I didn’t get around to writing a Fashion Friday post this week, but who says we can’t talk fashion on Saturday?? I had to take a few minutes to share the Banana Republic sale that ends tonight at midnight.
Probably half my closet is from Banana Republic. They just seem to nail my personal style, and if you shop their sales, you can get a lot of bang for your buck. I usually shop when they go to 30 or 35% off, but it is rare to find 40% off of the entire women’s department so this is definitely a great opportunity to stock up on a few fall/winter essentials! Here are my top picks.
Need a LBD for the cooler months? This Ponte Zip-Back Dress is perfect. Its simplicity is what makes it so versatile. You can dress it up or down, add your favorite scarf or statement necklace, go for a metallic or snakeskin pump, or wear a red ballet flat or even a bootie . . . the possibilities are virtually limitless. (And if black is too harsh for your taste, it comes in royal blue and winter white.)
For a dress that is more fun and upbeat, this Foulard-Print Dress is adorable. Unfortunately they are mostly out of the orange print (unless you’re a size 16 – then you’re in luck!) But they do have the black print available in most sizes. I’m VERY tempted to order that one. It’s not my typical style, but I think it might work.
I have always had good luck with pants from BR although I don’t have any in my wardrobe currently. They are ideal for the office, but I also like them for church and even an alternative to dressy jeans for a nice dinner out. I’ve got my eye on the new Camden fit — a slim ankle silhouette with a bit of stretch. The Camden-Fit Red Print Ankle Pant would be adorable with a black or gray sweater and pumps or booties.
And the Sloan-Fit Black Trouser is a great basic for every wardrobe.
These days I mostly shop BR for their tops — sweaters, blouses, tees, you name it. They do it right.
This Textured V-Neck Pullover is a nice wardrobe staple for the winter season. It is a great layering piece, or it can be worn alone with a scarf or jewelry to add interest. The texture makes it perfect for casual wear.
For a dressier V-neck sweater, I love the Luxe V-Neck Pullover. It comes in so many fabulous colors, I think I’ll need a few of these!!
I bought this Pop Stripe Timeless Tee the last time BR was running a sale. I wore it for the first time this week, and I love it. I’ve long been a fan of their Timeless Tank and the Timeless Tee is just as fab. The fit is great, it is form fitting without being tight, and the fabric is nice and thick so it can be worn alone or as a layering piece. I love the pop of color at the neckline! So fun.
Also check out their short-sleeved Timeless V-Neck Tee if you need a basic tee for warm weather. These can also be layered under cardigans and worn all winter. The BR Timeless Tees wash and wear beautifully. They will last you for years.
This Pintuck Crepe Blouse is already in my shopping bag. I love blouses without collars — collars irritate me, it’s something about the length of my hair. I’m always fussing with them. But this Pintuck Blouse won’t give me fits. I like how they pair this black one with jeans for a dressy/casual look.
Don’t forget shoes and accessories. LOVE the Ryann Bootie. I need these!! Okay, I don’t NEED anything, but these would be a great addition to my shoe wardrobe, dontcha think?
They have some great basic pumps and flats too. (click on the pictures to link to the items on the website)
And of course it wouldn’t be a fashion post without a handbag or three, would it? (I know the price tags are a bit steep, but remember . . . 40% off!)
May I suggest the Bettina Satchel?
Or the Ashbury Tote?
I am practicing some major self restraint not to order this Joanna tote in clay. If I hadn’t just invested in my fall bag, this would be in my shopping cart before you could say Jack Sprat!
Also, take a look at their jewelry. You can see a sampling of what they have in the photos in this post. Again, the prices are a bit high at full price, but at 40% off, they’re worth a look!
So will you be shopping the BR sale this weekend? Which pieces are your favorites???
