Don’t miss the George Foreman Grill giveaway at Reviewsings this week!
This week I learned that every woman’s face is different, and to really learn how to apply makeup with tones and techniques to bring out YOUR unique beauty, the best bet is to get a professional consultation. I know I’ve talked about the makeup artist I met last Thursday ad nauseam, so I’ll just leave you with a few links on the off chance you didn’t see my posts about my makeover.
In addition to the lavender eye shadow being a nice compliment to hazel eyes, I also learned that putting blush UNDER the cheekbones rather than right on the cheekbone area will add fullness to the face, if that’s what you’re after. AND I learned that lipstick colors for spring are bolder, so I bought a gloss with a pinkish-red tint that I’m enjoying. Finally, I was told not to neglect my toner as I age, as it balances the PH in the skin and helps the moisturizer be more effective. Now to find the time to apply this knowledge between wiping butts and washing dishes!

SO! Now I want to know what YOU learned this week. Here are the carnival rules.
1. Any time this week, publish your What I Learned This Week post on your blog. (It can be one sentence. It can be several paragraphs. It can be a list. It can be serious. It can be silly. It can be thoughtful and profound. It can be sarcastic. It can be sentimental. It can be ANYTHING that you learned as long as it is of a family friendly nature.)
2. Within that post, please mention the What I Learned This Week carnival and link to this post.
3. Then link up with the Mr. Linky form down below. (Please only link if you have written a What I Learned This Week post. And please link directly to the carnival post, not the main page of your blog. And finally, please do not put a Mr. Linky on your post. THANKS!)
4. Then visit the other participants and see what they learned this week. And comment, comment, comment! Because we ALL love comments. And may I suggest that if you link in towards the end of the day, start visiting the participants from the end of the list and work your way back to the front. Because when I make my rounds, I notice that the first few people who link in get a WHOLE LOT MORE comments than those who link in at the end. Spread the love!
Alrightythen. Ready, Set, GO!

I’m ready but don’t see Mr. Linky!
Glad you learned all that and passed the info on to us. I need all the help I can get!
I loved your makeup posts this week – I probably should wear makeup more often, and put more thought into it!
My lessons from this week are up
I wear so little in the makeup dept. it is sad. I won’t leave the house without eyeliner and mascara but that is also all I ever put on. I own more, just don’t like it.
I definitely agree about the blush below the cheekbone (for you, I haven’t tried it on myself), and that you’d look better with a darker lip – partially because you have dark hair (and wear bold clothing colors).
I’m pretty sure you only have to wipe one bottom, if that, so WHATEVER!!! lol
Such awesome things you learned this week
I missed the posts! I’m going to have to go back and read them. You’re so right about the makeup application. It does pay to see a pro at least once or twice. Applying makeup is really its own art form. There is a certain way to do it right.
I wish I had a make-up artist in my house. I could look fabulous all the time.
Always good to learn new techniques but it’s also always hard to break from the old habits. I’ll keep trying though.
Love the make-up tips. I very rarely wear ANY, but when I do, like an upcoming wedding, I am a mess! I will use your tips for sure! Now is there a trick to make your face look LESS full! LOL!:O)
I would love to have a makeover with a good makeup artist. I did know that lavender eye shadow goes well with hazel eyes, which is why that is the only color of eyeshadow besides neutrals that I own!
I thought you looked great in all the colors. I know nothing about applying eye makeup other than mascara. Maybe a future tutorial over at Chic Critique for those of us with asian eyes?
You always look so pretty! I wish I could do more with my eyes, eyeshadow seems to disappear on me. I try to focus on lips. I am addicted to sheer colored lip glosses. They are easy to put on and everyone looks better with a little shine.
Good stuff and thanks for sharing. I think it is about time for me to get a consultation. My skin seems to be changing.
Love that last line – so true!
Make-up? What make-up? How about a shower today?!?!?
I’m in…a little late, but it seems to have worked (the Mr. Linky and all). I’ll visit the other ladies tonight when I have more time.
finally posted mine!
You clever mommy! I love this idea. Innately we are all “sharers” and this is a wonderful forum. Thank you and please consider it again!
I love finding makeup tips that actually work for me! It is fun and takes away the guessing game.
Oh! I’m new here! Need to chew on this. Maybe next time I’ll make the cut?
Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for entering my bloggy giveaway. I wish I could give everyone a copy of Stone Crossings, I enjoyed it so much!
Blessings,
Laura
Oh no! I was trying to finish going through all the links. They were here at 6:00 pm and now they’re gone. What’s a girl to do?
