Happy Thanksgiving!

Ahhhhhh . . . Thanksgiving! The quintessential American holiday and perhaps the only one that hasn’t yet been tainted by commercialism and religious animosity.

I’m just excited not to be traveling this year, and not to be hosting!

I am also continuing my tradition of running a Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving morning. I’ll be meeting up with some friends shortly to see if I can beat my pathetic last time. I’ll really be delighted if I come close to my time from last  year’s Turkey Trot, but I realize that every trail is different, and I can’t get too bummed out if I don’t perform up to my own expectations.

After that, I plan to relax and EAT!

I am so thankful for everything we have; we are truly so blessed — friends, family, health, a job I truly love, a warm comfortable home and plenty of food to eat.

My prayers go out to those who are suffering this season. I know of so many who are entering this holiday season with heavy hearts due to illness or loss of a loved one, and yet I firmly believe that no matter what, God is good. I pray that is your hope as well.

I hope you have a lovely, relaxing day planned with friends and loved ones and that it is free of stress and anxiety. Eat plenty of turkey and an extra slice of pie for me!

Happy Thanksgiving!
