com/truthful/status/1151118042
My birthday falls two days before valentines day so they usually run together… My ex would always make me homemade cards with gifts and I always thought that was sooo sweet. My worst would probably be just a generic card with no thought…
My best Valentine’s gift was when my husband bought me chocolates AND flowers. Bad Valentine’s gifts are when I get . . . NOTHING! That has happened the majority our relationship and he still doesn’t get it.
My worst gift was a secret admirer note and rose from the weird guy at my office. It made for a very uncomfortable couple of weeks. The best was when my fiancee (now husband) cooked a fancy dinner for me. He hates to cook and I am not sure that he has cooked anything more than mac and cheese or hot dogs since!
My best Valentine’s gift was 11 years ago when my husband proposed to me with a beautiful engagement ring. Honestly, I can’t even think of a bad valentines gift that I have ever received.
NICE!!
So my worst Vday gift was a dinner out. My hubby and I were newly married, neither of us having really celebrated Vday before, so we had NO idea about the long waits. We didn’t make reservations, so we drove around for 2 hours trying to find a place that had a less than 2 hour wait. Could have just waited at the first place for the 2 hours! LOL Ended up in a huge argument which was ridiculous since it was no one’s fault (yes, we have since learned to laugh at things like this!). WORST Vday gift!
Best Vday gift…a card from my unborn baby boy to me. Daddy picked it out and signed it from baby to be. The thought still melts my heart.
The best Valentine’s Day gift was from my sister. One year she and my BIL gave us a gift certificate to a restaurant and they babysat for us so my husband and I could go out and have dinner.
My worst gift was when my husband forgot to get me a gift and pulled over to buy me flowers while I was sitting in the car already annoyed about his forgetting to get me even a card. ;P
Thanks for the fun giveaway!
I linked back to your giveaway here . . .

Best – 6 years ago I got remarried to my hubby on Valentine’s Day after actually being divorced for several months. (you can read about it on my blog if you want) We celebrate our anniversary on our wedding day, and the big 10 will be in November! So, yeah, that was the best.
Worst – finding out my very first real boyfriend was cheating on me. Man, guys can be cruel sometimes.
Best: My first serious relationship with someone and he went all out for Valentine’s Day. It was my first time getting flowers(!) and he cooked a wonderful meal that we ate by candlelight. It was a wonderful night.
Worst: Fast forward fifteen years, same guy. I got a box of candy that he had already picked through, he had a few beers and fell asleep in front of the TV. That was our last Valentine’s Day together.
Best Valentine’s Gift: Hubby gave me a string pearl necklace, and took me out to eat, gave me a special card and wildflowers (I love wildflowers over roses), we had been married alittle over 3 years on that Valentines.
Worst Valentine’s Gift: Nothing last year. Not a card, flower, candy, gift, dinner. Nothing. He did not remember at all. So about 10pm, I gave him his card and gift from me and he said, “What, it’s that time of year again. Well, Happy Valentines.” He’s not a great romantic, so I figure he’s entitled to forget one year, but he better not this year.
Worst: a Ziggy card and a single carnation. Really, why bother?!
Best: a painting my husband made for me.
My husband thought it was great to buy me lingerie for Valentines Day. He was so uncomfortable in the store though, that he bought the first thing he could and got out of there. When I opened his gift, it was eight sizes bigger than what I was.
My best gift was a poem he wrote me last year.
Wow, that tote and sleeve are awesome!
Ok, my best Valentine’s gift was a certificate from my husband for a new pair of shoes – he’d go with me to shop for them and pay for them. What an awesome gift. I love shoes.
My worst Valentine’s day gift? I got several, from I think all my high school boyfriends — the general idea was a heart shaped necklace, in yellow gold. Basically just doesn’t suit me at all, and if they knew me, they’d know I don’t wear yellow gold. You get the idea. But, hey, it could be much worse. Like a husband just *forgetting*. So I feel like a jerk complaining!
My husband proposed to me in an ad in the newspaper.
That was my best Valentines present.
worst: alone with a bottle of wine
best: every valentines with my current partner =)

My best gift is probably a home made valentine that my six year old made me last year.
Worst: A book about shells from my MIL, weird.
Worst- the Valentine’s that my current hubby and I were separate (before we were married).
Best- every one since getting married.
The best was an engagement ring surprise & the worst hasn’t happened yet!
Thanks for the contest
I think my best Valentine’s was last year. We had a huge snow storm and my husband was a district manager at the time. He had to get into work even though the storm was bad, his stores were located inside of truck stops. Well because the weather was so bad trucks were even snowed in, so since the trucker couldn’t make a delivery he was selling off his load. My husband brought me home BUCKETS (and i’m serious) of Roses, all different colors, there were DOZENS of them, my house smelled wonderful I was so sad when the roses died, I don’t think he could ever top that one..
My best valentine gift was a miniature potted rose bush from my husband, and I don’t have a worst gift!
Tweet Tweet: http://twitter.com/wrestlingaddict/status/1151250947
My best was when my husband and I stayed at Marriott and were in the bar area. My husband excused himself, and when he came back he had a pink heart shaped candle in a pewter holder, lit!
My worst was when we had an ice storm and my husband had to work 48 hrs straight – through Valentine Day.
Best V-Day present: Adorable stuffed animal sheep named Beaux. Worst V-Day present: those chocolates with the pink and orange centers. GAG!
Thanks for the chance to win.
I would say the best was a basket with a chic flick movie, chocolates etc… that my husband gave me. I can’t think of a worst-
though I did get a file cabinet as a gift once.
worst ever – my (now EX) husband didn’t get me anything but bought himself a new gun.

