Valentine’s Day is JUST around the corner, and while some may scoff at the Hallmark holidays, I figure that setting aside a day to tell your loved ones how much you appreciate them can’t possibly be a bad idea. Besides, I’m certainly not one to turn down chocolate and flowers!
Of course, if you’re one of those who always forgets about these arbitrary holidays until the last minute, and then find yourself in the doghouse by a certain someone, you might have developed a bit of animosity about them over the years. Never fear. I’m here to help! I’m giving you plenty of advance notice and a list of fun ideas for everyone on your list.
If you aren’t the one who tends to get caught unprepared, feel free to send this post along to your significant other. Sometimes they just need a little nudge.
Gift Guide: Valentine’s 2013
How can you go wrong with a box of sweets? The Harvard Sweet Boutique sent us a sampling of their cookies, and we can attest, they are every bit as good as homemade. Plus they come gorgeously wrapped in a keepsake Hearts of Gold gift box. Ask about their gluten free options!
This limited edition Valentine’s Day hair tie collection features various shades of pink and glitter that are sure to delight Valentines of all ages! In addition to holding your hair, you can wear them as bracelets. These Kitsch hair ties will not pull, crease, get caught or damage your hair. These are a great little gift for the little girl in your life (my daughters are wearing theirs every day!) or for a girlfriend or a teacher gift or anyone who likes little gizmos for their hair.
How FUN is this!? The second I saw it, I fell in love with this funky, stylish handset that you can plug directly into your mobile phone or tablet for high quality calls. It claims to improve the sound and increase the comfort of talking on the phone, but I think it’s just plain fun.
I’ve shown you this iPhone card case wallet before, but I’m featuring it again because in pink (iPhone 4/4S) or red (iPhone 5) because I think it’s an adorable Valentine’s Day gift. Or, if you’re buying for the guy in your life, you probably wanna go with black, but I promise, it will be just as romantic. Or, you know, appreciated. Not sure a wallet can be considered romantic…
We love our Braven — a small wireless Bluetooth speaker with excellent stereo sound and the ability to charge devices even while you’re streaming. We use it outside in the summertime on the deck, and the kids like that they can take it to different rooms in the house and listen to their favorite tunes and dance. I actually won this when I attended a taping of The View, and the guys I know LOVE this little gizmo. If you have more than one, you can “dasiy-chain” them together for surround sound… even better!
This is a perfect little Valentine’s Day Gift for a busy mom, co-worker, or student on the go. Staples leather Arc notebook comes with removable pages so you can organize and customize the way that works for you. Arc accessories such as calendar pages, task pads, page flags, and tab dividers will help you stay SUPER organized in the new year.
I’m not wearing readers yet, but perhaps you are or perhaps you want to buy a fun Valentine’s Day gift for your mom or a special woman in your life. Eyewear designer Corinne McCormack has gorgeous, on-trend eyewear as well as geek chic frames and accessories in fun, flirty colors that are perfect for Valentine’s Day. Seriously, how cute are these!? (She makes sunglasses and regular frames as well as readers!)
If you’re more of a romantic, these last ideas are for you.
Let’s face it, nothing says I LOVE YOU like flowers. FTD! has tons of gorgeous options, but I chose this mini rose plant to feature because I love the idea of a potted plant that lasts more than a few days. I’m also a sucker for red roses so these mini roses seem like the perfect choice — it’s also quite affordable at just $22.50.
And finally . . .
Lisa’s shop is FULL of gorgeous pieces of artisan jewelry that are sure to delight your special someone. Make sure to check her out on Etsy as well as on her Studio Jewel website. She has jewelry for both men and women.
I absolutely adore this Luxe Statement Necklace. This feminine dog tag necklace with the personalized hand stamped secret message on the back and a wire wrapped gemstone on a gorgeous 18″ cable chain will surely melt her heart.
Or perhaps this Bohemian Open Heart Pendant on a double copper chain is more her style.
Or what about these personalized cuff links.
Whomever you are buying for this Valentine’s Day, if you want something unique and romantic, Studio Jewel will have the perfect thing.
