What I Learned This Week

in It's All About Me Me Meme!,Silliness,What I Learned This Week

what-i-learned-this-weekI am an ESFP.  At least I am tonight.  If I take another Jung personality test (hat tip to my good friend Melanie, who REALLY needs to update her blog), I am likely to be something else because I am wishy washy like that.  And evidently I can be rather wordy, which should come as a surprise to no one.  And it can take me a while to get to the point.  Really?  You aren’t shocked?

I thought this description fit me to a T so I had to post it.

“Where’s the party?” ESFPs love people, excitement, telling stories and having fun. The spontaneous, impulsive nature of this type is almost always entertaining. And ESFPs love to entertain — on stage, at work, and/or at home. Social gatherings are an energy boost to these “people” people.

SPs sometimes think and talk in more of a spider-web approach. Several of my ESFP friends jump from thought to thought in mid-sentence, touching here or there in a manner that’s almost incoherent to the listener, but will eventually cover the waterfront by skipping on impulse from one piece of information to another. It’s really quite fascinating.

New! ESFPs are attracted to new ideas, new fashions, new gadgets, new ______. Perhaps it’s the newness of life that attracts ESFPs to elementary education, especially to preschool and kindergarten.

ESFPs love to talk to people about people. Some of the most colorful storytellers are ESFPs. Their down-to-earth, often homespun wit reflects a mischievous benevolence.

Almost every ESFP loves to talk. Some can be identified by the twenty minute conversation required to ask or answer a simple factual question.

I mean, the storytelling thing?  SO ME.  That’s why I blog.

New fashions, new gadgets?  Oh yeah, now you’re speaking my love language.

And hello, I majored in elementary education.

Although I’m quite sure I’ve never taken 20 minutes to answer a simple factual question, PULLEEEZE.  *rolls eyes*

AND I have a river in Tibet I’ll sell ya.

What did YOU learn this week?  And while we’re at it, what’s your personality type?

Hmph, I took the test twice because I wasn’t sure about the results. I got the same answer both times: INFJ (Introverted Intuitive Feeling and Judging) – Counselor. I really thought if I took it again I would get different results. Interesting test. The more I read my results, the more I see myself in them.

I recently did a personality test when McDaddy and I attended a Marriage Seminar. I was surprised to find out that it described me perfectly. Not sure how these things work, but they do!

I was a ISFJ

They are characterized above all by their desire to serve others, their “need to be needed.”

That’s me!

I’m an INTJ … no matter how many times I take this test and no matter how badly I want to be a different “more fun” personality type, I always end up here. Had to take this test in college for placement in the College of Business and again at two job interviews later … and have now taken it as a stay-at-home/writer/mom. Guess the reality is … I’m a Rational. Guided by principle and pragmatics, preferring books to people (which is probably why online friendships are so much easier for me than in-real-life ones … I relate better to the written word), and a perfectionist.

But people like you are SO good for me.

I don’t even have to take that quiz to know that I’d be the same exact thing! LOL! Too funny my friend. I don’t think the world could handle both you and I in the same room! Hee! Hee! Though entertaining it would be.

Heh, thanks for the link to my defunct personal blog, my friend! I only blog at Blogging Basics 101 now. ;)

I’m an INTJ — which makes up about 1% of the world. It’s called the Mastermind personality and I am in the company of Jane Austen and Hannibal Lecter. So, you know, I’m varied.

Apparently I am an ISTJ. Which is interesting, considering I used to be an ENFP. I can even tell on the questionnaire which ones I would have answered differently in the past!

I am an ISFJ….

I’m one of those borderline Introverts/Extroverts, but the description fit me to a T…. I even sent it on to the boy for his opinion….

I am a big ol’ FLAMING ENFP. To the letter. ;)

I have never taken a personality test, at least not in years. I think the last one I took was so off that I never took another one. Maybe…

I am an ESFP also! Although, I border on ENFP. I literally am a point away in the sensing/intuitive part and depending on when I take it I can score either way. I love these tests, though. They make my quirky personality feel validated in some way.

I love personality tests! I’m an ENFJ. But just barely an E – I’m about half I, half E.

I love those little tests and how eerily accurate they can be.

Hey JL, I was an ESFP too! But I knew it already. I love taking those kinda tests – often times I wonder if results will be different but that’s yet to happen. Oh well, you get what you get and you don’t get upset!!

That was interesting! I’m an INTJ like Teri Lynne and Melanie N.! It really does make sense when I read it through. Since Jane Austen was also an INTJ, does that mean that I could become a great writer?! :)

I’m an ENFJ. I especially liked the part where it said I am a “slightly expressed exrovert.” That seems about right because I definitely have strong introvert tendencies as well.

I found out I was ISFP – The composer. No wonder I have been out of kilter because I have put my artistic pursuits on hold. Now that I have a bit more time, the first thing I was drawn to do was to re-discover myself and create!

Since reading this post and doing the test, I have been seeing what else they have out there about the personality types. I like this post which summerises the personality types nicely: http://www.kiwano.ca/personality-type-indicators/

If you want a good laugh, go to http://says-bomb.livejournal.com/288292.html. He puts a comical twist on the personality types. EG He said this about my personality type: While an ISFP’s personality might seem flighty and their attention span short to an outsider, ISFPs live by the motto “Life is best approach–oh, look, potato chips!”

I am an ENFJ. Have taken the test probably a dozen times over the past 15-20 years, and it always stays there. So I guess that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