Ok, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a rotten Valentine’s Day gift. The best ones I’ve gotten, though, where simple cards and candy from the children I taught. It was the thought that really counted!
best: surprise trip to san francisco
worst: pair of cheap nylon red panties rolled in the shape of a rose and stuck into a greenery stem
The best Valentines Day gift I received was a ring with the birthstone of a baby I lost due to a miscarriage. The worst would be a board game. Ironically – I received both gifts on the same Valentines Day.
Best: When I was dating my hubby, he filled my room with red and white balloons. He also had a dress made for me (as a surprise) for a military ball. Both things at the same time- I was blown away.
Worst: I am having trouble thinking of this… the worst gift, that is. I think the worst Valentine’s Day was when my husband was in Iraq, though.
Thanks for the chance to win!
My best Valentines gift of course is jewelry. But my worst was probably with the year he gave me a pillow or the year he bought me a hanging kitchen knife set.
Great question!
My “worst” Valentine’s Day was my first as a married woman. We had been married almost a year. I told my husband very plainly that the ONLY thing I really wanted was a heart-shaped box of candy. I told him several times, just to make sure her got the message.
On Valentine’s Day, he gave me flowers and took me to dinner. That was all very nice. However, no candy. The one romantic gesture I requested he completely ignored. His excuse: “I didn’t think you meant it.” I laugh now, but 19 years ago it wasn’t so funny.
My best Valentine’s Day was 18 years ago. On that very special day, our one and only child was born—four days before our 2nd wedding anniversary. She was definitely the finest gift I could ever wish for, and has made every Valentine’s Day since extra-special.
For the record, that bag is amazing.
My best Valentine’s day gift was a sweet card my husband made me; he drew a heart on a piece of paper, wrote “I love you with all my (heart), love and (poured a large pile of Hershey’s kisses below). I found it after a long day at work. It was so sweet!
I’d love to have the laptop bag, as I currently use a black laptop bag for a diaper bag…would be nice to have an alternative.
My best Valentine’s Gift Ever was when my husband gave me a puppy. He is now almost 5 and is my best friend.
Tweet http://twitter.com/DreeG/status/1151362583
the worst valentines day gift i ever got was…a pair of black pants. yes! i was so hurt…i was hoping for maybe a nice dinner or even flowers, chocs, a quiet night in. well, he made up for it the next year when he treated me to a trip in Venice and that was the best valentines gift ever!
Oh my gosh, i LOVE this…
ok… best Valentine gift ever= we had just adopted our daughter (who has special needs) and I was exhausted. He (husband) arranged for a friend and daughter to take me and our daughter to lunch and a movie. When I got home, he had painted the living room and bought the pottery barn slipcovers I wanted. It was perfect.
Worst= an ex boyfriend mailed me a pair of his boxers and a singing gorilla. ick.
At the risk of sounding lame, my husband doesn’t “do” valentines day (being that it is a hallmark holiday and everything…blah, blah, blah). So I don’t have a best/worst valentine’s day story. I do look forward to v-day so that my kids and I can be creative and make cards together.
The worst first, my hubby on our first Valentines Day married decided to buy me a teddy bear – not bad because I collected them. However, I collected nice ones. Well he headed to walmart for something and found a whole big thing of cheap teddy bears there for like $10 each and bought me one of those ugly things – ack! I had even told him a week before that those were NOT the type I collected. It was the thought that counts though I guess.
Now my best was actually the year prior because we delayed Valentine’s Day for 1 day and got married on 2/15! That was a great gift!
My best Valentine’s Day gift was an hour massage when I was 8 months pregnant (due in April)….that was the best massage I have ever had. The worst was a gaudy gold bracelet from a guy in high school that I was about to break up with. Poor guy. I still feel bad.
my worst gift was a shirt that smelled like cat spray and my best was a day all about me
Love this! Super cute and super practical. I NEED one!
Worst valentine’s gift was those candy hearts, especially when I put so much time and effort into a gift for him. Awesome.
My best valentine’s gift was a gorgeous necklace. And about the worst I really don’t remember.
Best Gift: Third grade: my “boyfriend” gave me a pretty crystal
Worst Gift: I can’t really think of a bad gift that I’ve gotten
I think it’s nice just to get anything at all
Maybe the times when i wasn’t dating anyone and got nothing? That’s the worst
Wow, that is a super cute bag! My best valentine’s gift was when I thought my boyfriend couldn’t meet me for valentine’s day, and he serenaded me outside my apartment window. The worst was probably a joke gift of edible underwear.
Worst gift: My childhood cat, CatRina passed away the day before (after a fight with neighborhood dogs) and I was sooo upset. My, now, ex-boyfriend told me to buck up and gave me a stuffed puppy. That’s it! No card, no sympathy just a puppy.
Best gift: I know it will be this year because my husband’s ship comes home 2 days before. All I want is him (we are newlyweds!)
My best valentine’s gift was a puppy. A dalmation.
The worst after being married 20 years , spending 21 valentine’s days together, my husband forgot it was valentine’s and I got nothing. lol
I absolutely love this bag and I really need it! It would be awesome to have my boutique name on it.
My husband recently gave me a rose… just because and to me that’s better than any Valentine’s gift but I can honestly say that I don’t recall ever receiving a bad valentine’s gift.
Thanks so much for the giveaway!
Blessings!

