Win A Night at the Hyatt

That’s right.  For five days in a row, one lucky reader will be randomly chosen to win a night at the Hyatt of his/her choice.  (That’s FIVE winners, for those of you who are mathematically challenged.)  You can go alone, with the love of your life, or with your whole family.  It’s entirely up to you.

I’m letting my husband tag along on my night away because I’m nice like that.  And besides, I thought it might be fun to have a dinner companion while I’m away.  We’re going to stay at the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue in downtown Philadelphia over Mother’s Day weekend, and I absolutely CAN NOT WAIT.  There is nothing quite as luxurious and relaxing as a night away in a posh hotel (unless it’s a WEEK away in a posh hotel, but they didn’t offer me that so a night it is!)  I’m already looking forward to those luscious sheets.  If they’re anything like the ones at the Hilton in Nashville where I stayed last fall, then I may not leave my room the entire time.

Before I get around to telling you how to enter MY contest, I want to tell you about an even BIGGER contest that is being hosted by the Hyatt.  It’s called The Big Welcome and there are two facets to it.

The Big Welcome Contest: 365 Free Nights

Three people will win 365 free nights at any Hyatt hotel around the world by answering the question, “How would you spend 365 free nights at Hyatt to create an unforgettable experience?”

The Big Welcome Sweepstakes: 10,000 Free Nights

Then one free night at the Hyatt will be awarded to 30,000 people selected at random from all eligible entries received during the promotional time period.

You’ll want to go to the The Big Welcome official site for complete rules and details.  But how TOTALLY COOL IS THAT?

Now as for me and MY contest, here are the rules:

Leave a comment on this post telling me how/where/when/why you would use your free night at the Hyatt (anywhere in the WORLD!!!) Then every day next week, Monday through Friday, I will randomly select a winner from the list of commenters and announce the winner on one of my posts that day.  (I will also contact the winners via email so don’t worry if you aren’t a daily visitor.  Although if you’re not, WHY NOT?  You’re missing a lot of fun!)

Meanwhile, don’t forget to enter the Contest and Sweepstakes at The Big Welcome for your chance to win 365 free nights at any Hyatt worldwide.

  1. I would probably use mine for my Husband’s birthday coming up next month. For a little weekend get away.. hmm Where.. probably somewhere in my state. Far enough away to feel like we are away but close enough for a quick weekend trip with out to much driving :-)

Why.. thats easy.. because I love him and would love to spend the weekend with him and whats better than a free night in a nice hotel!

  2. Erin D. says:

My husband’s b-day is coming up too! I’m hoping to take him to a Braves game in Atlanta to celebrate, and it would be WONDERFUL to be able to stay a day for free! This is such a great give-away!! : )

  3. amy says:

    A night in a hotel?
    Gosh, that would be swell,
So my hubby and I could finally talk.
See, with three kids under five,
    Our life is a hive,
with busy bees buzzing, playing, all day long.
    For one quiet night,
We wouldn’t even need a flight–
We could stay in Baltimore, DC, or Philly.
    Order dinner in the room,
    Stare outside at the moon,
It would not matter at all what we did.
    But some time to re-connect,
    We’d love it–you bet!
So I hope that this contest we win!

  4. Emily E. says:

We are currently mulling over the idea of taking a fun little trip to celebrate my husband’s birthday. A free night at the Hyatt would be perfect for that!

  5. Jaime says:

I would use it as a 6-year anniversary get-away for me and my husband. I haven’t yet spent a night away from my 14-month-old and I think that it is about time!

  6. Emily Kay says:

I would definitely leave the kids with family and have a short get-away with my husband. We haven’t had one of those since our honeymoon.

  7. Cathy says:

How cool is that? Hmmm. I’d probably take a night when my girlfriends driving (approx. 12 hours) to come see me on the May Long Weekend. We’d probably stay overnight, order in, and do our nails, dye our hair or something equally as frivolous! :)

  8. tina says:

I would spend my free night at the Hyatt in my big white comfy robe and that is it!!! HINT HINT
With my husband of course! He can wear a robe also!

  9. Amy says:

I want to visit a blog friend in Dallas to go see the American Idol concert there with her. This would be perfect!

  10. Kim says:

I would ask my mom to pick a North East city to visit that had a Hyatt hotel and take her out for the day in that city (with the kiddos in tow)..and then enjoy a nice relaxing slumper in the Hyatt’s awesome bed!!

  11. Kellyn says:

I think I would actually use mine for a night alone…with peace and quiet…how wonderful does that sound! After this past weekend and the coming three weeks it would be nice to have one night alone!

