Links and Shout Outs

links-and-shout-outs2File this in the SCARY category.  This is wrong on SO many levels.

My friend Girlymama and two of her kids were on a segment of the Better Philly morning show today.  Check it out, and get some great baby shower ideas while you’re at it.  That iPhone holder is brilliant.

You could win a $50 gift card to Sephora at Mommy’s Still Fabulous.

And let me add a quick AMEN to Jill’s post today.  I’m working on a series of posts on raising responsible kids, so this post hit home with me.  I am by no means an expert, but I see a huge lack of blogs on this topic so I thought I’d share what I’m learning.  Stay tuned…

You’re right, that would be just too weird to see Ad’s on the school bus!(?)

Went and read Diaper Diarie’s post and it was just what I needed to hear after the morning I had with my own daughter. Thanks!

I enjoyed some of your links. Not sure what to think about the ads on buses. I guess you are right- scary! I enjoyed Jill’s post. I was great.

I enjoyed reading the post about being the popular parent. I took my response a step further and would challenge you mom bloggers to write about moms who make such a huge effort to make their kids popular AND who push their kids to be in that group.

“This proverbial rubber will meet the road when your kids, especially any daughters, get to around 4th and 5th grade and you realize there IS a contingency of kids at the school who are all cliqued up. Their moms buy them a certain brand of clothes, rent out buses and limos for big group parties for their kids………and the list goes on.

You realize you will have to firmly instill in your kids that it is OK to not to TRY and be popular and to desperately seek to be in “that” group.”

    Totally Off Topic…
did you catch the Jaimie Oliver Food Revolution on Sunday? Talk about problems with school lunch! I DVR’d it and watched it with my girls last night – they were actually excited for the kids in that school and could not understand why they would turn away from the healthy food choices.
If you missed it you can watch it on ABC online. The actual series starts on Friday I believe.