Great contest, thanks for hosting! My best V-Day gift: a gorgeous aquamarine bracelet that I’d been wanting for ages – my husband suprised me with it about 5 years ago. I was so shocked! Worst V-Day gift: Old boyfriend got me nothing one V-Day, no card, not even an email! Some romantic!
Last year my boyfriend cooked the most amazing dinner for me for Valentine’s Day. On top of that he brought flowers and spent time writing the most thoughtful card ever. Truly those things were the best gifts I have ever gotten for Valentine’s Day
Well, we don’t really do V-day gifts. However, my birthday is on the 12th (two days before v-day) and one year my sweet husband had roses delivered to me on the 13th with a note that simply read, “Happy Day Between!” LOL! It was such a fun and wonderful surprise and a really creative and sweet idea!
jinglesells at gmail dot com
Best: Nothing too elaborate, I’ve been given flowers and candy and a teddy bear. The normal stuff.
Worst: I was broken up with on Valentine’s day by my boyfriend- after him being sick two days earlier and me driving him soup to make him feel better! Jerk.
I also tweeted about your giveaway here: http://twitter.com/jadenbru/status/1152064648
Me and my husband don’t exchange Valentine’s Day gifts, but the best gift I’ve gotten from him was weekend trip to Fredricksburg, TX, where we stayed a few nights in a luxury B&B. He had wrapped the reservation nicely and I totally didn’t expect it and we left the next day.
I still haven’t gotten “the worst” gift from my husband, we normally don’t exchange surprise gifts that much, we get each others things we know the other one really wants.
I would love to win this bag, it looks awesome, and just what I need. Thank you for a great giveaway!
Best gift was a homemade dinner from my husband. Worst gift was when he forgot and got nothing.
My worse Valentines Day was in 2004. I spent it in bed with gestational diabetes, the flu, and pregnant. The best almost Valentines Day present came 3 days later…my son was born!
When my husband and I were dating…he gave me lingerie that was 5 sizes too big. We had never even kissed. He’s made up for it since then…but boy was I ticked and bewildered.
Hmm…Because we’ve been married for 20 years, and just LAST year started exchanging gifts, I think that would have to be the best! I haven’t even had a worst yet!
He got me a little Willow Tree trinket box with the title “Embrace”. Brought on some SERIOUS tears!
Thanks for a fabulous giveaway! I look forward to reading more of your blog.
Blessings!
Kim
The best gift I received was a nice dinner. The worst gift – nothing!
The best gift I ever recieved was a scavenger hunt around our house with little gifts hidden in various places. The worst…I’m not sure…probably nothing or some flowers that I didn’t like.
Gorgeous laptop bag!!
Best: The Hubby and I had just started dating and he was traveling for work, he wasn’t supposed to be back until the next day but he finished his job early and drove the 8 hours home to surprise me on my doorstep!
Worst: All of the other ones where ex’s didn’t do anything and I had to watch the other women in the office getting flowers all day.
My best Valentine’s Day ever was probably four years ago when I was pregnant with my first son. His due date was February 9 and we were so anxious! We decided we needed a night out so we went to our friend’s house to play cards. I stood and walked around the whole evening to try to start my labor…no luck. He was born on the 17th.
My worst? Probably every Valentine’s Day when I was single. I didn’t get married until I was 37 years old. And I had a friend who used to tease me about being old and not married. She’s no longer my friend.
I once got some chocolates that were a few years old. UGH
Tweeted your contest!
Let’s see…My best Valentine’s Gift is always roses from my children and husband. One year my two year old told me, “mommy, daddy got you flowers” in her little girl tone. Meanwhile my husband and son were hiding in the kitchen with gifts in hand. Thanks sweetie! jejee My worst would have to be way before I was married and my beau at the time broke up with me right before so he wouldnt have to buy me anything. Now I see why we didnt last too long! Thanks! Tania
My husband and I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day, so I haven’t gotten a gift (good or bad) in years! My best V-day gift was probably back in high school when my boyfriend surprised me by having a HUGE balloon bouquet delivered to the school for me. The worst was a box of chocolate covered cherries because I hate cherries and I had told the guy I was dating at the time I hated them many times.
Worst: The first year my husband and I were married, his company sent him on a trip to NORTH DAKOTA for the week of my birthday (Feb. 12th) and Valentines Day! Needless to say, neither of us were pleased, but I think I got the better end of the deal ’cause I wasn’t in North Dakota in February.
Best: Again, my birthday is two days before V-day so my husband (and all boyfriends before him) has a lot of work to do every year around that time! However, the first year he was in grad school things were VERY tight for us financially so I didn’t expect much at all. He surprised me by buying me a new digital camera for my birthday. Figuring that after that purchase we really had no money left, I really didn’t expect anything for Valentine’s Day. But, he surprised me again with flowers at work and a ring with a HUGE amethyst (my birthstone) for Valentines day. I know he had to dip into our savings a little bit but I felt so loved that he would do that for me. He’s a great great great great husband and I love him much!
I haven’t had a good valentines day in a LONG time!!! the best was probably all the way back in high school when my boyfriend worked super hard to make my favorite meal and did a candle lit table and all
the little heart shaped boxes of candy my little daughter would buy were always my favorite
My best valentine’s day gift would definitely be the beautiful hot pink roses and stuffed cow my husband gave me on our first valentine’s day.
The worst? I can’t say I have a bad one, but two years ago it snowed so bad we almost couldn’t make it out of our house.
MrsCarissaMcB at gmail dot com
Best gift: I would say my best gift was a beautiful handmade card from my little girl.
Worst gift: Well, I think any gift is a good gift on Valentine’s day, so probably the years I’ve gotten nothing.
I don’t think I’ve had worst Valentine’s Day gifts! but the best would be the diamond necklace my husband gave me 2 years ago-it’s beautiful
Best – not exactly a gift, but my husband built a blanket tent in our living room and built a fire in the fireplace and we “camped” in the living room for Valentine’s Day. We even had S’mores!
Worst – one past boyfriend bought me a video game that he had been wanting for awhile. I never play video games and don’t even own a system.
We don’t really do much for valentines day. But the best was a rose bud with a wonderful love letter from my husband.
The worst haven’t really had a bad one. Just sometimes it just goes by with little acknowledgment.
That is a gorgeous bag!
I think my best Valentine’s day gifts have been the ones my mother has sent, honestly. It’s always nice to find a nice package of chocolate in the mail for Valentine’s day.
The worst one was- nothing. That’s right, one year my boyfriend forgot completely.
This would be fabulous to win. thank you! The worst gift was nothing..and the best gift was my husband brought home some flowers and took the kids to my moms and we just relaxed at home with a good movie.
tatertot374@sbcglobal.net
Best Valentine gift: a trip to Hawaii.
Worst one: he forgot!! so I got nothing. =(
My husband one time gave me a card that said I love you and marked out where it said Happy birthday from the company and wrote it Happy Valentines day. It cracked me up so much that I still have it today!
Ok. So. We are foster parents and last Valentine’s day we got a placement of three kids. Best gift ever. It completely negated any romantic interlude that we might have add, but it led to a wonderful relationship with three beautiful kids. Worst gift ever? Erm….some dead flowers my hubby got the night of. it’s the thought that counts…..right?

Best Valentine’s Day gift: my first kiss from my boyfriend who would become my husband on our first Valentine’s Day. Pretty memorable.
Worst Valentine’s gift: flowers from a soon to be ex husband
Best Valentine’s gift: sentimental card and candy plus a dinner out with current husband
Oh, such a great giveaway..that thing is GORGEOUS!
Best gift – a simple bag of candy from my dad as a kid…he just didn’t do that kind of stuff.
Worst gift – getting nothing from a husband who completely forgot. I mean, a card is at least something.
My best and worst Valentine’s gift is actually the same thing: Godiva chocolates! I love them and, as usual, my hubby got me some for Valentine’s Day. However, that year I was on a serious diet after my second baby and couldn’t/wouldn’t eat them. They didn’t go to waste though…my oldest daughter LOVED them!
My best gift: really nice dinner out and lots of wine
Worst gift: I got stood up when I was like 17! He was a jerk!
My best gift was my husband had filled the bath with water and rose pedals and placed candles all around the bathroom, a box of chocolates and sparkling grape juice (we don’t drink). I had had a bad day at work and that is what I found when I came home. He had the kids over to his moms for the night and while I was soaking he fixed us the most wonderful meal. It was so nice getting pampered so much. I will never forget that valentine’s and it was 9 years ago. The worst is the one where he thought he would get me new underwear ( I mean UNDERWEAR) usually you think of teddies full of lace or very sheer. Well I got cotton granny panties! I mean what did he think that I am over the hill? I mean we all have our “that time granny panties” but to get them from your hubby on the most romantic day of the year? Let’s just say I wore flannel and curlers to bed lol.
I cannot think of a bad gift that I’ve received – I guess that’s a good thing!
The best would have to be a massage – I love receiving those as gifts
My hubby and I don’t usually do too much on valentines day. We usually go to a nice dinner or I cook a nice dinner for the two of us. I think the best and worst day were the same day. We decided to drive the hour and half to our favorite restaurant. It didn’t take reservations, so when we got there it was a three hour wait to eat. We figure, by the time we drive home and find another place the three hours would be up. So, we hung out there for three hours waiting to eat dinner. By the time our name was called the place was finally emptying out, and our table ended up being almost by itself in a little room. It was great food and great conversation, which makes it one of the best valentines.
My worst Valentine’s Day is by far after my husband and I got married 2 weeks prior. We had 2 weeks between basic training and his station date. So we got married a week before he left. Then he left for Germany the day of his 19th birthday. The week after was Valentine’s Day and it was just awful that I had to stay behind in the states while my husband was across the country for our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple. The upside: Feb 1st is our 5 year anniversary and we’re still going strong!
My worst was going out to dinner with my m.i.l. Not that I don’t like her, but I’d much rather have been with my hubby! My favorite was finding out the gender of my baby girl a couple years ago! Yep, it was on V-day!
Oh! The best would be when he got out of the Army 3 years later and we came back to the states right around Valentine’s Day! A family completed
Best: A 3 heart necklace from my hubby on our first married valentine’s day.
Worst: He forgot all about V-day and didn’t get me anything. lol