  12. Jeni says:

I would use my night sometime toward the end of the summer, and leave my 2 year old & my almost-born baby with my parents for the night. Then I’d kidnap my hubby, and we’d have take-out & watch movies in bed & SLEEP. And it would be awesome. :-)

  13. Jen says:

    Wow – what a great contest (:
If I were so lucky, I would use the free night in Chicago (think train ride down, Cubs game, and Navy Pier museum) for a mini vacation with the hubby and the 6 yr old son. I would leave the 2 yr old home w/ Grandpa – that alone would be a vacation in of itself!

  14. Stephanie says:

Of course I’m a daily visitor! What an awesome giveaway! Honestly, I’d love to stay downtown Chicago. It’s nearby enough that Hubby and I could leave the kids and go- can you imagine!?- by ourselves for an overnight and maybe get some good dinner, the Art Institute, and shopping in, too.

    Would love to win!!

    Steph

  15. Mary B says:

I would use it Thanksgiving weekend 2009. Thanksgiving Day is my 15th wedding anniversary. We’ve never been able to forward anytime away from the kids doing anything lavish in several years so this would be a great way to celebrate. Thanksgiving 2009 also marks the 1 year anniversary of the day the my husband and kids were in a serious auto accident. We are so thankful their lives were spared (there were t-boned) and that as serious as the injuries were they could have been much worse. The physical injuries are healing but the emotional battles are still being fought.

  16. What an amazing giveaway! I would probably use it as a getaway for hubby and me. We could go spend the night in Philly, go out to dinner, maybe go see a show or a Phillies game. Fun!

  17. Candace says:

My husband and I really need some alone time! We’d go somewhere in Dallas and just enjoy the silence.. among other things :) . We’d go anytime we could get someone to watch our kids.

  18. Pamela C. says:

I would probably use my night to either stay at a Hyatt while my son is at Cleveland Clinic or use it to stay at one after he has his surgery and my husband and I feel we can get away for a much needed night of relaxing. It is a long story but in a nutshell my son has been very sick since Oct. 2007. His care has been very important to us and he is most comfortable when he is with somebody he know can take care of him during an epileptic seizure. (Thus relaxing makes the chance of a seizure less likely.) In a couple of weeks we are going to Cleveland Clinic where he is going to have a temperol lobe resection done. Scarey but at the same time we hope this will be the end of his seizures.

The whole family could use some pampering after this is over!

Thanks for a chance to win and have a wonderful day.

  19. Amy says:

I would definitely use it for a quick weekend getaway with my husband in either Birmingham or Atlanta. It would be amazing!

  20. Shell says:

I would take my husband to the big city (Anchorage) for a night or two to get away and do some shopping!

  21. Jo-Lynne, you get the BEST giveaways!

We spent my birthday weekend camping with the kids, one of whom is 6 months old. I tried to be a good sport.

We’ve been planning a quick trip to Memphis, and this would be a huge improvement on camping!

  22. Stacey says:

I would use it for a night away with my husband. We really haven’t had a night away together without kids in tote since before my daughter was born….3 years ago. Oh we need it. Maybe we would make it a weekend adventure to Chicago. This is starting to sound good!!

  23. Terra says:

Oh this is easy – I am SUCH A HYATT GIRL! I would either use it right away at the Park Hyatt BEaver Creek because it is my FAV or save it to bundle with a trip to The Hyatt in Huntington Beach – we are ready to hit the beach soon! Land – locked here in CO!

  24. zmama says:

I’d use it for a night in San Diego for our wedding anniversary this summer! We’re hoping to get away to the west coast!!

  25. I would use it for our 10th anniversary next month!

  26. My hubby and I only get away to a hotel MAYBE 2 nights per year, and that’s for our anniversary. I’m not sure where I’d use it … I don’t think it would matter. It would just be WONDERFUL to get away :)

  27. Jamie says:

Me, me, me! Our 12th wedding anniversary is May 3 and my 40th birthday is in August so I would use the night to have a lovely evening away with my husband.

  28. Ashley says:

I would LOVE to surprise my hubbie with a night out at a Hyatt! He loves to stay in hotels, but since we’re on a small one-income budget, we rarely do.

  29. Christine says:

Wow I dont even know where we would go..but somewhere fun and different with the kids… this is so exciting.. thank you!!!

  30. ursula says:

okay, this would be wonderful….we’ve got DH’s b-day in May, mine in June, anniversary in July, and well, okay, Mother’s and Father’s Day in between…..does that mean that we have to take the kids???!! Maybe we would – a night in NYC sounds just heavenly.

  31. Becky says:

I would use mine on June 5, 2009 in Columbus, OH. We have to make a day trip there and it would be so much nicer if we could stay overnight. The kids will be with Grandma and Grandpa and we haven’t had a night together without both of them EVER. That is since October 30, 2004!!! Hope I win. I deserve it!

  32. Susan says:

I would use mine while visiting the inlaws this summer in N.Dakota. We usually stay with them but it’s hard on everyone and kind of cramped. This would be like a mini-vacation inside our vacation….fun!

