We tend to have lots of ice in our part of the country and the last time we were without power for more than 24 hour, I was heating water in metal pans with candles so that I could "brew" coffee. It tasted worse than it sounds and I know have a propane stove that I can use outside to make coffee in a old wood stove percolator! From one coffee addict to another, keep an extra bag hidden. You will never regret it. Oh, I have so been there.