My WORST Valentine gift ever had to be the year I was pregnant with our first baby. Splenda Daddy was so remote and cold. We went to dinner in complete silence. Can’t even tell you where we went. After we got home, he went out to the couch and watched TV. Not one word to me the whole rest of the night. Have no idea what was bugging him, he said nothing. But that year, he was a mean old pig!
The BEST Valentine gift ever was the year that he surprised me with a weekend getaway. Away from the house, the kids, the friends, family, ward and neighbors. Complete and total serenity. Took me to a nice dinner, and then let me do whatever I wanted the rest of the evening. That year he was the best lamb ever!
Best, my senior year beau had flowers delivered to my desk! I am 48 now, and people still bring it up. No worst. I married him, and 30 years later, he is still the one!
Linked on my blog!!
My best valentine – my hubby had lost his job and we were barely getting by. He cut a whole bunch of little hearts out of paper and wrote tiny love notes and stuffed my sock drawer with them. I still find one occasionally and it has been years! No bad valentines memories.
My worst Valentines Day would be when I received a stuffed animal in a basket bought from a street corner stand. The stuffed animal was glued to the basket so much that it ended up with holes in spots by the time I got it loose fromt he basket and the basket was broken in spots, but worst of all we discovered some sort of bugs all over the stuffed animal I still don’t know what they were.
Best Valentines day was when I was proposed to, the ring was in a bouquet of roses, and I also got a little white teddy bear that had earings on, they were very nice and were for me of course.

Don’t tell, but we are getting a mini-dell next month! I can’t wait!
My favorite Valentine’s gift was from Hunter. He came into my office one afternoon, Hubby stayed outside. He brought me a flower and picture frame he had made me at his mom’s house. It splled out I love you in yarn. He put our first “picture” in it, and wrote an adorable card. It still sits on my shelf at work. I will never take that one down.
One year in high school my boyfriend thought I would love him to put my name somewhere on his body…he shaved his head. I kid you not! All around his head was my name in big ole letters. Talk about strange and embarrassing.
Thanks!!
I tweeted!!
Thanks
Best? Last year, dh brought me tulips and Lydia roses. It was sweeter than if he’d filled the room with flowers for me.
Worst? Well, this is really about me. I am one of those gift-giving kinda people. And I guess I expect that from my hubby. I kept wheedling him about getting me something for our first Vday as a married couple. We lived in a trailer next to a chicken farm, worked at the outlet mall full time and went to college full time. Gifts were not in the budget. He finally bought me a rose (or two…now I don’t even remember) and at first I felt vindicated that he had done what I asked. But every time I looked at it, it reminded me of a whiny little girl…ME.
(WOW. How’s that for transparent today?! Sheesh.)

Worst was the Holly Hobby outfit that my then boyfriend thought I would like. The best was my husband arranging a really nice dinner in my hospital room after my heart attack.
My worst Valentine’s Day gift was a box of really cheap chocolate from the dollar store that was almost expired anyway. It turned me off to chocolate for a while, I guess I’m spoiled by other brands of chocolate. My best Valentine’s Day gift was coming home to a clean house and a candle light dinner served by my boyfriend. He even had rose petals in the bathtub with a dozen roses and my favorite chocolates. Thanks, Godesseablu@msn.com
Best: Engagement ring! Sounds so cliche, but my husband is really into suprises so I wasn’t expecting it at all on Valentine’s Day. Also when I was in high school my dad gave my mom and I each two baskets filled with Mary Kay makeup in them. So sweet!
Worst: Also in high school my friends and I who weren’t dating decided to send ourselves flowers anonymously on Valentine’s Day and have them delivered to the school. Our guy friends were convinced they were from a creepy single male teacher we had. Attention seeking? Little bit!
Best: Flowers and candlelight dinner from my husband
Worst: 2 days before Valentines Day, my ex-boyfriend broke up with me. Before he broke up with me he said he had sent me a gift for V-Day…I got a 8×10 picture of him in the mail 2 days later. Needless to say, it ended up in the garbage.
Worst gift: None at all. This is always what my husband gets me as he isn’t really into celebrating things.
Best gift: A brooch my daughter made in her pre-school class when she was 21/2. It’s plastic jewels glued onto a heart, and I love it. I wear it all the time.
I once got a vacuum for valentines. Worst gift ever.
My best gift was a beautiful night out. I got all dressed up and we had a lovely dinner, and then after dinner went to a gorgeous hotel with a room that had a glass sliding door that opened up to a beach. My worst gift was from an ex-boyfriend that dumped me and asked my friend out (she said no) on Valentines day! Thanks for the great giveaway!

