Random Reader Questions Vol. 2

Stephanie had a list of questions about Blissdom.

1. Who did you spend the most time with at the conference?

I really didn’t hang with any one person or group.  In fact, this is what I loved most about Blissdom this year.  I felt like I really got to spend time with a lot of people.  I never sat at a table or ate a meal with the same group twice.  It helps that I know a lot of people, and I can pretty much walk into a room at any given time and find people I feel comfortable with.  Of course, there are still people I didn’t see enough of.  Which leads me to your question #2.

2. Who do you wish you could have spent more time with?

Oh so many!  There is NEVER enough time.  I kept trying to get together with Steph but it never really worked out.

3. How does Blissdom compare to other conferences/events you have attended?

I’ve only ever been to one other conference, and it’s not really a blogging conference; it’s a writing and speaking conference with a blogging track.  So I can’t really compare.  Blissdom was by far and away, from a blogger’s POV, the better conference.  But I enjoyed both for different reasons.

I’ve heard great things about Mom 2.0, but I have to pick and choose, and it was just too close to Blissdom.  I plan to go to BlogHer this year because it’s in NYC and that’s so convenient for me.

4. If you could improve the conference next year, what would you do?

The only improvement I can think of is to have some different speakers.  I feel that I heard a lot of the same people that I heard last year, and I heard this sentiment expressed by a few others.  But the speakers were fabulous, and I don’t want to take away from them in the least.  The location and the sponsors and the sessions were all excellent.  I just wanted to wrap it up and take it home with me!

  1. I have a question but not about Blissdom… did you design your twitter and e-mail button? They are fab! =)

  2. Kim says:

Thanks for sharing. Any recommendations for casual bloggers on what conference to attend to get ideas or see if they want to take it to the next level?

    • Jo-Lynne says:

Kim, I’d say this one is a great one. It is nice because there’s something for everyone. Also, Relevant10 looks good for Christian bloggers who are more interested in the community than the professional side of things.

  3. One part of me would REALLY love to go to Blissdom, the other part of me worries I wouldn’t fit in with all the bloggy rock stars since I’m such a teeny tiny blog blogger.

    • Jo-Lynne says:

Holly, I think you’d be pleasantly surprised. That’s the nice thing about Blissdom, it’s not all big time bloggers.

  4. Stephanie says:

Thanks for answering my questions, Jo-Lynne!

Maybe…just maybe…I’ll be able to make it to Blissdom next year too. I would love to meet you.
