Merlot — CHECK!

Milk chocolate — CHECK!

Laptop — CHECK!

And it’s…  SHOWTIME!

Hi Paula.  You look nice in straight hair.  You should definitely keep it.

But Ryan, Dear.  You are really NOT funny at all.  Please stick to the script.  Thankyouverymuch.

It is my humble opinion that group numbers should be banned forever and ever amen.  Does anyone disagree?  I’ve never known anyone who likes them.  WHAT is the point?  Honestly?

Lovin’ the glimpse behind the scenes after last week’s Results Show.  I’ve never really thought about what happens after the show.

After some chit-chat, we get down to business.  Danny and Lil are safe.  Anoop is safe.

Allison and Michael are asked to stand up.  I’m predicting Michael is brought down front.  Paula predicts Allison.

And she’s right.

Alrightythen.  I wasn’t expecting that.  I’ll be SO annoyed if Allison goes home this week.

AHA!  Michael is also in the bottom three.  Sneaky…  So I was only half wrong.

Mmmm….  Dunkin’ Donuts.

After a considerable commercial break, we’re back.

Scott is safe.  Megan is safe.  Even though she wasn’t my favorite last night, I do think she deserves a Get Out of Jail Free Card just for performing with the flu.

Matt is also safe.

And Kris is safe.

So that leaves Alexis and Adam.  Alexis reminds me of a doll in a toy store; she’s so teensy.

Both Adam and Alexis stand while the judges discuss their fate.  Simon stands by his statement from last night that Adam’s performance was indulgent rubbish.  He punctuates that by calling it dreadful.

Alexis joins Allison and Michael center stage in the unfortunate bottom 3 spots.

Allison is sent back to safety, THANK GOODNESS, while Alexis and Michael are left to stew while we are subjected to another commercial break.

We get a little trip down memory lane with Carrie Underwood.  It really is amazing how far she has come.  I remember her initial audition, although I confess I was rooting for Bo Bice that season.  Does anyone remember how out of tune she was in that finale?  Okay, I’m over it.  Really.  And no one can deny her success.  Plus she’s just darling.

So Carrie and Randy Travis take the stage, and WHAT DOES SHE HAVE IN HER HAIR?  I don’t get that at all.  But anyway.

I really enjoyed that performance.  I love cheesy duets.  I just eat ‘em right up.

Meanwhile Michael and Alexis both look like they’re gonna puke.  And the wait isn’t over yet because they must endure yet another commercial break.

And after a nationwide vote…  Oh wait.  That’s Ryan’s line.

So yeah.  Michael is safe and Alexis will go home unless she wins the judges over with another performance of Jolene.  Awwww, say it ain’t so!!!!!  I’d rather see Scott or Michael or even Anoop go home tonight.  Not Alexis.

The judges SAY they are considering using their veto or whatever they call it, so they sit in a huddle and whisper throughout her entire performance, which is so obnoxious but no one asked me, did they?

I have to say that her performance is 100% improved over last night, proving it was a good song choice; she just didn’t bring it last night.

Simon tells her it was good but not good enough, and they send her on their way.  Did anyone really think they were going to use their veto this early in the season?  Seems like a ploy for drama to me.  But then, I don’t know why I would expect any less.  This IS American Idol, after all.

And that’s a wrap!  Tune in next WEDNESDAY night when the top 10 perfrom Motown.  Ooops, there I go channeling Ryan again.  But really, it is WEDNESDAY b/c of the presidential address.  I’m doing my best not to roll my eyes.  Can the man at least speak on a DIFFERENT night?  First March Madness preempts Survivor, and now this.  (My husband is wishing I had never discovered the internet right about now.)  Okay, over and out.