P.S. I’ve got a giveaway on my blog as well, feel free to check it out!
It’s not polite to talk about my worst gift. I might offend someone, but a close second was nothing. The guy I was dating called and said “I hope you are not expecting nothing for V’day. I am not wasting my money on you” Needless to say, I didn’t waste anymore time on him!
The best was probably when he also remembered my baby sister and got her a gift as well.
The worst? I guess it would be old chocolate.
But at least I didn’t get sick!
Pick me, please! I’d love to win that tote!
As my Husband and I live in different states I usually receive flowers. He has never forgotten and he knows me, so he never will send red roses, Daisies are always included. I start sending Valentine cards early, so that by the day the holiday rolls around he has collected 8-10 cards all telling him how much I Love Him. As far as the worst Valentine’s Day, I cannot seem to recall a bad one.
I love talking about my BEST Vday ever!
It was the first Vday of the new millenium. (My 22nd bday was the next day!) I bought my first car that afternoon. That evening, my boyfriend and I went out for Vday (naturally). When we got back in the car, he handed me my Vday gift. When I unwrapped it, he handed me the card that read “Will you be my forever Valentine?” The gift was my diamond engagement ring! (He picked it out all by himself and did a GREAT job!)
However… my WORST Valentine’s Day was when I was in High school! I was a Freshman and one of the Seniors thought it would be funny to play “fool the Freshman”. So he asked me out for that night. Then at the end of the day when all his friends were standing with him, he decided to announce that it was all a joke. I had never been more humiliated in my entire life!
Best was a singing buildabear. Worst was half dead roses.
Just wanted to let you know that I just posted about you in my blog. (I forgot to include that in my first post….sorry!)
Alright my best gift was a blue cotton nightgown! So comfy and sweet oh and all the chocolate I’ve ever gotten. My least favorite? I don’t have one!
I’ll talk about the best Valentine’s gift that I GAVE. My SO had been looking at and talking about a particular rug at Target for about 5 months but it was kind of expensive so we never got it. I later got a couple Amazon.com gift certificates and secretly bought the large rug along with the runner and smaller rug from the Target/Amazon store and gave it for Valentine’s Day. Talk about being surprised.
I Twittered (is that actually a word?) your contest here: http://twitter.com/courtenay27/status/1153333962
Thanks!
best vday gift: a tiny plush bumble bee.
worst: getting nothing at all.
I emailed about it!
The best ever was when my now husband (common law that is haha) drove all the way from Dallas, TX to Gatlinburg, TN to see me with a Yellow rose from Texas. So sweet and thoughtful.
I tweeted this from stitchblade!
Best: Engagement ring from my now husband.
Worst: A vase of near-dead flowers and melted chocolate!
My best V-day was last year:
2008
We had just found out I was pregnant for the third time (2 miscarriages) We were really nervous and scared. My husband planned the most romantic evening out at our favorite restaurant, brought me flowers at work and generally romanced me the entire day. I felt so special pregnant with his child and being totally spoiled. We had a little boy in August.
The worst V-Day-
My valentine box got ruined in the rain on my way to school 3rd grade. I did not have a mailbox for my cards.
Let’s see, my favorite valentine’s gift that I have given was a thing I dubbed “Bouquet of Us” that I gave to my boyfriend. It was a vase with “flowers” that were made of green wire and pictures on top. There were a half dozen pictures in the vase.
My worst valentine was a Tom the builder valentines lunch box pail with crappy candy inside.
Worst: when my boyfriend of 3 years bought me a packet of carnation seeds instead of real flowers, and broke up with me later that day!
Best: when my best friend Becca was born!!! And every Valentine’s since, as she is a v-day baby
My worst is when I left my husband and the same day I came back home.(Long time ago) LOL Thanks.

http://lovingheartdesigns.blogspot.com/
My best valentine’s was when I was in high school. My boyfriend at the time was a real romantic. When I got up there was a sign in the front yard with Happy Valentines Day love Tim. I thought it was really sweet. Then he came and picked me up for school. He had stopped and gotten me breakfast at McDonalds. After school was over he took me home and was suppose to pick me up at 7:00 for the basketball game. When he picked me up he gave me a rose and some candy. Well I thought he was done. I was thrilled with what I had already gotten. When he took me home he gave me a ring. It was by far the best valentines day! My worse was the year I was very sick it was the pits.
Best was Indoor Skydiving experience!
Worst…not get anything at all!
Thanks for the giveaway
I remember my first Valentine’s Day with Brian and he sent me roses to work along with a box of chocolates and a little teddy bear. Very sweet and so unexpected. My worst was celebrating alone when I first moved to Seattle back in 1990….I had no boyfriend and it seemed as if all my friends were in happy relationships. It was a day I tried to avoid for awhile.
Thanks for sharing such a nice gift. Stacy
Well, since the kiddo’s came along, my husband and I haven’t really done anything for Valentine’s Day, but one year he bought me a beautiful silver cross necklace and earring set. They are my favorite pieces to wear.
My worst Valentine’s gift, well, I really can’t stand eating dark chocolate, and my husband thought he was doing a good thing by giving me a huge box full of it! I think he did it on purpose so that he could eat it! LOL!!!
My best valentine’s day gift was a long weekend get-away to boston. we had such a relaxing and fun time! even though it was sooooo cold
my worst was a noise maker to help me sleep! it kept me awake. awful gift!
Boy, holiday gift giving at our house is rough. Hubs usually gets me nothing. I think he’s intimidated by the whole gift giving thing and is completely overwhelmed so just gives up. Although one time he totally pulled through and gave me a pair of diamond stud earrings. And he usually always takes the kids shopping for me!
Worst-I have had ONE Valentine’s Day where I got nothing. The year before he got me roses that were on the truck too long and died the next day. I tried to make him feel better by saying that it was a Hallmark Holiday. BIG MISTAKE!!!! He has since remedied this!
Best- He dressed up in his grandfather’s tux, and greeted me at the door with a rose. Candles were lit and he served me shrimp cocktail. This was pretty amazing since he was still in college and only 20 years old at the time…
GREAT CONTEST!!!!!!
The worst Valentine’s Day present I ever got…. was tickets to wrestling from my fiance at the time. Needless to say we didn’t get married.

Oh wow, what a fantastic bag (and would be so used and loved) K, the worst? Hubbys and my first valentines day, we had not been married for long and had been busy buying things for the house. Hubby had bought an iron that day, he presented this to me with a half dead rose from the local 7-11 he picked up on the way home after realizing he had forgotten….he has since made up for it!
best: when i turned 16 and got my license my mom bought me a car on valentines day. It was a beater, truly a big beater (1970 VW bug) but it was mine!
Worst: Boyfriend of two years broke up with me the week before.
Best: Husband planned special romantic weekend getaway for just us- all three kids with the grands. Roses, chocolates, fancy meals…. the works. All I really needed was the peace and quiet!
Thanks for the opportunity!

