100 Things

  1. I was born in Maine, but I grew up in Virginia.
  2. I committed my life to Christ when I was six years old.
  3. I desire to be a godly woman, but I fear I fall quite short.
  4. I trust God’s grace alone for my salvation.
  5. I went to college in Massachusetts where I majored in the Denny’s All Night Breakfast menu with a concentration in the French Toast Slam.
  6. In my spare time, I studied elementary education.
  7. And I got my MRS degree.
  8. He was a Philly boy.
  9. He introduced me to the cheesesteak, the Tastykake, and Bruce Springsteen.
  10. I fell in love with all of the above.
  11. We’ve been married almost 12 years.
  12. I was a third grade teacher.
  13. I “retired” when I was 27 to be a stay-at-home mom.
  14. I love being a mom, and I feel blessed to be able to stay home with my kids.
  15. We have three of them.
  16. Kids, that is.
  17. I wanted two, and my husband wanted four.
  18. So we compromised.
  19. And now we are D-O-N-E. Finished. Complete. Fini. Terminado. Finito.
  20. Permanent measures have been taken.
  21. I loved nursing.
  22. I nursed my kids for 21 months, 26 months, and 16 months, respectively.
  23. Everyone always thinks I’m tall, but I’m really only 5’5″.
  24. My “little brother” is 6’4″.
  25. I drive a minivan.
  26. I really want an SUV.
  27. My husband and I have lived in four homes in 11 years.
  28. Right now we live in a quiet, spacious neighborhood in the country.
  29. I love jewelry.
  30. And Coca-Cola.
  31. And classic rock music.
  32. Not necessarily in that order.
  33. I could eat pizza every day.
  34. I like good wine, but I’m not one to turn down the cheap stuff if you’re offering.
  35. I also like a good cup of coffee.
  36. I think I’m a tad OCD.
  37. For example, if I finish my drink before I finish my food, I’ll stop eating.
  38. Or I’ll nurse the last few sips of the drink until I finish my food.
  39. And I have to have certain foods with certain drinks.
  40. Like pizza and Coke.
  41. But wait. There’s more.
  42. I love to polish my stainless appliances, and I can’t stand it when they get fingerprints or water streaks.
  43. Incorrect grammar and punctuation use irritate me.
  44. I can’t promise you you’ll never find errors in my posts, but I’ll do my best.
  45. Unless it’s for effect, in which case, all bets are off.
  46. I almost always proofread and tweak my posts multiple times after I’ve published them. I can’t leave them alone.
  47. I like change, therefore you will see the face of my blog change often.
  48. I detest clutter, but my house is rarely tidy.
  49. Maybe when the kids are grown and out of the house. I can hope, can’t I?
  50. I don’t mind doing laundry.
  51. And I think I actually enjoy vacuuming.
  52. But I detest cleaning bathrooms.
  53. I am not a pack-rat; I love to throw things away and have no problem getting rid of junk.
  54. I always get rid of any clothes that I haven’t worn in a year.
  55. I don’t do crafts.
  56. I used to scrapbook.
  57. In fact, I used to be a Creative Memories consultant.
  58. Now I’m way behind and have turned to digital photo books.
  59. I’m a girly-girl.
  60. I love to experiment with make-up.
  61. I love the spa. Manicures, pedicures, facials, massages, I like them all.
  62. I’m a sucker for a new pair of shoes or a new purse.
  63. I love to shop.
  64. The mall is like my second home.
  65. I hate grocery shopping though.
  66. I talk faster than anyone I’ve ever met.
  67. Even so, I don’t always think very quick on my feet, and I often have to process information before I can give an intelligent response.
  68. Which makes me seem like an airhead sometimes.
  69. I don’t play any sports.
  70. I am very musical, but I can’t play the piano.
  71. I want to learn.
  72. I played the violin for 10 years, but I can’t play a bit now.
  73. I used to sing solos in church.
  74. I’m a very trusting person, and I like almost everyone.
  75. I usually assume the best about people and tend to give them the benefit of the doubt.
  76. The down side of that is, I often share more than I should before I realize someone may not be trustworthy.
  77. But on the plus side, I have lots of friends.
  78. I have horrible teeth.
  79. I hate going to the dentist.
  80. I have a phobia of needles.
  81. I love to dance, but I’m very self-conscious about it.
  82. I love to laugh.
  83. I love to read mysteries and historical fiction.
  84. I used to read several books a week, but I don’t read much anymore.
  85. I’m a sucker for reality TV.
  86. My favorites are Survivor, American Idol, and The Amazing Race.
  87. But my all-time favorite TV show is What Not To Wear.
  88. I also love the Food Network.
  89. Clearly, I watch way too much television.
  90. I love to cook.
  91. But I don’t have time to cook the way I used to.
  92. I weigh myself every day.
  93. I have never broken a bone.
  94. I never remember to put the cordless phones back in the receivers.
  95. It drives the husband C-R-A-Z-Y.
  96. I am a horrible klutz.
  97. I have two bad habits — cracking my knuckles and twirling my hair.
  98. I dislike making decisions that affect other people, like where to go to dinner.
  99. I hate confrontation and will go to great lengths to keep peace.
  100. I’ve been told this makes me easy to get along with.
