You Know You’re A Blogger When…

You take pictures of your new washer and dryer before you do your first load of wash.  On second thought, you know you’re a blogger when you take pictures of your new washer and dryer.  Period.  :-)

But I AM a blogger, and in addition to that, I am an appliance freak, and I have walked through Lowe’s SO many times and looked longingly at those swank front loaders and waited patiently for my old set to die, so it just stands to reason that before I threw a load of laundry in my new washer, I took these:

The pedestals come on Monday. Yes, if you are detail oriented, you will remember that I said I ordered a Whirlpool set and that I did not get pedestals. That is until I saw that Lowes was offering Samsung pedestals for free with the purchase of a set. Now THAT is a deal I could not pass up.  And also, both people I worked with at Lowe’s were wonderful.  When I placed my phone order, the salesman on the phone over-rode their standard delivery and arranged to have mine here the very next day.  The deliverymen were prompt, professional and friendly.  I would definitely shop Lowe’s again.

You can also see my fresh paint in these photos.  I hope to go shopping next week for a colorful rug, and I am anxious to get some kid art to hang on the walls.  I’ll take pictures of the final room when it’s all done, but that will likely be a few weeks at best.

I read on a blog this week where someone framed a cute child’s sock that had lost it’s mate. I think that is an adorable idea for laundry room art! BTW I love your bold choice of color.

  8. Well, yes, photos of the new washer and dryer would be a definite must in any blogger’s mind. I love that. DH always makes fun of me what I take pictures of my books or our food. All in the name of the blog …

Enjoy the washer and dryer and the new paint. Love the bold color!

  9. windy says:

I posted mine, too! I have the same ones, except we stacked them. Now I have all that space with shelves that were soooo needed.
Love the paint color, I think all the walls would look good that color:)

  11. Lynn says:

I have laundry room envy! Painting that wall orange was a great idea!! Last spring I was able to buy new front loaders and I love them, I would love them more if someone other than me would operate them, but I am lazy like that! :)

  12. Shell says:

So exciting! Thanks for sharing those pics!

  13. AH! I am crazy jealous!

    Steph

  14. Now don’t you just have to smile when you see that pop of color?!

Can’t wait to see the finished product…

And PS. You’re going to love the front-loaders!

  15. Love that orange! Beautiful-looks great with the green, by the way!

I love that idea that Donna S saw. It reminds me of something my mother did. When my son was 18 months or so, we let her watch him. When we got back, she was letting him walk all in the mud with his white socks on. I was horrified, he was in heaven, and my mother (being a grandmother) cared way more about his feelings than mine. She washed them, but of course the mud stain never came out. Little did I know she saved them, and ended up displaying them in a shadow box. Its similar to the link below, but only has 1 clip (and here is white). She treasures it as this amazing memory. http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/191-0061182-0487731?asin=B000BCC1FE&afid=yahoossplp&lnm=B000BCC1FE|Shadow_Box_Frame_with_Photo_Clips&ref=tgt_adv_XSMG1060

But you know I’m all for the artwork!

  16. Look at you! Next time I need to pick out a new paint color, I’m consulting with you! Your laundry room looks great, and it isn’t even done yet.

  17. Here 99% or all washers and driers are front loading. I can’t quite visulise the pedestals either, as we don’t have them.

They look so lovely and clean and shiny – hopefully the clothes they was will be too (without the shiny!).

Great colour – and not TOO orange, so maybe I won’t be sending you an irish tricolour after all!

  18. Nikki says:

Love the new laundry room. You mentioned that you are looking for artwork. My mom framed several of my sister’s paintings/drawings in plain black frames in her laundry room. Frames are cheap at IKEA and it’s easy to swap out paintings as new ones come home. My sister loved it and it was easy and inexpensive for my mom. (My sister is 19 years younger than I am so I was not bringing home artwork anymore or I’m sure my mom would have hung mine as well!)

  19. beautiful — yes I called them beautiful :) I covet your front loaders…

  20. Robyn says:

  30. Susanne says:

You got the Samsung’s?! With pedestals? Oooo, I shall not covet my fellow blogger’s laundry set, I shall not covet my fellow blogger’s laundry set. Are they the ones that premeasure your detergents according to the load you choose?

I love the colors your chose for your walls. Your laundry room is a happy place! :v)

  31. Jenn Calling Home says:

Sweeeet! And very space age looking, I might add. I read somewhere that you can get a tax break for buying new major appliances, and I thought I remember it was like $500?! (Wish I remember where I saw that.) Anyway, congrats! Maybe someday I’ll get a set, too. Mine are 14 years.

  32. Mama Bub says:

I never thought I could experience so much envy over a pair of appliances, yet here I am.

Oooh, I’m drooling! (And plotting an evil plan to come and sneak those out of your house in the middle of the night) Of course that will require attaining super-human strength first. Details!