Best: My ex-husband had his positives. He was a huge romantic. I came home to a clean house, and a trail of rose petals leading to our Master Bath. The tub had just been filled and had rose petals floating in it. Kenny G was softly playing, and candles with matches nearby to light. A note on the bed from the husband saying to enjoy a nice bath and he would be home in 45 minutes to pick me up. He had already packed our bags for a Valentine’s weekend. He took me out to a lovely country resteraunt club, and surprised me with a lesson in country line dancing (something I always wanted to learn). We danced until our feet hurt, lol. We retired to a local hotel. The next morning, he surprised me with my final gift – a CPR class. My father has heart problems and I was always worried what would happen if he had a heart attack and I would not know what to do. It was a beautiful Valentines Day. He allowed me to learn a fun activity, but also how to save someone’s life. It was a beautiful weekend and I will never forget it.
Worst: The first Valentines Day alone after my divorce. It was very hard because it is two days after our anniversary.
I’ve since remarried, but have to be honest and give credit where credit is due insofar as the “Best” Valentines Day gift ever received, even though it was from my ex-husband.
My best Valentine’s gift was about 7 years ago when my now husband I were still just dating. He took me on a scavenger hunt through out the day to find clues about what the big surprise was. He’s a techy/graphic guy so each clue was a flash video. It was the best present ever. At the end of the day he ended up taking me out to a really nice restaurant and to the symphony. It was great! Each year I re-watch the clues he gave me and have fun remembering that night.
Thanks for the giveaway! That bag is incredible and I LOVE the color. Thanks!
My best Valentine’s Day present was my son who will be 15 this year. I really tried to think of a worst present, but I couldn’t come up with one.
Thanks for the opportunity,
Beth
Worst Valentine’s Gift: Not getting one for so many years (divorced then single mom; didn’t date; raised daughter by myself) Val Day was always a really hard day for me but then to the
Best Valentine’s Gift: my engagement ring, from the most wonderful man in the world, in a secluded cafe we loved to go to where we live – flowers, wine, dinner, dessert and a ring! woohoo It’s been the best 10 years of my life come July 17th~
Best-Clinique Happy with the bonus goodies!!!!!!
Worst-Cheap chocolate
My best Valentine’s day gift was last year – my husband got me an 80 gb iPod!! The worst gift was in high school – I got a key chain
Thank you for this opportunity – I recently purchased my first laptop and could really use this bag!
First, I love the bag. I am in insurance, and I am dragging around a man bag my hubby gave me. It is yucky and too big and I need a gal bag.
Best? Years ago, when the kids were still little, he lined up a sitter and told me to be ready at 6pm wearing jeans. We took his Jeep and picked up a pizza. (I am thinking, pizza? for V’s Day??) Then he drove out to the lake to a little park and parked. He pulled out his laptop, plugged it into the ciggy lighter and popped in a chick flick, which he will NEVER watch. We ate pizza, drank Cokes and watched a romantic movie, huddled under a blanket in a freezing cold Jeep bec he had taken off the top so we could see the bleeping stars. ha After about an hour along came a cop to see what in the blazes we were doing in the park. I guess he thot we were teenagers trying to make a baby or something. He was very amused.
Worst? I don’t think we have had a worst (yet) in 25 years. My man is actually very good about V’s Day. He sucks at doing Mother’s Day for some reason, though. He pisses me off almost every year in May.
Thanks for participating in the Bloggy Giveaway!
Best Valentine’s Day was the one my hubby and I spent in Hawaii. You know, before kids when we could still do extravagant things like that.
There never was a really bad one, but I remember one year my hubby forgot to get me something. We stopped at a floral shop on the way to dinner, and I sat in the car in the parking lot while he went in to get me some flowers. He’s usually better prepared than that.
my best valentine’s day gift was a pair of jeans and a pair of earrings from my husband and son a few years ago. the worst valentine’s gift was from an ex who sent me a huge monkey balloon to work and it said “you drive me bananas”…. that took a long time to forget…
The best would have been the first one with my son. My husband got me a card and some flowers and had them from my son.
The worst would have been our first year together, DH didn’t get me anything.
Best was when my boyfriend cooked my favorite meal just for me.
My very favorite Valentines present was realizing I was pregnant (for the first time.) That was 25 years ago. This Valentine’s day I get to hug my granddaughter (she lives 700 miles away) that will come close to the best ever.
I followed you on twitter (@ggerth)
Okay, I’m LOL-ing at “Every party has a pooper, and you just found her blog!” Good for you, girl.
My worst V-day gift? Well, I’ve never gotten a BAD one, but I’ve frequently gotten nothing. My husband is awesome, but the man HATES what he calls “Hallmark holidays”. He says he should be a good husband all the time, not just on 2/14. Which is true, of course, but it’s painfully logic, and one of these years maybe he’ll surprise me!
(My best one? Well, Reed married Lee Ann on Valentine’s Day, so I got an awesome new SIL that year!)
The worst would be a gift certificate to a restaurant that my husband ended up using with one of his buddies. The best would have been a photo session for me and my sisters. Thanks!
I really can’t remember any particular valentine’s day gifts! I think my favorite things were the little classroom treats we used to get way back in elementary school!
My best Valentine’s gift were the roses and Dairy Queen cake I got from my husband. The worst Valentine’s Day is when my husband had to change shifts the week of valentine’s day and we didn’t get to spend it together!
Worst: Having my boyfriend break up with me the day before V-day, only to see him taking his new girlfriend to dinner ON V-day when my friends had taken me out to cheer me up. Not cool.
Best: Gosh, each year just gets better with my hubby! He always does something to surprise me. Last year was roses, a great dinner, and a quite evening in!
My best Valentine’s gift was when my husband and I were first married and he made dinner for me and gave me a full body massage by candlelight(I know tmi! lol) The worst has probably been the last 4 years or so where he has gotten me nothing at all!
Oh well, we’re pretty busy with 4 small kiddos!!!
Best was my engagement ring.never had a worst (knock on wood)
I too have only had one bf during V-day and since we didn’t last I don’t think he counts.
But I do remember a long time ago when I was away at school, my little brother sent me one of those 25-in-a-box Valentine cards…what a great mail day that was!
Best: the homemade card my husband drew for me with lots of markers and sentiment and Scripture
Worst: nothing cause it was his (an ex’s) birthday- and he was irritated that I was irritated
I reluctantly posted your link on my blog. I want the blog, so I told them all to stay away (sorry).
And since this is a 2nd comment, can I say, the $1 box of chocolates I received from my Dad as a little girl was the best Valentine present EVER!
My best Valentine’s gift was when I was pregnant with my son and I was pampered, treated like a queen, and given a ton of stuff, like new clothes, books, candy, cookies, and a massage!
My worst Valentine’s gift would have to be when I got NOTHING from an ex. Yes, he is an EX for a reason!
I tweeted about the giveaway here http://twitter.com/BraydensMom0724/status/1154367756
Worse – I had only been dating my future hubby a few months and was sick. We had to cancel the wonderful plans he had made for us.
Best – Choc. covered strawberries, candles and a tub…need I say more?
I twittered this contest
Best Vday was 5 years ago when my husband asked me to marry him. I thought we were just going out to a nice dinner and when desert came around the waiter brought my ring in a box of chocolates. Everyone in the place started clapping after I said yes. It was like something out of a tv show!
Worst was 2 years ago vday. I was just about ready to have our second child and my husband got me NOTHING. Not even a card or a flower. Said he was too busy working. He better make up for it this year:)
rosarita242 at yahoo dot com
My best Valentine’s gift was two years ago when my husband surprised me with tickets to Harry Connick, Jr. for the following May. The concert was awesome! We sat in the fifth row, center and could practically see the spit coming out of HCJ’s mouth.
The worst? The nothing I’ve gotten from various boyfriends in my life.
And I tweeted it.
The worst gift was flowers from my ex, only to find out later he had spent the night before with someone else-
the best-Ii remember the simple box of candy my mom would give me when I was little, it’s a good memory, makes me feel good:)
trishnatey@gmail.com
Let’s see… I guess my favorite Valentine’s Day was my first one with my husband (we were dating then). He sent me flowers to work and took me to dinner. I new he was a keeper then. My worst Valentine’s Day gift was getting nothing at school when everyoe else in the glass got flowers, ballons and candy. I felt so unloved.
Best- flowers, my favorite
Worst- Edible Underware, think it was funny, but who would want to eat them? Even if they were coated in chocolate I probably wouldn’t eat them.
Best- Chocolate and going out for dinner
Worst- Sexy Clothes that where 2 sizes to small
we dont celebrate valentines day
Best Valentine’s gift – an adorable card from my daughter. WORST valentines gift. A recycled M&M dispenser taken out of the closet from my live-in boyfriend at the time. He did not even fill it with M&M’s! Plus since we lived together if I REALLy wanted to use it all I had to do was take it out of the closet.
tweet – http://twitter.com/misaacmom/status/1155092155
My best Valentine gift ever was my daughter, born on 2/14!
My worst Valentine gift ever was when my old boyfriend ordered flowers to be delivered to me and gave the wrong address, then got into a fight with the florist for screwing up the order! In the end I got nothing (We’re not together anymore).
Thanks for offering this beautiful bag!
I also emailed some friends the link to your website – thanks!
My fav Valentine’s gift was when my boyfriend at the time wrote i Love you on about 50 to 100 post it notes and put them in random places all over our house.
My best V-day was dinner, flowers and a movie (I don’t ask for much!!) My worst is that he forgot, completely, no card, no Happy Valentines day, nada! It was last year, he’s decided that V-day is a “Hallmark” holiday and we don’t need to be spending money on it! Bah humbug!
Best was when my hubby surprised me and got home from work early. Worst was probably when he forgot and didn’t do anything at all.
best= receiving lots of chocolate from my mom my first year away from home. it was winter I was tired and that 6 lbs of treats just made my day. lol
worst= a singing gram that kept following me around. good grief!
My best Valentine’s Day was the first one after we had our first daughter. We lost 5 babies before her and my husband got me a card that said, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Mommy.” It was so wonderful to see those words for me.
My worst was when my dh came home from work and said that he had just not had the time to do anything so he decided not to.
He said that he didn’t think it was that important. He doesn’t think that anymore!! ;D
Wow, gorgeous bag!!
Okay, best Valentine gift…my son (born Feb. 19th of ’06).
Worst – a “thoughtful” assortment of kitchen utensils to replace the ones my MIL had ruined while she was over trying to “help” with dinner one night. Thanks honey! Grrr…
Best: going out to cheese fondue and the chocolaty desserts last year (on the 13th). The worst? The next day (the 14th) he went off on a ski trip…leaving me behind.
oh well, maybe this year will be better!
Best: Surprise flowers and date with my hubby while 7 mo prego
Worst: An ex-BF breaking up with me and telling me he was cheating on me
my best valentines gift ever received was a ticket for two travel to Singapore. together with my boyfriend.
and the worst? I’m not permitted by my parents to go to.
but at the end of the day, my parents just agreed but with condition; my brother will also go with us.
and i twitted this.!
I think the worst was being FORGOTTEN on Valentine’s Day. Yeah, that didn’t go over well.
Best was stargazer lillies. I love them so so much!
Well, lets see. I have been married over 30 yrs. THe best that I received was a romantic 2 days away on the mountains. The worst was forgetting it was Valentines day. Actually though, everyday is a good one as I picked a great and loving husband!
Thank you for giving us all a chance to win the laptop case/bag. I love it!
Wow, that’s gorgeous!
My worst present…I got broken up with on V-day in college!
My best…my husband gets to come home from Iraq for one week soon!
Christy

