I certainly can’t claim this idea as my own. I don’t believe I’ve ever had an original idea in my life. This one I stole borrowed from my neighbor Kim. I’m far too lazy to put the dish soap away (in the cabinet under the sink) after every use so I always ended up with a big bottle of Dawn sitting on the side of my kitchen sink, usually with blue soap dripping down the side. So not pretty. And also, as the soap gets used up, and the plastic bottle becomes lighter as a result, it seems as if it’s always falling into my sink. Very irritating.
SO! When I saw that Kim had bought herself a pretty glass bottle, the kind you typically fill with olive oil, to put her dish soap in, I knew I had to get one. I even found one with images of oranges and lemons on it — the perfect home for my Sun & Earth dish soap, which is made of orange oil, among other natural ingredients. It also has a delightful citrus scent.
Speaking of Sun & Earth dish soap, I really like how it smells and how it feels on my skin. And it cleans my dishes just fine. It doesn’t have the sudsing capabilities of my old standby Dawn, but I like the company and the natural chemical-free ingredients so much that I’ve happily made the switch.
Obligatory Disclaimer: I am one of the Sun & Earth Sunny Seven, but my endorsement of the Sun & Earth dish soap in this post was entirely spontaneous based on my Works for Me Wednesday tip. My only compensation for being a Sunny Seven is free product to try. You may or may not find this product to work well for you. I can only tell you my experience with my dishes and my hard water and my cooking and cleaning habits. If you do purchase this product and find it does not work for you, I cannot be held liable. This disclaimer is not intended to insult your intelligence. It is written solely to keep the FTC police happy. Can I get a collective eye roll? Thanks and amen.
And oh hey! This is entirely a coincidence. I just realized it’s the 7th of the month, which means it’s time to post another Sun & Earth giveaway on Reviewsings. If you’re interested in trying Sun & Earth products, I’ll have the giveaway post up later in the day click here!

Just be careful with the glass soap dispenser – when your hands are soapy and slippery and you are holding it – it can easily slip out and break. (Speaking from one that has had the experience) -
OMG! I’m SOOOO stealing this one too! LOL THANKS!!
….my WFMW post is someone’s elses idea that I’m using too! LOL

Okay, I’m not sure what’s wrong with me, but I tried one of those bottles and it didn’t work! I ended up switching to a clear soap hand pump and that works perfectly! Though, yours looks so much nicer.
i use foamy soap, so i can’t use a pretty bottle
do we seriously have to write that big of a disclaimer? good heavens, that will get annoying.
LOL, Melissa, part of it was tongue-in-cheek, but on the other hand, you can’t be too sure. They mainly want you to disclose when you get paid for a review or get a product for free. But I heard by word of mouth that you can get sued if you claim a product works and it does not, which is where I kind of went off with not being responsible. I kind of figure I’m small potatoes and they’re not worried about me, but hey. You never know.
I have one of these for my dish soap. It has two small metal balls in it, not sure if this helps with something or not…..but there is my 2cents worth….
Ok, this is the second time in at least 3 weeks that I’ve seen that done…it MUST mean something, LOL. I love that idea too, so I’m gonna “borrow” it from you.
I just have to tell you how much I love your disclaimer:)
Okay, so I hate to rain on your parade, however, you will still find that you pull out the easy squeeze big bottle when you get irritated by trying to get enough soap on to your greasy pots and pans and in shaking your glass bottle it slips and the dispenser top breaks off and you glue it back on, but its still not perfect, so you leave it decoratively placed on your counter top like its supposed to be. Next to the industrial size bottle of gooey necked Dawn that you bought to fill up your cute decanter. That’s all I’m sayin’
I am stealing your/your neighbors idea! I do the same thing and I hate it. So excited I’m doing this today and even may blog about it because I am so excited!!!
Ha, I just bought one for my olive oil and vinegar. Now it looks like I might just get one for my soap. Now hopefully there are no mix-ups between the numerous bottles…
I have 3 kids too!
This is a super idea and looks so pretty. I’m with you…all my ideas or stolen and borrowed. lol
I had a concern and Dawn (#9) addressed it. I am soooooo clumsy I just know that somehow that bottle would fly out of my hand and shatter on the floor and I will spend 2 years trying to clean up all that soap.
But, I must say it does look tres chic compared to the plastic gunky Seventh Generation dish soap bottle that I have sitting on the counter.
I just found your blog, and it’s wonderful!
I just started my blog and I would absolutely love it if you would stop by!