  33. Hmmmm. Two ideas immediately spring to mind. First, my mom is turning 70 in May, and she said that all she wants is to take my sisters and me on a trip to California. The trip is mostly planned except for the last night–she couldn’t decide where she wanted to stay. So a night in a Hyatt . . . on me! . . . would be extra-special for her.

The second thought that comes to mind is that next year my second daughter turns 16. For each of our girls’ 16th birthday, we plan a special mother/daughter trip to England. I could save it and use it then (if international destinations are allowed).

    Thanks for the opportunity!!

  34. Holly says:

My husband and I haven’t been away ALONE in almost 12 years!! I would so love to surprise him for his birthday in June!!

  35. Dee says:

I would use it to drag my hubby away from work long enough to have a relaxing evening with me! We would love it!

  36. Kacey says:

Is it too easy to just say I would use it to RELAX? Well, the 6-year anniversary of the day I met my husband is coming up in June. At least THAT’S a notable occasion!

  37. Mrs. H says:

hmmm… just listening to a sermon from a marriage series in which the pastor said as married couples we need to take a vaca (overnight) away from our kids twice a year. I’d use this as one! :) We’d probably just stay in a nearby city, maybe using it as an excuse to check out some stores or museums in that city. Thanks!!

  38. How fun is this?

We would definitely use ours to go to NYC. My husband is commuting there now, and he does come home at night, but it’s a looong commute.

Last week we stayed over one night for Spring Break, and we plan on doing it a few times this summer, so a free night would be great! And the Hyatt in Times Square is really nice.

  39. This would be a much longed for night away for my husband and I. We would visit the Hyatt here in our city of Memphis at Wolfchase. We would order in, watch some movies and talk. We can rarely hear ourselves talk over the roar of our 3 boys at home! Thanks for the awesome chance to win!

  40. Okay – I would use the night on an ordinary saturday night, so my bub & I could get a sitter, head downtown, shop, relax, actually get a reservation at audrey claire or django :) and enjoy breakfast in bed on Sunday morning!!!

    what a great giveaway!

  41. weavermom says:

    Wow! Great prizes!

My husband and I have not both spent the night away from the kiddos since they were born. And my daughter will be 8 on Sunday. Need I say more?

Cause I could afford the overnight sitter if I had a place to go!!

  42. Jessica H. says:

I would take my husband and go for a night in San Diego. We have a new baby due to arrive in September, so it would be nice to get away alone before we become a family of 4 :)

  43. Heather says:

I’d spend my night somewhere near the ocean…maybe the Outer Banks! Or, maybe I’d drag (lovingly, of course!) my husband up to DC for a weekend away!

  44. Linda says:

I would use it for me, me and more me. Or maybe I would send the husband and daughter and I stay home and get the closets changed out. I never seem to have time for that. I hope I get it done for July this year (blushing).

  45. Alison says:

We have an anniversary coming up in June and currently have no plans–a night in a Hyatt would be lovely!

  46. Gay says:

Date night, baby! Our 4 year old does not like to go to bed at a reasonable hour, nor does he like to stay in his bed…a night away would be luxurious!

  47. Kristen M. says:

I would choose the Manchester Grand Hyatt in my hometown (San Diego). I’d spend the day at the pool with my family and send the kids home with a babysitter at night so that my husband and I could have a little alone time.

  48. Nikki says:

My husband and I are planning a trip to celebrate our 10th anniversary this summer (even though it was actually last year) and all of his graduations (med school/residency/ fellowship). We’ve never had the time or money (and we still don’t really have the money) to go somewhere without the children. We’ve already got the grands lined up to babysit and are still researching where to go. Caribbean, maybe? Or maybe Cancun. Only stipulation is that there has to be golf nearby! Thanks for another great give-away!

  49. Melissa says:

My hubby and I live a block away from the Hyatt Resort, so close we ride our bikes there for ice cream! We have 2 boys ages 6 and 8 and HAVE YET to spend a night away from them!! We’ve ventured to the Hyatt for the day alone, then retrieve them to spend the night too!! My hubby would LOVE it, if I surprised him with this!!!!

  50. windy says:

I have been trying to convince me hubby that we need a few days away for our anniversary – a free night would help me out so much!! This is awesome – thanks for the chance to win:)
PS And I will be reading every day next week – to read your posts – not to check winners!

  51. Sara says:

I would spend it in Hawaii, and why not stretch it to a week while we are at it? Guess I have to enter the 365 days contest to really make a huge dream come true!

  52. Suzy says:

I am planning to go to the Women of Faith conference in June and having a free hotel stay would really help with my expenses. I would love to be able to “treat” my two friends to the room.

  53. Laura Brandon says:

I would use my night with my husband for our anniversary in October, and we would go to the Hyatt resort about 15 miles north of where we live, because it’s really nice and it would make a nice anniversary!

