links-and-shout-outs2Fashion For the In-Between – Chic Critique.  Moriah writes a great post on what to wear in those awkward months after having a baby (or those awkward months after the holidays) when your regular clothes don’t fit so well (or at all.)

Michael Pollan On The Daily Show — Food Renegade.  This post includes a 5-minute video segment of Michael Pollan interviewed by Jon Stewart on The Daily Show.  It’s worth a watch.  I love how the information is presented with plenty of humor thrown in there.

The Vegetarian  Myth — Fat Head.  This book is on my Must Read list now.

Chores and Raising Responsible Kids — MOAH Savvy Source Community.  I’d love your input on how you handle chores.  I’m thinking it’s high time we implement some sort of chore chart around here.

How To Get Ready for Blissdom, Part I — Giving Up On Perfect.  I know I did a few posts on this topic this week, and I have one more in the works, but Mary brings the perspective of one new to the conference scene.  She has some great advice in there.

Miami — The Kids Are Alright.  Just stop whatever you are doing, and savor this post.

Hi Jo-Lynne,

Regarding family chores, for Christmas my friend got me a weekly chore list from kikki-k (do you have that in the US?) It is a very cute note-pad, complete with star stickers to reward your children when jobs are completed. What I love about it is that there is at least one page for each week of the year, so the chores can change around each week and you can still have a visual reminder. I haven’t started using it yet (I feel like it is too cool to “waste” it and my kids are still young), but you might find it helpful. You can get it online but I couldn’t figure out how to post the link here.

Seems like we’re reading a lot of the same books! The Vegetarian Myth is on my list too!

Hey Jo-Lynne,
I saw you last year at Blissdom (you seemed so nice) and didn’t introduce myself. This year I hope to meet you. I wrote a post last week about it too and loved Mary’s. I can’t believe it’s just 3 weeks away.
see you soon,
edie
