About
My name is Jo-Lynne, and Musings of a Housewife is my personal blog where I discuss everything from motherhood to fashion to nutrition to reality TV and anything else that crosses my mind. I absolutely adore the smart, encouraging community of women who read and laugh and cry along with me. Blogging would be meaningless without them.
I wear many hats. I am first and foremost a child of God, and I claim the grace of Jesus Christ alone for my salvation and sanctification.
I am a wife to this handsome man, and we make our home in a rural suburb of Philadelphia.
I am a mom to three school-age children who provide me with unconditional love and oodles of blog fodder, although as they get older and learn to read over my shoulder, I have to be more careful about what I put into print.
I am a Bible study leader, and I serve on the women’s ministry team at my local PCA church.
I am somewhat of a fashionista, although most of the time I rock the modern housewife look of yoga pants and hoodies. And yet I manage to have a collection of handbags and designer denim that borders on the obsessive. Oh and shoes. Did I mention shoes?
I am committed to a traditional whole foods lifestyle. We try to avoid industrially processed foods, and we buy fresh and local as much as possible living in the tundra of Pennsylvania. We drink raw milk and eat local pastured meat and eggs, real butter, and as much organic produce as we can afford, although it’s so much more than eating organic.
I am a shameless reality TV enthusiast with a passion that actually rivals my addiction to coffee, making TiVo and my French Press my two favorite indulgences.
I am a vlogger, and I have a collection of videos on topics such as cooking, beauty tips and tricks, gadget reviews, and more.
I am an avid blogger, which is likely why I am also a lapsed scrapbooker. In addition to Musings of a Housewife, where I’ve been blogging for 4 years, I own Chic Critique — a fashion and beauty blog written by regular women for regular women.
My newest online endeavor is Eat Local Philly, a site dedicated to sharing places to purchase locally grown foods. Eat Local Philly is still under construction, but I am currently accepting submissions.
I am also a blog designer at DCR Design.
I run the Philly Social Media Moms email group, which is a place for Philadelphia area mom bloggers to network and socialize.
I am also a member of BlissTV and a curator for BlissReads.
When I’m not online, which is an increasingly rare occurrence, I like to cook, read, shop, jog, and photograph my kids. And I’ll never turn down a pedicure.