  54. MaryBeth says:

I would use it to spend a glorious night alone with my hubbie when he comes home from Iraq.

  55. My husband wants to spend the night out for our seventh anniversary (6/15). If I win, then that’s the final push that I need to leave the kids with someone overnight for the first time ever!

  56. Lori says:

I don’t know where we would stay. In Houston? We could take the kids with us and visit the Children’s Museum. Galveston? We could visit the beach. San Antonio? We could go to Sea World. Um, I guess it would be somewhere in Texas.

  57. It would be a tough choice. On one hand using it for a family mini-vacation would be fun. But so would a night away with just my hubby (and the nursing infant. Can’t forget him.).

But I THINK I would cash in all my brownie points and just plain ol’ BEG for 24 hours A.L.O.N.E. (well, me and the nursing boy) with the bed, HGTV, and room service. Sounds heavenly!!!

  58. My sweet hubby is away
    With the US Air Force
He has six months to do
    I miss him, of course.
    We’d use the free night
    To frolic and dine
    And after a massage
    I’d be feeling fine.
    The city wouldn’t matter
As long I was with him
    I’m crossing my fingers
For this night I hope to win.

  59. April says:

Can someone say room service? Aaahh … nothing better than having food delivered to your room AND then having someone come clean up after you! Man, my kids have it made! Ha, ha! I would love to treat myself (and my hubby, too) to a night of relaxation, just to soak up the silence! LOL! I love being a mommy to my 2 boys, but a girl has to recharge sometime! Hyatt, here I come!! :o )

  60. Marcy says:

I would stay at the Hyatt in Savannah, GA. My brother lives there and we are hoping to visit sometime this summer. I would beg my SIL and brother to keep my daughter so that we could escape for one night just to be alone. In silence. So that we can talk about adult things. And eat adult food. And drink adult beverages. Lots of them. :-)

  61. Dana says:

I would use the night away to celebrate our anniversary in August. The Chesapeake, VA location would be wonderful! With baby #2 due in early June, we’ll be due for a nice overnight getaway in late August.

  62. Anne says:

Awesome giveaway!!! (But you already knew that, right?) ;)

Where would I use my free one night? I don’t know. . . TOO MANY choices. The most probable would be a night in this town or even a night in Dallas. Just a quick getaway. But we would love to be able to work out a trip for our ten year anniversary in 2010 and this might help out in the budget. (In my mind “free night” equals “more shopping bucks.” ;)

  63. Lori says:

We’re planning a second honeymoon to Maui, so that would be our choice. Especially since lodging there costs the proverbial arm and a leg! ;)

  64. Nikki says:

Great give-away! My husband and I never celebrated our 10th anniversary last summer and we’ve not had the time or money to celebrate his graduation from medical school r residency. We’re planning a trip this summer to celebrate all of the above, plus his graduation from fellowship. Childcare is already lined up, now we just need a place to go. We’ve thought about the Caribbean or maybe Mexico. The Hyatt in Cancun looks great! Thanks!

  65. Amy says:

My hubby and I will be celebrating nine years of wedded bliss next month and this would be an exciting win for us so we could get away from the kids for a night. I am as madly in love with him as ever. The poor man works his tail off all day at work and then continues to work through the evening hours to keep my site staying up and strong. This would be a fun gift for my hard-working man!! Thanks for the chance to win!

  66. Becky says:

Hmmmmm…have to think. This has to be good, right. Unfortunately, thinking was washed down the drain with the bath water. Maybe that’s what I’d do. Find a nice hotel room. Cozy up and reconnect with my brain. Nah, sounds too boring, and lonely. After all I’m around people all the time. Okay, so the truth is I’d find my man, sweep him away, and sleep through the night and late into the morning — like 7:15!!!

  67. Mary L says:

I would use the night for my husband’s 31st birthday coming up. Last year we were unable to celebrate his bis “30″ because we had newborn twin boys who had just come home from the NICU. He’s such a great father, and he deserves to celebrate his birthday in style! Plus, it would be amazing to get a night of sleep without being awoken by one of the twins!

  68. Catherine says:

Leave the twins with Daddy. And go ALONE. Maybe get a spa treatment and sleep in. That’s all I want. Really.

  69. I would pick the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa since it is near us. A little trip alone with hubby would be so nice. We’ve been wanting to get away together for a while.

  70. I would use it for the get-away my husband and I are planning to celebrate my 30th birthday (which is right around the corner – yikes!)!!

  71. jdp says:

Is there a Hyatt close to the National Mall? We want to visit there w/o having to drive into the city.

  72. Carey says:

We’d use it on our trip to Chicago.

  73. Cindy says:

Would use it for my birthday coming up soon! This would be awesome!
    Thanks for offering it!
    Cindy

  74. Brenda says:

I wouldn’t care where I used it. I’d just like to get away from the grind. I’d even take my hubby!

