For many in our region, the Philadelphia International Flower Show is the highlight of the year.
On Tuesday I attended a luncheon held especially for local mom bloggers to give us a sneak preview of what’s in store for the guests of the Flower Show when it opens in just 10 days.

The theme this year is Hawaii! (as if you couldn’t tell)
Everyone was presented with a colorful lei upon entrance to the meeting room.

While we nibbled on deli sandwiches and our kids colored nearby, we got an insider’s look into the Philadelphia Flower Show! They truly do have something for everyone, right down to a Man Cave, where they plan to have big screen TVs, blackjack, virtual golf competitions and other “guy-friendly” activities. All proceeds will benefit the PHS City Harvest program, which provides fresh produce for families in need.
There are plenty of activities for the family: crafts, character breakfasts, puppet shows, and even live performances – you’ll definitely want to check out the Family Lounge if you come with young kids.
Of course I’m all about the wine tastings.
I love how they made our luncheon a kid-friendly affair.

Here’s a group of all the Philly Social Media Moms who were in attendance.

Everyone got to put their business cards in a bowl for a raffle prize – the Flower Show’s signature silk scarf.

It clearly doesn’t go with the rust sweater, but it is a gorgeous scarf, and it will go perfectly with my new pink Gap sweater!
If you don’t live in these here parts, I’m sorry. You’re missing out on an incredible experience. If you ARE in the area, the flower show runs from March 4 – 11, and you can get your tickets online.
You can find them on Facebook or download their mobile app. Also, find out about the Junior Flower Show — a really cool event for school-age children that mimics the Flower Show.
Thanks to PHS and the Philadelphia International Flower Show for hosting us on Tuesday.

I’m really looking forward to the family lounge with all the Sprout characters and activities!
Looks like fun and of course you won the scarf;-)
I’d love to go to the Flower Show this year!
I have always wanted to go and never make the time- I think this year we will be sure to attend!
I would love to go to the Flower Show this year…haven’t been in at least 6 years. The vendors are the best! Thanks!
I have gone to the flower show the past 2 years. It is a great event, a fun day. I am planning on going again this year. I would love tickets!
I was born & raised here in PA & never attended the flower show…I have always wanted to go! I would love to go & get some ideas for a new flower bed we want to do this spring;)
I have always wanted to go to the Flower Show and have yet to make it…maybe this year. I love that scarf too. It is so pretty!
I LOVE going to the Flower show! Last year was my favorite because it was all about Paris.
I am sure that this year is going to be beautiful with all the Tropical Flowers.
Normally me and my Mom always go as a Girls day out.
Looking forward to this year!!
Even though we used to live there and even have a friend whose landscape company enters every year, we’ve never been because of work commitments. BUT, this year we will be in the area since our daughter has an appointment at duPont that Friday, we would love to go after our appointment!
my wife would love to go thanks nice job
I would so love to go to the flower show. We are only an hour away from Philly, and I have never been there. I would love to be able to go and take some pictures!
I’ve never been before but it sounds like fun. I’ll have to ask hubby if he’s interested and see when we both have the same day off while it’s going on!
That looks wonderful and fun!
I went many moons ago, w/ my now 2nd grader tucked in a bjorn. It’s been too long! I would love the chance to go again. While it’s been a mild winter, the lushness of Hawaii would be the perfect intro to Spring!
I love the flower show. My usual is to wear comfy shoes, head out on the train and take tons of notes and pictures. I usually dream big about my garden, but normal reality usually has small bits and pieces represented. Like I absolutely love how they incorporate herbs in most of their presentation. But this year is different, I am determined to implement more
. Oh and I will be checking out the subaru booth Saw your tweet
Would love those tickets! Thanks Jo-Lynne.
On a side note, totally bummed I miss the event due to this stinkin’ head cold.
I am looking forward to the water fall with orchids, the volcano, Hawaii Vendors, and everything else.
I’d love to go! We’ve never been – not for lack of wanting. What a great “date” it would be for hubby and me!
I’d go! I just would love it more if this were closer. Sounds like so much fun. I love how they include children in the fun.

Love the Flower Show! We try to go every year, kind of a day date for the hubs and I.
I’ve lived in Philly for 15 years and went to a few shows when I first moved here.
My 4-year-old son keeps asking to go and it’s fun to watch him explore this city the way I did a long time ago.
Best part? Maybe meeting you? I haven’t been since my 7th grader was in a stroller and I bought three huge paintings and had to balance them on the stroller with her in it to get them home!
