Crystal Bowersox is one of my favorites from this season already, and this song is right up my alley. I love this arrangement, and I love her. I’m sorry, but you do NOT hear that in a subway every day. The judges better be nice to her tonight. And they are. THANK YOU.
Haeley Vaughn takes the stage in her handmade headband to sing The Climb. Thanks to the two little girls living in my house, I know this song by heart, so I’m interested to see if she can make it her own. You can hear her nerves on some of the notes, but girl is only 16 so I can cut her a break. Okay I take it back. It’s falling apart. But I like her. She’s adorable. And kudos to her for picking an age appropriate song. I just don’t think it was good enough. What do you want to bet one of the judges plays the karaoke card?
Lacey Brown is stinkin’ adorable and this song was SO much better for her than the one she sang last week. Randy pulled out the karaoke card one contestant too late. Although I’m thinking that if the judges made a song suggestion to me, I wouldn’t sing that exact song the very next week, but rather try to find something similar. Someone should tell her that.
Katie Stevens shed about 30 years with this song choice, and she sang it well, but I can’t help but feel like it’s still too old. I share the judges’ frustration. She could be SO GOOD but she really doesn’t know who she is yet. But you know what? When I was 17, I didn’t know who I was either. Heck, I’m not sure I know who I am NOW. I guess that’s what separates the artists from the chicks who like to sing.
Didi Benami is singing Lean On Me which is one of those songs that you can really make your own, but I don’t think she did that. Awwww… I feel bad for her. She’s trying not to cry.
I love Creed but I’m not sure that I’m going to like Michelle Delamor singing them. Oh gosh, this is not going well. I appreciate that she’s trying to make it her own but, no. Just no.

Now, Lilly Scott is a girl who knows who she is. She has such an awesome, unique sound. I loved this. Nuff said.
Girls Night is looking up. Katelyn Epperly nails it with a song from Coldplay. I think this style suited her. I’m surprised the judges aren’t crazy about it. Whatev.
Paige Miles is singing a Kelly Clarkson song. I wasn’t sure about this at first, but she pulled me in about halfway through and kept me hanging on till the end. Not bad.
Siobhan Magnus is taking on Aretha, oh my word. I get so tired of contestants trying to sing Aretha and Whitney but this girl can sing the tax code and I’d want to listen to it. She’s quirky and fun and I hope we get to see a lot more of her.
Well that’s a wrap. I still say Crystal stole the show, and I’m thinking Haeley and Didi might be in danger. What do you say?
I’m with ya! Bye bye to Haeley for sure…probably Didi too. Though I really wasn’t a fan of Michelle’s tonight, either. Loved Crystal. What’s not to love? And I loved Siobhan. So much personality! The top contestants are definitely beginning to separate themselves from the others. Gonna be an interesting night tomorrow night!

I agree too. I REALLY don’t like Haeley and think it’s her time to go. I do though like Didi and didn’t think she really was as awful as the judges thought she was and I hope she stays.
I am agreed with you on every one….I do not understand why the judges thought Michelle’s rendition of Creed was so good. It was awful.

Loved Lilli. Hayley might be the one going home and I hate to say it but I’m thinking Katie might be joining her. I thought the judges were way hard on Didi. Are they hearing it different in the studio? I thought that Michelle was worse tonight. Katelyn almost put me to sleep, again are they hearing something different in the live studio? And I absolutely hated how Simon kept comparing everyone to Crystal. How is that constructive criticism? So far this year I’m underwhelmed.
I actually found myself comparing everyone to Crystal too, but I don’t think it helped matters for him to say it out loud. And I kind of enjoyed Didi too, I just don’t think it did anything to establish her style as an artist. But then the Aretha thing could be considered the same way.

I disagreed with the judges (and maybe with you??). I did like Crystal, definitely, but I thought that Katie had a great performance, and I LOVED Michelle’s take on the Creed song. I agree that Paige did a great job at the end as well.
I’m not a fan of Siobhan at all, and I’m surprised the judges liked it. They seem inconsistent to me.
I do agree that Haely and Didi are definitely at risk. Maybe Lacey as well. I think she did much better than last week, but I don’t think she’ll be in for long.
I was conflicted on Siobhan. I like HER but I don’t know for sure if I liked her singing that song. And I actually kind of liked Didi on Lean On Me but I prefer her singing more laid back, cool, modern songs. I dunno. I think she needs to “find herself.”