Worst: getting nothing!
Worst: I got a hamster that sang “Surfing USA” UGH!
Best: Any handmade thing from my kiddos is great!
My worst Valentine’s present ever was when my husband completely forgot it was Valentine’s Day and he went to a basketball game with his friends.
The best present is a gold bracelet that my husband picked out just after our daughter was born.
I emailed it!
My best Valentine’s Gift was my daughter (who was actually born the day after V-day but close enough to me). My worst gift was probably the second year we were married when he didn’t do anything. He hasn’t made that mistake again!
Hmmm, my favorite Valentine’s day gift was when I got two amazing CDs. There have been some years where I didn’t get anything, so I guess those would be the worst lol.
Mariah
penguinqueen@hotmail.com
Best: My husband bought me a dozen roses which were delivered at my work – i felt like mrs. america.
Worst: No real worst, sometimes i don’t get anything but i told my husband a long time ago i would rather him remember to “gift” me little things all through the year than to remember once on valentines day, and he does. ^_^
Hmmm. . . my best Valentines gift was two years ago. I was engaged to be married, working 50-70 hrs/week, taking 20 credit hours of classes in college and fitting in dates in my spare time. My fiance had planned to take me out for my birthday (Feb. 11th)and Valentines, but due to a humongous snowstorm, the restaurant (the nicest one within an hour radius) closed and canceled all reservations. So, he braved the nasty roads to go to the grocery store and get all the fixings for a homemade gourmet meal. He did a tremendous job. He got me gifts, flowers, chocolates, and a card also (He said he wasn’t sure which I would prefer so he just got them all.) but the best gift was all the work he put into making my day super special!
As far as worst Valentine’s day gifts, last year I got a Little Mermaid teacher valentine from one of my 11 year old boy students. He proudly told me that he had picked it himself and that he liked it because she was only wearing a swimsuit!
Worst: I was 16, my boyfriend who I had one date with, gave me a teddy bear – then told me I needed to ‘put out’, after all he was giving me a teddy bear! Of course, I told him where to go and threw the bear in his face!
Best: My daughter gave birth to her my grandson the day before Valentine’s Day – ahhh…
I emailed two friends about this contest.
Best gift: a pair of beautiful earrings my sweetie made with his own hands. Worst gift: cheap chocolate. And I love chocolate – but not the cheap bad ones!
The best was a tiny charm of a heart and key
The worst was the year I got nothing. How can you forget Valentine’s Day!?
The best Valentine’s Day I ever had was when I worked at a Business College teaching students age 17 to 70. I was so shocked at all the goodies, flowers, candy and cards I got from them and was amazed at the wonderful comments on my cards.
The worst Valentine Day I remember was going to a diet doctor taking weekly shots and being on a diet. Of course I got one of the big boxes of millionares candy from a bf and of course I ate every one of them within a few days.
Ha! You have a great sense of humor…
Best: Many decades ago my high school sweetheart gave me a four foot teddy bear…wish I still had him…the bear, not the boyfriend.
Worst: While I needed it, I was a little icked out when my Mom presented me with a new ironing board cover…no, I didn’t take the hint.
Thanks for hosting this terrific giveaway…I love the prize you’re giving away!
sharonanne56[at]yahoo[dot]com
My best V-Day was last year… We had our brand new baby girl and had so much fun dressing her up in cute costumes and taking pictures for her valentines to her cousins. We also had a great date while Grandma watched our new girl.
Worst… I don’t really have a worst! Anything with me ex boyfriend could be considered my worst!!
Blogged about your giveaway

