American Idol Recap

Well.  Sometimes technology is a witch.  MomTV didn’t work out for me, but I was able to watch the show.  Sarah is so cute.  Really, you should check it out.  She’s on every week at 1PM.

idol-talk1But now for some Idol Talk!

I finally got around to watching the Atlanta auditions, and I have four words for you.  Pants.On.The.Ground.  OMYWORD.  HIGH-larious.  I know, that’s so last week, but it still cracks me up.

So.  Without further ado, here are the standouts from the last two three shows.

Atlanta Auditions:

Jermaine Sellers, despite my dislike for the song, What If God Was One Of Us, both for its content and for massacring the king’s English, stole my heart with his voice and yes, his background story.  What a sweet guy.

Vanessa Wolfe has a lot to overcome if she’s going to make it through Hollywood week, but I’m anxious to see what she can do when she sings a song with more than three notes.

Mallory Haley sang one of my favorites, Take A Little Piece of My Heart.

Larry singing Pants on the Ground.  And there is something not quite right about putting that in italics.  I’m so sad he’s not going to Hollywood.

Chicago Auditions:

The Chicago auditions didn’t blow me away, but I remember Angela from previous seasons, and I’m rooting for her this year.  Perhaps the third time’s a charm?

Orlando Auditions:

Jermaine Purifoy with Smile.

But if I don’t hear another “two bazillion percent yes” for the rest of my life, it will be too soon.  GET A NEW LINE!

The Jersey sisters were annoying but oddly likable.  I agree with Simon, I think the blond in blue might have potential.

Matt Lawrence singing Trouble.  I’m expecting great things out of him.  I hope he’s not just a one-hit-wonder.

And that’s a wrap.  Who are you rooting for so far?

You cracked me up with your “that cracks me up” comment about the Pants on the Ground song!

  3. Pants On the Ground… Oh my lanta!! I didn’t know why it was trending or why it was being talked about at the grocery store. I finally caught a clip a few days ago and WOW! Who knew it would get so big? With such a big start, how will Idol top it?

Something tells me, it won’t be a problem.

Matt Lawrence- 2 Billion Percent ;)

Yes, I agree that the Chicago auditions were pretty ‘blah.’ Loved “Pants on the Ground.” It totally makes sense – people (I guess men in general) do look like fools with their pants on the ground. So far I’ve liked most of the contestants they’ve sent through but haven’t been totally blown away. (But then again I’m 37 weeks preggo with baby #3 so I’m probably just not remembering! Ha!) My husband accuses me of being a “music snob” so I guess I’m waiting for all the “real talent” they are holding onto for Hollywood Week and later in the show.