  75. Julie says:

We have older relatives we don’t get to see very often. It’s not possible to stay in their home, but it sure would be nice to visit. We’d stay at the Hyatt in Baltimore.

  76. Whoa. Cool. My husband and I took our honeymoon in the spring of 2006, got pregnant, and haven’t had a romantic weekend away since then.

I would love to surprise him with this and drop my daughter off at her aunt & uncles – she would LOVE to have that much time with her cousins. We would go up to the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis, spend some time at the Mall of America, and then spend some time out in Stillwater, MN, a little town PACKED with used book stores. That sounds like heaven. =)

  77. renee says:

I would use my free night to go to Chattanooga, TN and take my daughter and husband to the Tennessee Aquarium, the Discovery Museum, and the Chattanooga Zoo. Then we’d eat dinner at the Big River Grille and go back to our hotel for a before bed swim. Then, back to the hotel to CRASH!

  78. Sharon says:

It would be a nice get-away for my hubbie and me. We just celebrated 36 years of marriage and it would be a belated anniversary gift to him.

  79. Rebecca C says:

We would be using it locally, because the economy is really hurting our entertainment budget. A staycation is always fun too!

  80. Anna says:

I would stay at the Hyatt in Bellevue, WA and have my hubby take me over to the Bellevue Square for a day of shopping and good eats. When? Anytime we can get a sitter. Why? For fun of course!

  81. CC says:

I would probably use it right here in town just to get away. I can’t ever get away from the kids since we have no family around and no where to go. But this would be so awesome!!

  82. jenny M says:

Id love to win a friday night stay as our hyatt has a water park and Id love to take the kids to play on Saturday am!!

  83. Val says:

Holy crap! I would go by myself! No one bugging me, asking me questions, I can take a peaceful bath, room service. No making beds, cleaning, cooking dinner, nothing. Pure bliss :)

  84. K. C. says:

I would probably use it for our anniversary, in August and we would go to San Diego, where we honeymooned. :)

  85. Kristen says:

We just celebrated our 3rd anniversary — and now, with little one in tow, we didn’t really do much. A night away would be so fun! Where? Perhaps NYC because we are headed there for a week (for work) at the end of May.

  86. mona says:

This would be awesome! Just to get away for a night without the baby!
Somewhere nice but not too far! Fingers crossed!

  87. Bethany says:

My husband and I want to take a trip for our 10th anniversary this summer, so maybe we’ll pick the best Hyatt location we can find and go there!

  88. Christine says:

I’d most defintely pack up my husband and our baby for a getaway to Flagstaff! I’d actually probably make it for Father’s Day because I better have something up my sleeve since I’ve made such a big deal about Mother’s Day coming up. :)

  89. Angel S. says:

I’d wisk my hubby away for a fantastic date night! Staying in a nice hotel is so wonderful! Thanks!

  90. My husband I eloped. I always said I wanted to renew our wedding vows for our ten year anniversary. Well, getting laid off put a kabosh on that. So, I’d use our night to go somewhere on our top 5 travel destinations (like Greece or Spain) and find someone local to renew our vows, just the two of us.

  91. Elena says:

I would spend it with my hubby as a last night getaway before my baby comes in June!

  92. Marie R says:

I would use it as a little getaway for me and my husband. My son will be turning one soon and we still have not a grown up date yet.

  93. d says:

I’d use it to get away with my husband for our upcoming 15th anniversary. I think I’d want to go somewhere we haven’t visited recently. It might be hard to pick.

  94. Tiffany says:

I heard about your giveaway from Metropolitian Mama. After reading some of the comments above I would love a night away from the kids with my hubby. But we also live at least 3 hours from the nearest Hyatt. We would use our free night at a Hyatt in Denver (I think there is one downtown near or on the 16th Street Mall). The whole family would head down to Denver, spend the night and enjoy at day at the zoo. My 4 year old will love it!

  95. Amy says:

I would love a night at the Hyatt Waikiki! My boyfriend and I live in Hawaii and I will be leaving for college soon and I would love to spend a romantic weekend together before I leave. I’ve never been to the Hyatt before (it’s more of a tourist thing) but I think that is what might make it fun!

  96. Michelle says:

I’d love to get away and spend a night at the Hyatt with my husband–we both need a vacation!

  97. Rhonda says:

Ohhh! How nice it would be to have one night of luxury after a day of travel. We have a trip planned to San Diego, which equals 7 hour drive(that was before having a little guy). Even just to treat ourselves in our own town would be nice too, spontaneity is always fun.

