A few weeks ago, I gave you the opportunity to ask me anything. This week I’m answering all your burning questions.
Jan Mary is giving me a full interrogation!
Do you have a daily routine?
What was your dream job as a child?
What is your earliest memory?
When are you coming to visit me in Ireland?!!!
What has been your most embarrassing moment? (you don’t have to answer that one!) (or any of them!!!)
Well, let’s start from the beginning.
Do you have a daily routine?
HA! No, I do not have a daily routine. I am probably the least structured person you’ll ever meet. I suppose I have fallen into a routine of sorts because of having kids with a school schedule, but I pretty much fly by the seat of my pants.
The one thing I do routinely is get up before the rest of the house so I can get some me-time before anyone else is awake. I get my coffee and go right to the computer. Summertime has been a complete free-for-all. Every week is different depending on camp schedules and vacations and the like.
During the school year, things are a bit more orderly. I get up, grab coffee, sit down at the computer and catch up on emails that came thru after I went to bed. Sometimes I run. I get the kids off to school and then I have the day to myself (or at least I will this year — for the first time I will have all three kids in school full day.) It does make my heart ache just a bit to know that I will no longer have a small companion at home with me, but I am also looking forward to having a more dependable work schedule.
Afternoons and evenings are packed with homework, sports practices, meetings and dinner. I like to read or watch a TV show and then hit the hay by 10PM. Oftentimes I’m in bed well before that. What can I say, I’m a grannie.
What was your dream job as a child?
As a child, my dream job was to be a teacher. I played school throughout my childhood and then I became a 3rd grade teacher! I loved it.
What is your earliest memory?
Hmmm, I’m not sure. Perhaps being at the beach with my grandparents? Or the long car rides to Maine and arriving at my gramma’s house to the scent of Bounce dryer sheets (her washer and dryer were located in the mud room where we entered her house.) I also have vague memories of the apartment where we lived when I was four. I recall the Christmas morning that I received a huge Raggedy Ann doll that was hand made for me by my aunt. That may be my earliest memory.
When are you coming to visit me in Ireland?!!!
Girl, visiting you in Ireland is definitely in the Top Ten on my bucket list!! I would LOVE that. I have never been to Europe, and if I ever get there, I want to visit people I know so I can see what life is really like in another country.
What has been your most embarrassing moment?
That’s a tough one. There have been so many. I have an uncanny knack for bringing unflattering attention to myself, and I really don’t care to relive them so I do believe I’ll plead the fifth.
Feel free to check out all the posts in my Ask the Housewife series, and if you have questions you want to ask, you can add them to this post.

Two things we have in common, this is the first year that my kids will be in school all day too, and also I wanted to be a teacher when I “grew up”. I never did go through with that one. And we are opposites in the fact that I thrive on routines!
Fun series! I like it. =)
!!! I had a huge Raggedy Ann doll that my aunt made for me too!
I wanted to be a teacher too, but ended up working in a bank before my jewellery designing took over.
Waiting for your European trip and glad Ireland is up there!
Next time I will be excluded from asking you questions!!!
