I’m tuning in late, once again. LOS-AH.
I am SO impressed with Katie’s rendition of Let It Be. She was on key, original, and current. Katie just bought herself another week with that performance.
WHY is Simon wearing an undershirt? WHY? I don’t get it.
Andrew is singing Can’t Buy Me Love, and this is one of his better performances. I’m surprised; the song is so dated, but he seems to make it current. I’m not really on Simon’s page this time.
Big Mike is up. Did he just make Eleanor Rigby an R&B song? I do believe he did. Amazing. I was snoozing towards the beginning, but he really made it work in the end. I love this guy.
Crystal manages to pick one of my favorite songs every.single.week. I LOVE Come Together. She changes it up JUST enough. This girl’s the real deal. Can we just give her the American Idol trophy and call it a day? I mean, SERIOUSLY.
Tim is up, and I’m bracing myself for the worst. You know, he sorta looks like a young Paul McCartney. (I said it before the judges did, for the record.) Unfortunately he didn’t bring anything new to the performance, so it ended up being a pretty good karaoke show and nothing more.
Casey is singing Jealous Guy. I’m not familiar with this song, but I’m downloading it to my iPod tomorrow, and I think I’ll look up this version. Casey’s in his element tonight. And I’m loving the cello accompanying him too.
What a lovely, classy, non-screechy performance by Siobhan. Loved it.
Love Hey Jude. Can’t wait for Lee’s performance. Okay, so that was fun. Lee is really coming into his own. He looked like he was having a blast from the first note to the last. And I can’t NOT mention the bag piper. Ellen…. LOL…. got separated from his parade. I’m not quite sure what to make of that, but as Lee says, “Why not?”
Indeed.
So let’s see. Best of the night? Um. Michael? Crystal? Lee? Casey? Katie? How does one pick?
Yes, I said Katie.
Bottom three… Keep in mind, I missed Aaron’s performance. I’m gonna go with Andrew, Tim, and… gosh. I’m not sure. No one was truly awful. Going home? It’s a tough call. Andrew or Tim, most likely. But it could be anyone at this point. I can’t believe I’m saying that with still 9 contestants left. This is a really strong season, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see an upset this week. You heard it here first.
What’s your take?

I think that bottom 3 could be anyone. Andrew did well, but I don’t think he has a big fan base (including me). You can’t tune in late! Aaron was pretty bad, and he wasn’t great last week either, so his time is coming.
So I think that either of them, Siobhan and also Tim are the 4 that could be bottom 3.
I LOVED Casey last night. It was just so, so good. I think he may have been my favorite of the night. I hate to side with him instead of Crystal, but he was really, really good.
It was a really good night! I loved Katie, which is has never been the case for me. But yeah there were several really great ones. I’m gonna have to go with Aaron going home. Let’s just say you missed the worst of the night. I’m sick of him, even more now than I was in the beginning.
I just have to add – yes – I’d like to just give it to Crystal right now. I would buy anything she put out there.
See…I knew Katie would hit it out of the park…and she did!
Top 3-Katie, Casey and Lee
Bottom 3-Aaron, Andrew and Siohban
Aaron goes home!
I think Tim will go. He’s the weakest link and without a killer performance this week I really think he’s in jeopardy.
I agree that it was a great night for Katie and probably just enough to take her to the Top 8.
Aaron wasn’t good and I’m rooting for him. To go home.
My husband accidently DELETED THE FIRST HOUR. Oh my gosh I had an utter and complete MELTDOWN on him, screaming that he was never allowed to touch the remote again.
Somehow, magically, he was able to get it back (we don’t have “undelete” so I’m not sure what he did) but the clouds parted and the depression lifted. Poor guy.
I think Aaron, Tim and Andrew are bottom three this week.
I wish Crystal would just WIN already, I love her.
Omigosh. That sounds like a night in our home. Howling! I’m glad you got your first hour back!
I wrote about this on my blog too (http://notjustanotherjen.com/2010/04/idol-wednesdays-sleepy-and-soulless/). Ever think about hosting a McLinky on the topic?
I’m surprised you like this season. I’m not impressed and can’t wait for the final 3. Hoping that it will be Crystal, Casey and Lee. As for this week I think that Aaron will (hopefully) be going home, Andrew and Tim to round out the Bottom 3. We’ll see.
I have thought of doing a Linky but it’s kind of Boomama’s thing, and I’ve been linking to her since she started doing it. Actually, I used to do a Linky, now that I think about it. It didn’t get many contributors.
I’m with you on the final 3. I think you nailed it. And it helps that they all sing my kinda music!
I think for, at this point in the season, they have really good contestants. I remember years when people were still painfully bad at this point. But there are still a few standouts, as you mentioned.
Thanks for the Boomama referral. I’ll check hers out. And the sad season that you speak of is probably the one that Taylor Hicks won. Yeah, I think this is the follow up for the next boring. Or maybe it’s just coming down from the Glambert high of last season.
Glad to have found a community of other mommy bloggers to talk Idol with! Thank you!