  98. Sky says:

Well, in June we are packin’ the kids up and driving to Kentucky! We are going to stop in St. Louis to take a break and look at the sites. I’d love to stay at the Hyatt then, because it’s close to everything. The Arch, Busch Gardens. Plus, after a day of driving, doesn’t mama need a break? Or you know, a drink? Heck, a lovely hotel to stay in? Sign me up!!!

    seeryusfam@msn.com

  99. BlapherMJ says:

I would take my oldest daughter away for some “special time” away. She’s so busy with school and work, yet still wants to spend some time with her Mom! How lucky am I?! We could both use the break and the quality time!

  100. lisa says:

I’d use mine at a local hotel, in a couple of months, after I wean the baby. I’ve had exactly one full night’s sleep in the past 12 1/2 months. It would be a nice break to haul the kiddos to my sister’s house, pack up the husband, and go get 10 or 12 hours of blessed sleep.
    That’s kind of boring, huh?

  101. Tina says:

I so would love to win a night at the Hyatt! You see, my husband loves to camp. And I, well, I love to not camp! This would be a perfect weekend – we could camp one night and then stay at a the swanky Hyatt the next! Win-win for both of us!

  102. Allison says:

What an awesome giveaway! My baby just turned one today (well, technically yesterday), and my hubby and I have been talking about getting away for a night or two, since we haven’t done that since he came along. This would be perfect! We live in Florida, so we would go to a nearby beach. Oh, I’m dreaming of it already!

  103. Nicole says:

I would probably go somewhere within 3-5 hours of home as a mini vacation with the family.

  104. Amanda Socci says:

I’d LOVE to win your contest for the one-night stay at Hyatt in order to stay somewhere near Hershey Park on either August 23 or August 25th. We are planning a double-header celebration!

We are planning to see the Wiggles on their “Go Bananas” tour and at the same time, we’re celebrating my husband’s birthday.

The last time we went to Hershey was in 2003. We went together as a married couple and had the time of our lives seeing Toby Keith in concert. Six years later, we”re celebrating to a different tune. We are celebrating the fact that we would be married almost 11 years as of August AND that we now have a beautiful daughter who will be 3 and a few months by then.

Not only is this a celebration of a birthday and a concert, but a celebration of life! We are a blessed family who is not rich, but definitely rich in health, safety, security, and happiness – those are the most important things we’re celebrating.

Thank you, Jo-Lynne, for sponsoring this exciting contest. I am Amanda Socci, from Alexandria, Virginia. http://www.AmandaSocci.com and http://twitter.com/CreativeAMS

  105. I have an anniversary on May 14th and a 15 month-old. Enough said!

  106. Heather says:

    Ooooh, what a great giveaway!

We’d probably go to Nashville if we won a free night. It’s only 2 hours away and such a great city, but we never make the time to go there like we say we will, so this would be the perfect opportunity! It would be a fun family long-weekend getaway.

When? Not sure…maybe early June, as soon as school gets out. Why? Who doesn’t need to get away? :)

    Thanks!

  107. Michelle says:

Our wedding anniversary is coming up May 24th and we are trying to plan a weekend getaway to NYC. Would use it there!

    Thanks!

  108. Mama Bub says:

There’s a gorgeous Hyatt at the beach near here. It’s just a hop, skip and a jump from the grandparents, so we can drop Bub off and maybe enjoy a night away for our anniversary. FUN giveaway!

  109. Oh I would definitely use the Hyatt in Korea to see my 80- year old father! He used to come to the US every year, but the trips are getting harder and harder for him. Whew, those 13-hr plane rides are hard on anyone. So, we, his only daughter, his only grandson and only son-in-law! want to visit him in 2010. Wouldn’t it be great if we could stay at the Hyatt instead of at his small apartment??

  110. Robyn says:

I would use it to take my husband on a much-needed and deserved vacation to wherever he wanted to go!

He is the sole bread-winner in our little family and works very hard at a job he does not like. He does it all to take care of my daughter and I. He is the most amazing husband, friend and (step)dad that my daughter and I could ever ask for!. He always does for us or the family first… never himself!!! I would love take him for a night away somewhere he wants to go without worrying about the financial strain.

  111. Tara says:

I am a daily reader and would love to win a free night. I would choose the Hyatt Regency in Aruba. Yeah, that’s right. Forget the cities, I want some white sand! I would choose to go for my upcoming 30th birthday in August and spend it with my husband and toddler.

  112. Jean M. says:

I would use it for the hubs and I’s anniversary next month. My parents got us tickets for the Lion King on Broadway and it would be super awesome for the hubs and I to send the kids back home with Grandma and Grandpa after the show and stay at the Hyatt in downtown OKC. This would make our anniversary extra special!

  113. Amanda says:

Our 5 year anniversary is coming up and we are having company. So, I would let our company babysit for the night and we would take off on a train up along the coast to San Fran and spend our night there! I’ve always wanted to go and see the sights and this would be the perfect time to do it….without a stroller, car seat and kid in tow! love it!