The first year my husband I were married was the best VDay ever! We had a “picnic” in the living room with this spread of food and desserts. It was so romantic! I am a lucky gal!
i blogged about your giveaway!

You may think this is harsh, but a dozen red roses is the worst, which has happened more than once. I don’t like them (long story), and it just showed complete lack of knowing me.
The best–oh, my sweetie knows me–chocolates, good
ones!
And the homemade cards from my babies.
That bag is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I LOVE RED!
Best Valentines gift ever: DH and I are dating our last year of high school, everyone did those cheap roses the school gives out, but not my dh, he gave me expensive white roses. Ah, the thought!
Worst Valentine gift ever: NOTHING! They just don’t go all out anymore once they already have you, don’t they!
My very best gift was my beautiful grand baby from my daughter. The worst however, was from my first husband. He thought if he bought me fishing gear I would go fishing with him. He bought me all the ice fishing things you can imagine (I hate being cold and I hate fishing) and then couldn’t understand why I didn’t like his stinking bait smelling gift. Guess that is why he is my ex!!
My best gift was a gift an old boyfriend left at my doorstep. We didn’t think we’d be able to spend time together on V-day because he had to work, so I went out with a few friends thinking I wouldn’t see him. well apparently he had somehow been able to get away from work and showed up at my house. I wasn’t there and when I came home I had this beautiful professionally wrapped box from him with flowers sitting next to it. The gift was some really nice perfume that I loved! it was also the first real valentines gift I ever got from a guy.
The worst gift was another guy I dated for a short time who just got a hallmark card and wrote his name. not even a short note. like “you’re special” or “I have so much fun with you.” just his signature and that was it. >.<
My best Valentine gift was a day of pampering (massage, etc.) with my two closest friends. My husband and their husbands worked it out together. Very thoughtful.
Oddly enough, my husband gave me both my worst and best Valentines presents. One year, he made up a box of See’s Candies, and most of the candy was the chocolate with the maple filling, my absolute fave. One year he gave me……….a bag of frozen tortellini. He thought I would like it. Doh!
my best vday was last year when i went into labor on valentines evening (good thing we decided to stay home and not go out to eat!), my worst was the year before when my husband (then fiance) was living in Africa and we could not celebrate at all!
The best gift I gave to my wife…
I had a dozen roses delivered to her work along with a small replica of her dog which was a cocker spaniel. Around the neck of the cocker spaniel was a 5 carat diamond tennis bracelet.
The worst gift I gave her was:
A goldfish…..
Our 4 year grandson picked it out and insisted that was what she wanted. Because it came from the 4 year old she thought it was great!!
If I won the bag I would give that to her this year.
She works in sales and a nice new lap\top bag would make her feel good.
EASY!!!
BEST- Magenta Dooney & Bourke bag
<3 that BAG!!
WORST- HAIRDRYER. nuf said. mine worked FINE. this MONSTER he brought home had NO thought…no effort it was the closet thing to the register in the isle of Walgreens. HE GOT NO V-DAY loving!! N O N E! UGH I dispise that dryer he got me …its like 1200 watts.. (takes forever to dry and its HEAVY as lead~)
Best: Last year hubby sent me flowers at work, then when I came home, he had a treasure hunt for me to find my favorite chocolates, and , of coure, him at the end.
Worst: Ex came home drunk with hickies on his neck.
My worst Valentine’s Day present was receiving – absolutely nothing! My partner, totally stressed out from his work, forgot – and he had never done this before! My best Valentine’s Day gift was a chair that a boyfriend made me totally by himself, from scratch, in an X shape (my name in Ukrainian – I’m Ukrainian-American), which he uphostered in red velvet, and this was eons ago and I have it to this day! A very PERSONALIZED gift!
Best: Just the typical V-Day stuff – chocolates, roses, and dinner made by my husband!
Worst: Can’t think of anything. Hubby’s got lots more years to work on that, though, haha! We don’t make a huge deal of Valentine’s day anyway…
Posted a link on my fave message board for ya!!
Best gift ever: a surprise romantic dinner, prepared by my hubby at home, with candles and good china!
Worst gift ever: a box of candy when I was on a diet!!
My worst was when I receive NOTHING. I had told my husband what I wanted where to buy it and how much it was so he didnt have to do any work other than buy it. He couldnt even do that! Hes still hearing about that one years later. He has since given me great gifts.
Thank you for being part of the Bloggy giveaway. We all appreciate it.

My best valetines gift was a dozen purple roses, a teddy bear that sings, and godiva chocolates
. I never really have had a bad valentines gift.
Best I would say would be the typical roses. My hubby isn’t always the most romantic, so that meant a lot!
Worst, nothing…and that happens more often than not!
Maybe this year things will change! HA! A woman can dream, right?!
I still love him anyway though!!
Oh, this is a great giveaway!
My best Valentine’s Day gift: a night out for dinner and a show. (We saw Cherish The Ladies perform with our local symphony orchestra.) It was very romantic!
My worst Valentine’s Day gift: an IOU. Um, yeah.
Not kidding, my worst V-Day gift was a toilet brush…my husband thought it would be funny. NOT.
I am back to let you know I am blogging/linking to this:)
Best: Starbucks Venti Java Chip Frappacino add shot, extra ice double blended!~~this treat goes a Long way in my book.
Worst:~~Nothing that I can remember that I would need any counseling for.
My best Valentines was when I had to go to my sister’s who was having cancer surgery to help her and her girls, my husband sent me and our 6 month old daughter our own valentine flowers. He also sent my sister and her girls something also
My worst has to be with my EX husband waited until 11:58 at night to give me his valentine gift which was a sorry wilted carnation, he thought I would be ever so grasious that he remebered, he thought the “Waiting” would make it better, it just made me bitter.
