Opening the mail each day in December is truly one of my favorite things this time of year. I have noticed that we are receiving less cards this year and I do not enjoy that trend. I also don't think an e-mail with a picture is nearly the same thing as a card, but I understand why some are making that choice. I would much prefer a card.

I love Christmas cards and most letters too (except the braggy ones- but I think I might like those too because they make for interesting conversations with my mom and sister-in-law). Appreciate you sharing.

Thanks so much for posting that article, Jo-Lynne. I also wonder why there is not more jarred tomatoes. Pasta sauce almost exclusively comes in jars.
I'm pretty good on this list now that we just ordered our first 1/4 side of grass-fed beef!
The potatoes and apples are something we do not always buy organic, though. I try but they can get expensive. We eat a lot of apples so this kind of worries me. The potatoes we don't eat too many of and I will buy organic if they are comparable. I have heard this about root vegetables though.
good info!

ugh. That is the stuff that is in non-stick cookware, I’m pretty sure. I posted to my facebook & will be referring my family & friends to it - they already think I'm a little "crazy" with my opinions on food. (You know the "full-fat dairy, organic is best, and "whole" foods (not the store) is the best way to eat" opinions!) BUT, I'm happy to say that we are just now battling our 1st colds of the season, I'm 31 weeks preggo & have yet to gain 15lbs (which is healthy for me!) & I am super confident that what I am feeding my family is what is best for them today, tomorrow, and far into the future! Thanks again!

THANK YOU so much for sharing this article. As of right now that and canned beans are all I have that is store bought cans.I plan on doing the home canning of all tomato products this summer though. This just gives me more motivation to do it. Thanks!!

I knew there was a reason I want to grow my own tomatoes this year. Other than the tomatoes (I usually used Trader Joe's glass jar sauce) and the grass fed beef (which is ALMOST impossible to get up here in Boston) I feel good about the rest of the list - for we made a lot of those changes already.

I am glad you posted this!