  114. Denitra says:

Ooooh! I would want to use it for a little getaway before baby arrives! Perhaps a night to ourselves for our anniversary while we’re in VA Beach visiting family. Or just head into Philly sometime during the summer or for Mother’s Day! The possibilities are endless!

  115. Andrea says:

I wouldn’t care where it was as long as it is without kids and include a night of uninterrupted sleep!

  116. Emily says:

Ooooh sounds like Heaven! With Husbando recently laid off and our first baby on the way I would use the night as a celebration/babymoon. We’ve been dying to head down to Portland so I’d make it a road trip and celebrate us!

  117. TRS says:

I’ll be honest – I would use a night at a Hyatt just to make travel affordable. I’m a single gal, who struggled with many months of unemployment, finally found a full time job only for them to cut my hours in half!

Meanwhile, all my friends and family keep living their lives. It would be nice to be able to attend a wedding that I would otherwise have to skip because I can’t afford a hotel stay.

Or use one night in a hotel to cut the drive back to home state in half. I hate driving alone, but going halfway, and sleeping at a posh hotel would make it easier!

    Thanks for this opportunity!!

  118. Janel says:

Oh, our anniversary is coming up! I would maybe do New York City again. Or is there one in Mexico somewhere. I could seriously handle that. Oh fun – thanks for the opportunity!

  119. We would stay a night at one of the Hyatt locations in London. We have a big vacation coming up this June (a toddler-free week outside of Newcastle, England!) and we’ll be staying our last night in London before we head back to the States.

  120. Kristin says:

Hubby and me, somewhere in the mountains, on a hot summer day. That would be divine.

  121. allison says:

we would go somewhere beachy!! we love the beach!!!!

  122. Sabrina says:

I would go anywhere..as long as me and hubby were without kids and away from our cell phones. I would love to visit New York or Vegas! We love excitment!

  123. Stefanie @ Mommy Musings says:

I would use the 5 nights for our upcoming anniversary! Every year we always say we are going to do “something” and we never do! Someplace in Florida- maybe Miami, Sarasota, or Orlando.

  124. Stefanie @ Mommy Musings says:

    Ok, I am a moron…I meant 1 night, not 5…read that wrong. :)

  125. sari says:

Oh. I may just use it to go alone. Because I’m married with three kids and a dog. And a bunch of fish. And other stuff.

    Or maybe not.

    :-)

  126. Jill says:

I would love to say a Hyatt in Hawaii; but considering I don’t see free airfare included in this giveaway I’ll be reasonable and say the Hyatt Regency In Kansas City MO. It’s a few hours away and when we were first married we loved to go to a little hotel in KC and walk around the Plaza. It would be fun to go there this spring and just enjoy being away from the hustle and bustle of the day to day.
Might have to talk my husband into the Hawaii thing however in a few years!!

  127. Jessica says:

Please enter me! I would love a night at the Hyatt in Dallas, TX!

  128. Karey says:

I would spend my time at the Hyatt with my husband and two daughters. We adopted our second daughter from Vietnam in June of last year. It would be a great opportunity to spend a “family anniversary” away and share some together time alone, just the four of us. We went through hell and back to finally bring our little one home, and will be celebrating our “family day” every year. We feel so blessed and lucky to have two wonderful little girls in our lives.

  129. Denise says:

This is definitely something the hubby and I could use. We have a five year old and a 21 month old and have only been away from them overnight once (for a wedding when I was 6 months pregnant with the 21 month old). Being a stay at home mom we rarely spend the money we make on us. We could use the night to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary this July!

  130. mommy-momo says:

OH MY GOSH! we sooo NEED this! Our 5 year anniversary is coming up and we need to get away sooo bad! We have a 2 year old little boy and we never get away from him hehe. I’d love to go to Palm Springs for the weekend!!! Maybe even san diego? Oh that would be nice. These kind of trips would be alot of money for us…

    What a great giveaway :)

  131. Annette says:

I’d use it with my husband to celebrate our five year wedding anniversary at the end of May.

  132. Dreamer says:

We’d go to hilton head beach next month for vacation and my son’s first trip to the ocean!

  133. Katie says:

I would spend the night with my husband right here in Kansas City at our Hyatt IMMEDIATELY! We need a night away so badly with two small kids. If I won a free night we would just HAVE to get Grandma to stay with them for the night!

  134. Mike says:

My Wife and I would stay at the Hyatt in Kansas City, I think I’d buy an extra night since we’ve never been away from the kids for more than 12 hours!

  135. arlene says:

Wow! First of all your website looks amazing!!!!! Very classy!! I like the colours. I’m not buttering up, I’m just telling it like it is :)
Well our 12th anniversary is coming up. If I could I would use it for that, Preferably!!!. If not, we’d do it together.

  136. Carol says:

We are hoping to go to Kauai at some point, and if we won, I’d use it there!!!!!!!

