I know, it’s a far cry from the spring fashions we were dreaming of last week. But this week we find ourselves in the midst of a “snowcaine” here in PA — that is snow with high winds like a hurricane, in case you are living under a rock (or in an area of the country that is not subjected to such ludicrous meteorological conditions.) So I give you my favorite Snow Days Winter Fashions.
1. My old standby – Aeropostale sweatpants, which are now on sale for $19.99.
** My humblest apologies to those of you who are tall. I told you these are extra long, but they have changed their sizing from last year to this. That, or I grew six inches in a year. But the ones I bought this year are substantially shorter than the ones I bought last year. Although I notice that now they offer extended lengths, which leads me to believe that I’m not the only one who noticed this discrepancy.
2. Those are for the days when I actually manage to get out of these, my favorite pajamas from Old Navy.
(Mine are flannel, but since the retail outlets clearly have spring fever, this is all I can find.)
3. Either way, I am probably wearing one of these on top:
Except I have probably have three-day hair and no makeup on, unless it’s left over from the day before.
4. And because I live in the frozen tundra of Pennsylvania and we keep our heat no higher than 66, I wear one of these.
Although, how cute is this? The sweater hoodie at least gives the impression that you tried to look presentable.
Note to self: must invest.
5. And because it’s cold, I wear these:
And yes, I’ve worn them to the grocery store. And to pick up my daughter from preschool. And, um, gymnastics on Saturday mornings. I have no shame.
So yeah, that’s pretty much the extent of my fashion these days. What about you?
And for a REAL Fashion Friday post, be sure to visit Big Mama where she’s talking about spring trends. And mullets. Yeah, you really need to check it out. TGIF!

yup that matches my winter wardrobe pretty closely. Mine is tank top, long cardigan, leggings and Uggs.
p.s. where is all the snow they were talking about?!
Subtract the Aeropostale and swap Ohio for Pennsylvania and you’re in my house. Ahhh the joys of being a stay at home mom on cold winter days.
Ha !
That was just like someone describing me ! Except the slippers ….. I have a pair of very very very old loafers which slip on and have paint stains all over the suede and a thick sole that is becoming detatched from the upper ! Oh and holes on some of the edges ! My daughter absolutely hates them, but they are just soooo easy to slip on in a rush and sooooo comfy when you drive to school in pj’s !!
Note to me : must invest in a new hoodie and those slippers !
Hugs Julie
Now these are outfits that I can TOTALLY relate to!! Love ‘em!!
On my days in, I wear yoga pants, a tshirt, slippers like yours, and a hoodie which goes on and off depending on where I am in my hot flash stage. I live right across the river in NJ and although it has been a rough winter, the weather hasn’t bothered me because of the flashes. And yes, I have worn my slippers to quite a few places. They are so comfortable that I forget that I have them on.
Enjoy your snow day!
Love the sweater hoodie. In Texas, we are in that horrible time of the year where it could be 40 or it could be 70….and yet it’s not officially spring. My daughter will come out dressed for church with a cute spring cami (had to buy some because they were so cute!) paired with a sweater and boots. UGH.
You are so right about the Aero sweats! I bought red ones last year that were longish, but okay after I washed and dried them. This year, I bought cute pink ones, and they are actually TOO short on me. (I’m 5’1″ for heavens sake!)
yoga pants and my sherpa hoodie from gap. and big fluffy socks.
my fashion friday is opposite – spring dresses – since i’m clearly in denial about the snow!

Didn’t it feel good to write a comfort-zone Fashion Friday post? And I LOVE that sweater hoodie. Waiting for sale, though.
I LOVE my flannel Old Navy pj pants. Soooo cozy and a perfect fit.
Looks like great snowicane fashion. Hope the snow ends for you guys soon. This one pretty much missed us.
I’m so glad you recommended Aeropostale to me several months ago. They are so cozy…and much more flattering than other sweatsuit alternatives. They’re not exactly fashionable, I know – but – they’re not hideous either.