  137. Jacqueline in Atlanta says:

When the kids were little (preschoolers) I used to get away by myself in the first week or two of the new year and decompress, relax, reflect, plan for the new year, seek God’s face and just not have to be mommy for about 24 hours. I had a friend in the hotel biz who got me a really good rate back then. I have not done that for years. I would love a day to myself.

    Thanks for having the giveaway!

  138. Amber says:

My mate and my budgets are really tight. Whenever we go somewhere, we’re always staying at the Budget Inn or Motel 6. It’d be lovely to spend a weekend at the Hyatt – what luxury!

  139. Lindley says:

I’d take my family on a little day getaway this summer somewhere in Colorado- my son loves hotels! Thanks so much!

  140. Sara Loud says:

I would use my free night to treat my husband to a romantic night away from home!

  141. ukrainiac says:

I would use my night in Kyiv, Ukraine. Every once in a while it would just be WONDERFUL to get away from the busyness of ministry…just me and my husband. Just a short metro ride and a walk and we’d be there!!

  142. I’m taking your recommendation for the Nashville location. It’s not too close and not too far from me, and such a fun place to visit. I would go there with my hubby and use the Country Music Hall of Fame passes we’ve had for the past year, and visit my cousin who lives there. Oh, and I’d probably hit Opry Mills. :-)

  143. brooke says:

i would love to win!!! I would for sure use it for my hubby and myself to get away without kiddos. it is so nice to just be together without distraction.

  144. Nancy says:

My husband and I just married off all 3 of our children (in a year and a half’s time) and quite frankly, we need a little honeymoon ourselves! I think I’d choose Savannah, GA. What a romantic place!

  145. Kanoe says:

    I’d go to this Hyatt:
Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa
    1571 Poipu Road,
    Koloa, Hawaii, USA.
With my husband on our anniversary because we never had a honey moon and after 8 years of marriage have never been alone to vacation. I chose this resort because it has a great golf course and my hunny is an avid golfer.

  146. Raquel says:

i would probably use it to take my hubby on a weekend etaway preferable Vegas i love it there! and sometime before this baby comes

  147. angela says:

I would LOVE to win this. I would use it in PA….where my baby girl is!!!!!!!!

  148. ChristieC says:

  149. Angie says:

My husband & I have only had 1 night alone since our first child was born nearly 5 years ago. And we had to leave town to even get that 1 night!

So, I would take my husband back to Atlanta for another night away from our great kids so we can re-charge our batteries. Thanks!

  150. I would use it when we go to the Survivor Finale in NYC in a couple of weeks! I really don’t want to drive back that night but I don’t see any other way. We would love a night at the Hyatt!!

  151. Rachel says:

We’re hoping to go to Florida in the fall. A free night at the Hyatt would certainly tip the scale in the right direction!!

  152. Roxy says:

I would probably use mine to treat myself to a solo getaway. As for where, I guess that depends on where I decide to go. For now, I’m trying to explore America.

  153. Alicia Gantz says:

It would be sooooo wonderful to take a little family trip this summer! Maybe somewhere by the ocean, Myrtle beach or maybe Texas. I’ve never been to either. Thanks, so much!

  154. melissa says:

My husband and I would pick one close to have a getaway from the kids.

  155. Susan says:

We would spend a night at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort outside of Austin, TX. With a lazy river and a swim up bar it sounds like a water park with something for everyone!

  156. Tami says:

I would spend it on the east coast of Florida with my husband ~ we haven’t had a just us overnight in a while and really would love it :)

  157. TidyMom says:

Our 23rd anniversary is in June so I would use it for that! Don’t know where – but we could certainly find some where!!

    What fun!!

    ~TidyMom

  158. Kimberly says:

After the last two weeks, I would go away BY MYSELF and curl up with a good book. Maybe scrapbook. Maybe not. After that I would invite each child one by one to have a sleep over with me for some one on one time! bestmom4girls(at)yahoodotcom

  159. sarah says:

I would use MY free night for our 5 year wedding anniversary at the end of the month. We have not had a night away since our daughter was born 14 months ago. Come to think of it – we were supposed to go on a babymoon before she was born but never ended up going. So it is a long time coming. :) I SOOO hope I am randomly drawn!

Gentle Breezes!

  165. cara says:

Ohhh, I don’t know where we would use it… prob. in Dallas where the grandmother could keep the kids…

  166. This would be such a great surprise for hubby’s birthday next month! We haven’t been away together (without the kids) since my first was born.

    Pick me! Pick me!

I would love for you to pick this for my daughter Sarah, who just came back from Iraq. She got Junior Sailor of the Year, but has made so many sacrifices. She has a beautiful 4 year old daughter, her husband was not so supportive and has a major problem, they might lose their home, so I guess she could live there if she won it for a year. Thanks so much, her very proud mom
